His ideas are crazy because he has no idea how much money he wouldn't have to even begin to try to do anything he says. But there are plenty of young people who don't have much who will buy into it. But the despair will follow because this wannabe communist/socialist mayor will completely fail.
It will backfire on the dems. They have already blown past being a genuine American political party - they have thrived on radicalism and fake promises to everyone else. It fell apart, and I don't see that they can put the past behind them, not one bit.
No, as I said, Mamdani's economic beliefs are idiotic, but there are a lot of Americans angry at the system and wealth inequality, which he is capitalizing on. There are a lot of Americans who would prefer Israel fight their own wars without our tax money bankrolling them. I wish that Americans, such as yourself, didn't have suicidal empathy for Israel. I am glad this is changing, but I wish it didn't require a massive influx of Muslim immigrants to spark it. The social issues that are going to arise from dealing with a growing Islamic community in America are going to be painful. After the boomers die, Israel's free lunch is over.

well, I wouldn't go that far, but it is ridiculous trying to buy friends all over the planet. But I do support Israel because their enemies want to destroy them and us. So, helping Israel means they are fighting a war against terrorism for us. Except, they live in bunkers and safe rooms and threats and muslim/"palestinian"/arab threats of violence, and violence acted out. The terrorist countries get plenty of free lunches from the russians and chinese and other arabic terror states. We don't help Israel, and it's another Holocaust - iran and their proxy groups have said so many times.

He, on-the-record, declared that his goal is to "seize the means of production." It's fair to call him a Marxist, communist, and socialist.
His call to raise taxes on whiter, richer neighborhoods is an even stronger brand of millennial racism that helped get Trump elected. If we want a future with right wing death squads, this is how they're created.

I think this guy warrants discussion. The fact that a self-described Marxist is going to be the mayor of the most populous city in the US represents a massive shift in the Overton window and US politics as a whole.
