Interesting. What bends you outta shape about it? To me it’s kinda like the cancer slogan “Hope for a Cure.” It’s just one of those things we’ll see everywhere until it’s eradicated.

I don’t get why there would be opposition to it. I suppose there are weirdos out there that think cancer is a gift from God or something, but l think the majority of the population is hip to eradicating both things.

I see enough cancer at work that the susan g komen grift is the last thing I want to see when I turn on a football game in October. I'm watching football to forget about it for 3 hours.

I get the personal overkill aspect. Totally understandable. But you’re healthcare hero and it’s good to know you got support yeah?

Yes, and Cancer is a scientific matter and it is more of a bipartisan matter  we all want to eradicate it and support the effort to eradicate it.

the difference with “end racism”.  Me please!!!  I’d love for that to happen but I don’t think DEI programs (the biggest recent movement) move the needle in that direction and actually promote further political polarization.  I’ve seen it create resentment (not just with the typical white middle class male) and especially in the workplace and especially in certain places of the country where there is more diversity like CA.  Bottom line there is a lot of conflict with how we end racism.

let’s just start by being kind and not saying ignorant things to people

I think the majority of the population thinks we already did

It doesn't bend me out of shape.  What bends you out of shape to assume I am a bent out of shape weirdo?

It doesn't carry much meaning and it isn't even used in proper context. I don't think racism is a bad thing by itself. It's a normal human condition.  I will assume you are white, just going with the percentages, if you walk in to a room and notice a person is black, you are a racist.  No big deal.

Bigotry is the problem. Only if you use the fact a person is white, black, brown, yellow or red as the reason to discriminate against them, then that is a problem.

End Bigotry would be a more on point term. That we might have a chance to end.  We will never end racism.

It's a football game.  Let's keep it simple.  Something the whole audience will understand.  ( if we have to profess a message )  End Racism is probably a better slogan than, Stop Beating Your Girlfriends.  ( would one be a bigot if one supported removing the right to vote from women? )

What bends me outta shape is you being bent outta shape that l used the term bent outta shape to describe being bent outta shape.

So you’re going with that view of “racism?” That utopian dream where we can acknowledge each others’ differences and everything is cool? Well duh. That’s the goal.

I figure it’ll be obvious once we get there. Until then we gotta deal with “End Racism” on goalposts, or send strongly worded letters to the NFL nitpicking them over semantics.

Sure your eyes work.  Then your brain processes that the person is different.

It's a football game.  Let's keep it simple.  Don't have anything, or go with bigotry. Condemn every form, be it called racism, sexism, homophobia, whatever else.

LOL...still bent out of shape?  LOL...sounds like an Abbott and Costello skit.

I deal with it.  I look, think it is a stupid message when going to the opener and don't give it much thought the rest of the season.

I doubt anybody has read that goalpost message and changed anything.

Much like if I saw a person that was tethered to an oxygen cylinder.

     That I can't argue with.

  • OK, Judkins has wriggled out of his legal issue.  So where does this saga go from here?  Who's currently sitting on their hands?  Is it that we won't sign him to a contract until Roger GoToHell puts him in time out in the corner?

Good question. I know a couple factors likely involved is that the players drafted before and after Judkins got guaranteed contracts, and that’s a dodgy thing to hand out to a player who may or may not be suspended.

Not that the Browns are strangers to such a scenario…

  • Read a few articles today that spoke about speculation that perhaps the Browns might be interested in getting Nick Chubb back, but word from Houston is he looks like he’s pretty much washed up, unfortunately

    Nick Chubb

He played last week.  5 carries 25 yards  1 catch 4 yards (1 target)

  • Pierre Strong was released, so a Judkins signing very soon? Also sounds like the NFL may be ruling on the Judkins suspension as early as today. We shall see.
