Zohran Mamdani

As a general rule l pay little attention to politicians l can’t vote for and l think anyone who does is a little weird. Gotta compartmentalize this stuff.

I think this guy warrants discussion. The fact that a self-described Marxist is going to be the mayor of the most populous city in the US represents a massive shift in the Overton window and US politics as a whole.
I do welcome that the influence of the ADL hypocrites is finally waning.

Sure, it’s interesting. What you think warrants a discussion warrants a discussion for you, and you obviously have willing participants here. If and when he becomes someone l can vote, then it becomes my concern.
I will vaguely follow his journey but l have no say in the matter until that happens.

Mamdani isn't a communist
He, on-the-record, declared that his goal is to "seize the means of production." It's fair to call him a Marxist, communist, and socialist.
His call to raise taxes on whiter, richer neighborhoods is an even stronger brand of millennial racism that helped get Trump elected. If we want a future with right wing death squads, this is how they're created.

okay, I almost gave you a thumbs up on your post, and then you posted something asinine.
Pres Trump WON THE POPULAR VOTE. Did historically well with minority communities.
There is nothing racist about that.

The freaking out from the right over Mamdani is hilarious. You can tell they're scared. Progressive policies are popular, we have polls that show that, Dems are just awful. Now someone is pushing those popular ideas and is actually charismatic, well spoken, etc.
And what do we get? Just straight up racist comments coming from her right, including politicians. And Charlie Kirk going full blown racist.
Oh, and Trump clearly being jealous. Now, he's threatened enough he's calling him a communist (false) and potentially illegal (false). If Trump tries to detain, denaturalize, and deport a popular political opponent we've officially reached full authoritarianism.

Sounds like this guy is pretty racist to me.

Seems the left is weary as well...

I bet racists are ok all of the sudden too.
-
Spot on, predictable lefties.
No you dipshit... Racist and islamophobic comments make you a racist. Not disagreeing with Mamdani. Comments like Kirk and others wrote.
The right will now begin to try and immediately confuse the two to defend those making the comments.
And it looks like you could probably stand to spend less time on twitter...

He's not taxing explicitly white people... It's a shifting tax burden to more affluent neighborhoods that happen to be whiter. You can disagree with the messaging, and race being mentioned, but the plan isn't to "tax white people"...
The absolute panic and nonsense spewing out from the MAGA right (and establishment Dems) is how you can tell they're worried. There's a popular politician out there actually speaking to the populist ideas and common man sentiment that Trump pretended to care about.

God you are a stupid indoctrinated commie with no idea what the fuck you are talking about... Go look at Venezuela and all the other socialist Government run countries you dip shit! Socialism is a complete FAILURE no matter how you choose to gift wrap it... Mamdani was given 3 chances to denounce "Intifada" and skipped and danced around the question 3 times when asked in a recent interview you dumb jack off!

Cal, you have misread my post.
Normal people voted Trump, in part, because they got sick of idiots and politicians on CNN, MSNBC, and ESPN saying racist shit like "you can't be racist to white people." That's the racism I'm talking about. Now give me my thumbs up on that post.

Explain a normal person.
That's not the reason they voted for Trump.
One major reason they voted for him was to deport all illegals.
Racism is a tool by the left to divide and shut down free speech. Woody is a good example. You can't say anything about Mamdani and if you do you're a racist. It gives less intelligent people like woody an easy pass.

I spend zero time on X, these are all linked from news articles.
Looks like you could spend less time with your head up your ass.

I agree lots of people voted to deport the illegals, but I'm not talking about them. When I say "normal people" I'm talking people who watch the news on TV occasionally and keep their political views to themselves (everyone posting here is not a normal American). The way race was handled by government, corpos, and the media during Trump 1 and Biden pissed off a lot of people in the middle. They went full retard over George Floyd and the ultimate result was black fatigue, white flight, higher crime in cities, etc. It clearly moved the needle toward Trump.

No you dipshit... Are you not paying attention at all or are you that stupid? You're playing this weird racism card thing to act like any criticism is being called racism so you can discredit the other side. But you're just randomly shouting it into existence.
I'd hate to take your word on this, please post examples of this racist speech in full context.
Etc etc etc etc

And now an increasingly authoritarian admin, inhumane deportation actions, cuts to Medicaid/healthcare/etc, are going to build up support for people like Mamdani. It'll just require:
- Dems to not completely shit the bed as we've seen them a completely incompetent party
-MAGA conservatives not enacting so my policies that it secretly limits future attempts to get them out of power (voter suppression, etc)
