  • I'll say it again.....I like his 74% completion percentage last year.

I'm not going to poo-poo that, but I sometimes view gawdy completion percentages in college with a grain of salt.

How often was he throwing bubble screens and other "passes" that were glorified handoffs? I'm not saying he's overrated in this part of his game, but Brandon Weeden completed almost 70% of his passes his senior year at OK State I believe.

But I do think he's a fit with Stefanski. That makes this a pretty solid pick.

  • The Gabriel headfake also cost us a productive player at another position of need - Lathan Ransom and Denzel Burke as 2 examples

Probably. A 5th rounder is low risk on Shedeur.

It's hard to give this FO any credit, but Gabriell competing with Shedeur may be a good thing.

Ransom is more of the same at DB, same weaknesses we currently have.  Burke would have been an interesting pick for nickel.

Either way, that top 100 pick on Gabriel could have been used elsewhere.  He would have been available later.

And once again I'm worried about the IDL like in years past.

For the record, I hope Shedeur becomes the greatest QB in Browns history,

I do to. But hope is NOT a strategy

Or one of the four gets traded as training camp winds down

There is a decent chance either Gabriel or Sanders becomes a wasted pick.. The Cleveland Browns are not a team that can afford to waste draft picks. 😉

I'm sure the Browns had no thought that they'd take another QB but when he was still sitting there felt like they had to pull the trigger.

The Gabriel pick is the only one I don't like. I would have been ok I suppose with him in the 5th or 6th round, but I agree, there were other guys I would've taken in a second over him there.

  • I fucking love it

A lot of language and structure cross over with certain concepts from Shurmur to Stefanski.  People forget all their time together in Minnesota.

Sanders has a good bit of exposure already to the vision of how this offense will run.

  • I've lost track of how many Buckeyes have been drafted... LA Rams just took DT Ty Hamilton.

Gabriel as a back up, I have no problem with that

Yeah thats probably the worst pick of the ones they made. I am sure if they really thought Sanders would be there later they would have not picked him. That said getting him in the 5th is almost a no brainer. If he becomes some locker room issue it cost nothing to cut him. If he excels the only negative would be you dont have the 5th year option.

    That helps for sure.

It will be interesting how Sanders rebounds from this fall mentally.

Or Johnny football. Could be either or neither. No one knows

  • Kenny Pickett might be the odd guy out and go to the practice squad

I guess they're Golden Corral buffet bound after round 7 in search of our Undrafted starting LT.

    I dont get it

    I dont get it

I don't either Syd. This team went 3-14.  Not 1 OL has been drafted on an offense that sucked at scoring points.  Does our FO understand this?  Joel Bitonio needed a pep talk to come back for 1 more year.  I don't get it either.  The OT the Browns DID sign is 34 years old from Washington whose previous team prioritized OT enough to sign Pro Bowl T Laremy Tunsil to a HUGE Contract and then drafted LT Josh Conerly Jr in the 1st round.

My guess is yes. Expect a large contingent of undrafted FA linemen parading through Berea asap.
