I don't think they really have a choice. Trump ordered Texas to find more seats, and they did, redistricting norms be damned. I'm sure the party will continue to find ways to stack the deck mid census cycle.

Dems either do nothing, and massively fall behind, or they do something and fall behind less.

Reps are playing by their own set of rules and Dems need to wake up to that and fully suit. Or we'll just see more stacking the deck by stretching what's possible in favors of conservatives (gerrymandering, vote suppression, etc)

Dems do nothing? Are you fucking serious? They wrote the book on gerrymandering.

It's going to be worse than this, squaring up of Districts is just going to be "Icing on Cake" (later / elsewhere).

I'm not sure how you can take a look at the data and suggest that gerrymandering is only abused by one side. These are the consequences of trying to de-ballot and imprison the guy who most voters wanted in office.

yet, only one party has allowed our  border to be flooded by millions of UNvatted illegal sombitches, to have a new totally dependent demographic vote-wise.

I'm not saying they don't gerrymander (the studies on the subject would tell you Reps abused it more in modern history though). Both sides do it and I'd prefer if every district was drawn by an independent committee. I said this already.

I'm saying, in this instance, they either try to play the Reps game and attempt to keep up or they do nothing and fall further behind.

The de-ballot and imprison comments aren't worth hashing out. If you think Trump is innocent of everything levied against him, then so be it.

The point I'm making is that both parties are creative at finding ways within the law to disenfranchise their opponents' supporters. For you to suggest they're only playing by "the Reps game" is willfully ignoring a lot of shit the DNC pulled from Trump's first run through Biden's presidency.

We disagree at the level of "gamesmanship" in both instances, clearly. In this instance here we're talking about redistricting to generate additional seats. The inciting incident was a demand from Trump to redraw districts mid cycle in Texas. That's what the Reps did. Follow up redistricting in Cali by Dems is now in response to that. It is playing the Reps game.

Both parties do what they can to win. Dems are generally pretty terrible at everything. Either they try to take the morale high ground or they're incompetent. Probably more the latter.

But after all the shit that has been attempted and will continue to be attempted (2020 election fraud claims, asking states to "find votes", attempting to end mail in voting, reducing the # of polling places in Dem areas, and whatever else I'm guessing is laid out in Project 2025) it's pretty damn clear the MAGA Reps are pushing this "game" further and are playing it more.

I love a good "both sides" too, but it's very clear in this instance both sides aren't the same.

They're more competent than you think, but they're just retarded for not considering the consequences. The Colorado judiciary activists successfully took Trump off the ballot, and he only got placed on it because of checks and balances from the legislature. The NY AG successfully brought trumped up felony charges against Trump, but didn't think that this would actually make him look good and them look bad to the electorate.

If you really think that the redistricting is not on the same level as the above (or worse), then there's really no point in further discussion.

LOl...the dems have gerrymandered for decades and have run out of ways to do it.  Plus, you people are done.  You aren't winning anything for the next 20 years. You have moved from the party for the lower income people to the party representing the folks with nose rings.

    Who exactly are my people?

Redistricting in combination with the items I mentioned above, among others.

But alright, we can end it here.
