Oh, and Trump clearly being jealous. Now, he's threatened enough he's calling him a communist (false) and potentially illegal (false). If Trump tries to detain, denaturalize, and deport a popular political opponent we've officially reached full authoritarianism.

His call to raise taxes on whiter, richer neighborhoods is an even stronger brand of millennial racism that helped get Trump elected. If we want a future with right wing death squads, this is how they're created.

I think this guy warrants discussion. The fact that a self-described Marxist is going to be the mayor of the most populous city in the US represents a massive shift in the Overton window and US politics as a whole.
