Day 3 Saturday 2025 NFL Draft
-
I still think both of the OSU CB's would improve the DB room, if not in rd7 then as UDFA
-
I don't either Syd. This team went 3-14. Not 1 OL has been drafted on an offense that sucked at scoring points. Does our FO understand this? Joel Bitonio needed a pep talk to come back for 1 more year. I don't get it either. The OT the Browns DID sign is 34 years old from Washington whose previous team prioritized OT enough to sign Pro Bowl T Laremy Tunsil to a HUGE Contract and then drafted LT Josh Conerly Jr in the 1st round.
expect a lot of 2 T,E sets
-
What a zany draft. Looks like that’s it for us unless we pull off a later trade. Then it’s on to the udfa train…
They need some OL udfa for sure
They need some OL udfa for sure
Probably a wideout or two as well.

My guess is yes. Expect a large contingent of undrafted FA linemen parading through Berea asap.

Taking a step back and looking at the OL the depth is there, on the IOL at least. You've got Bito, Poicic and Teller. Then you've got Teven, Zinter and Wypler.
OT is interesting. Lucas is solid for a year or two. Right side now becomes a question mark. You let Jones battle it out with Jed and see what happens with Conklin's health.
Because you now have enough ammo for next year to trade up and also invest in OT.

You think they bring back Jed? I sorta figured that ship has sailed.

I sure hope so. Like with any team, they key is staying healthy and on the field. The last couple seasons, the O line has really been banged up.

Good point. So it's now between Dawand and Conklin right side.

Which is why I thought we' get one quality OL fairly high in the draft, because now we're playing the lottery hoping for a hit. Odds are the injury streak continues.

So we have the QB many of you wanted to take at #2 overall...
And we now have two first rounders in the 2026 Draft.
Oh, the debates next off-season will be spicy!
-
Not sure anyone has mentioned this but Sanders will be the last draft pick for the Browns, unless they trade back in.
Cavs are absolutely destroying Miami, up by 29 with a little over five minutes left in the fourth quarter. Miami's arena looks like a ghost town.

Really the only downside of Sanders because I believe the perceived attitude has been humbled a bit. If we fall for mediocre play out of him passing up on the 2026 QB draft class. He’s gotta have it or not have it and you need to give him some meaningful burn. And you could still draft Arch Allar or whomever and trade him away.

It was a mild need this year it is a priority next year- WR too. And probably QB and DB. Oh man
If you replace Gabriel with say whoever was the top rated OLineman at the time, I would absolutely love this draft. I still like it a decent amount. Got no problem with the first four picks for sure, and Sanders at #144 is worth the shot.

Let's dream a bit.
Let's imagine a scenario where Sanders actually shows he was a legit first round pick.
Now imagine the fun we'd have next draft with two first round picks and QB not being a need. I don't expect this, but oh Lord above I don't believe in, let me be wrong about Sanders! ?

I hope so. Too fresh in my memory is that Dawand Jones showed up to training camp way overweight both years where he ended each of those seasons on IR. Conklin finally stayed healthy after missing a game or 2 early on. Wills ended on IR each of his last 2 years so I've had sufficient reasons to worry on what we're needing to count on here. Meanwhile, Cornelius Lucas turns 34 years old in July. Maybe we'll strike oil at OT in the Undrafted FA market and get sufficient help.

he was definitely worth a roll of the dice, and honestly I believe you he could very well be our QB of the future, and all the talk of his dad coming here to coach,is just stupid and must watch shows like get up or other nonsense

...yup, we deserve that. ? ...but it ain't over until the fat lady sings. He has the chance to show everyone that he should've been picked #2 overall.
When the pick was announced I immediately tabbed NFL dot coms draft tracker and checked the remaining draft rounds to see that we had no more picks. I still haven't researched the terms of the trade to move ahead of the Eagles to take him...and I thought to myself, 'They thought enough of him that, even though they drafted Gabriel in the 3rd, he was worth the rest of their draft capital to get ahead of the Eagles and get him into their building'. Of course, they only had a 6th & 7th round picks left.
Now it's my turn to say, I Told Yas So. ? We will not be picking 5 guys in the 6th & 7th rounds.

With only seven picks (instead of the ten or eleven they would have had) and two of them being RBs and two of them being QBs, I expect the Browns to be very busy with UDFAs.. especially on the OLine.

My nightmare - which I mentioned recently concerning Milroe - was that the Browns take a project QB this draft and see just enough in him that they skip QB draft next year that should be much better and we miss our shot at a top QB prospect. I now worry that Sanders might show just enough to make the Browns think they can skip a QB next draft, but long-term he ends up being a JAG.
