  • Tony Rizzo has revealed that Browns owner Jimmy Haslam may already be looking toward the future as far as signal-caller is concerned.

Haslam's target? Texas Longhorns phenom Arch Manning.

“I know he would not admit it, and I know it’s nothing that they want to talk about, but I’m telling you the thirst that Jimmy Haslam has for Arch Manning is unmatched. Unmatched," Rizzo said. "You know the connection. The Haslams donated a ton of money to Tennessee. They have a good relationship with the Manning family. I don’t think it’s a coincidence they acquired a second first-round pick. ... It was described to me by a billionaire that said, ‘In a perfect world, that guy would be in Cleveland next year, and they would do anything to get him.'"

"The thirst that Jimmy Haslam has for Arch Manning is UNMATCHED," - @TheRealTRizzo has heard that the Browns owner LOVES him some Arch.

    Thoughts?

Anyone know if the homeless guy is still around?

I know there is a Haslam/Manning connection, but I just cannot see the Manning family allowing their kid to come to the Browns. I’m not even listing Arch Manning in the list of possible first round QBs in the 2026 Draft.

I don’t understand why Manning is viewed as even a potential 1st round pick anyway, other than his last name. He got beat out last year by a guy who was an eventual 7th round pick.

The last name and how highly rated a recruit he was. Homeboy has less than 100 college pass attempts I believe

Probably the same way the "Fail for Cardale" crowd was huge in January 2015.

Hype, a flash here or there and some national exposure can go a long way.  Toss in a big name and the projection multiplies 10fold.

I’m not torn on one thing…taking the under on OSU UT in a month.

Two “new” QBs against the saltiest Defenses…week 1.  All day.

our boy manning had one play in the semifinal game…got his helmet pushed into his face and lost the ball on patented Arch Manning scramble that Texas fans are raving about.  And four new offensive lineman in a loud stadium.

Well the way you describe it, perhaps you should take the parlay. OSU AND the under.

  • How long before Daddy starts complaining?  How come my boy is the only QB not getting any reps with the #1's?

  • Geez I'm so desperate for football season I watched that group above beat a dead horse to death fifteen ways from Sunday while watching women's football between D.C. and St. Louis on ESPN 2. I'm just pathetic.?‍?

If "Daddy" has any common sense... He would know this is good for Shadeur whether I like him.. Or not... There was a guy drafted ahead of him.. And two guys who are vets.. He needs to tell his son (if he doesn't know already) Respect and time is earned... Not just given on a silver platter..

The receivers are probably happy that one of the QB's will be taking a break from practicing.  🙂

I'm assuming that the midget will be getting more 1st team reps.  And probably Flacco will pick up a few.  Sanders probably won't get any unless Pickett is out for an extended time.  I feel like Stef & Berry would like to keep Sanders in the background while trying to prove that their selection warrants being drafted much higher.

Has there been any indication Deion has been meddling? I haven’t heard of it since we drafted Shadeur. My hope is it was all a pre-draft talking point but won’t really be a thing.

Sadly, I think it's only a matter of time.

Good point.  The problem is daddy allegedly ran his mouth the week of the Super Bowl (and prior to that) about all of the teams he didn't want his son to play for.  As you can guess, these were all teams needing a QB the most heading into the draft.  Actions speaking louder than words, Deion's level of respect or lack-there-of via running his mouth cost his son at the draft.  No matter what people think/thought of him - he wasn't projected as low as round 5 in what many draft analysts felt was a weak QB draft to begin with. That said, a lot of analysts and magazines usually had him listed as one of the top 3 QB prospects in the draft for whatever that's worth.

Not to freak anyone out here but his OC at Colorado was Pat Shurmur.  Yes, the same guy that once put a concussed Colt McCoy right back in the game just 2 plays after James Harrison knocked his lights out.  The same Coach that decided to punt the football on 4th and 1 at the Colts 38 yard line with a 10 point deficit midway through the 4th quarter against a defense that was ranked 31st against the run. So, the Browns punted the football into the end zone and got the touchback gutless football deserved.

In any event, today Arch Manning has a NIL Contract of $6.5 million playing college football (and he hasn't even won himself the starting job in that program to date). Meanwhile Shedeur Sanders has a 4 year $4.6 million contract (with a $447 signing bonus) in the NFL.

Right Tom... Despite what I think of him one way or the other... I want him to do well as a member of the Cleveland Browns..... How Pat Shurmur has a job today is mystifying... With his horrible coaching record it defies gravity... By the same token.. The Cleve Sports Media is setting up Shadeur to fail... By calling for him to start right out of the gate... I just think that is a recipe for disaster!.. I have to witness the posts of jerkoffs on X about Shedeur and remind them theres a reason he was drafted in the 5th round.. And he was the victim of most of his sacks by holding on to the ball too long... You can't do that in today's NFL.. Defenses are lightening fast and the difference between college and Pro are night and day... I enjoyed your post about Arch and the comparisons you pointed out between Arch and Arch Sr. Poor Arch Sr got relegated to playing on some crap teams. Thank God he had Danny Abramowits to throw to or no one may have ever heard his name... He was N.O.'s most consistent pass catcher in that era.. By the time he got to Houston his best years were clearly behind him..

Our fanbase has had a significant amount of training in whatever can go wrong often does.  That being the case, a lot of our fans don't believe in the fairy tale that was once non-fiction in Cleveland. Consequently, various media that's great at selling controversy capitalizes on the negativity around here regarding the Browns. They take inventory of their loyal consumers/patrons and feed them what they want. I always preferred Terry Pluto to Tony Grossi.  Doesn't mean I'm right and others are wrong - I'd rather feel like I'm reading about the current events instead of agendas.

  • It was reported today that Deion Sanders was battling bladder cancer, he's now cancer-free. Safe to say he's had bigger fish to fry than his son's playing time in Cleveland.

It really did seem apparently that Kenny Pickett was starting training camp off well and may have had the inside track to start preseason as the #1 guy, and then he tweaks his hamstring. Next man up.

They actually took out the bladder completely and replaced it with some of his small intestine. My across the street neighbor just had two large bladder cancer tumors removed and is awaiting the path results. I'll tell him about that procedure in case he never heard of it.

Not a huge surprise if Pickett or even Flacco looks better than the rookies at this stage of their careers or this season.

If the Browns are hoping to trade Pickett - the soft tissue hammy injury (unless it's severe) could be a blessing with the news he's off to a good start looking like he can be the #1 here. I  could see a team like TN getting interested a trade given their current backup QB situation.

For whatever it's worth, I'm getting the impression Shedeur Sanders isn't nearly as overwhelmed in life without Father Prime every day.  I prolly could have picked a better time to say that than right after learning his dad just had bladder cancer that he is now cancer-free from.
