It’s good and l get the gist of the clip. It’s basically a comment about how it’s a positive that Dart worked through his progressions to get to his 3rd option.

However, the thing that sticks in my crawl about it is you used the term “backside sail” and l have no idea what that means, but it sounds really cool and l want to know what it means.

You’ve kinda got the opportunity to enlighten football fans doing this, and let’s be honest, we’re not always the brightest bunch. I’ve been watching this game for 40 years now and it’s easy to miss things. Sure, we all see the big catch or the big run, but we don’t always see the big block that makes it possible.

You’ve got a great mind for this and l read everything you post with much interest, but l don’t always understand the terminology. I only say this because l’m sure l’m not alone and l believe your content could hit next level marketing if you take for granted the rest of us are dumber than you but eager to learn.

    Thanks for the feedback bubs.

You're not the first person to say this.  My business partner wants me to do a football 101 at some point. Essentially what you're asking - a series of clips explaining offense, defense, language, personnel, formations, philosophy, position groups, etc etc.

The quicker clips, 30-90 seconds,  will be like the one above.  I try to fit as much possible into that time frame. Especially right now for exposure and content.

At the moment I'm limited in my editing ability and the program is entry level.   As the skills grow, so will the videos in length, detail and education from the ground up.  Bare with me and be patient.

Took me about 15 hours over a couple weeks to learn what you saw in the link.  Give me another 15 hours and you'll see improvement.

Then I can more efficiently produce longer, more detailed clips that are as educational as they are about analysis.

The football 101 clips sound like a good idea. There are short attention spans everywhere on social media. Grab ‘em and wow ‘em gets them coming back for more.

You’re on to something and l think you got the goods to make it work. Keep going man.

Totally agree. Us really old school footballers don't always understand the terminology, but over time figure it out. Like "Dig route" for example. That I figured out by going back on clips to see what the WR was actually doing physically. Pretty sure now it's like the old "down and in". Correct me if I still have that wrong please.

This won't make you feel any better.  Because he was drafted 45th overall - it looks like they didn't want him in the 2nd round either. ?

They almost did the same thing to Nick Chubb when they used their 1st of two 2nd round picks on OG Austin Corbett.

Oh I was fully aware of them passing over Chubb for Corbett and cussing up a storm until they took Chubb next.

I don't get to cuss them live this year since I'll be in San Antonio entertaining sister in law and her husband down from Lexington, Mass.

I'll save it for later after I google up the results.?

Yeah, that was quite the head scratcher at the time Aggies.  Would you believe Carolina gave Corbett (who started at OG for a SB champion) a big contract to remain there this year?   The Browns just overwhelmed him early with making him learn the Center, Guard and Tackle positions.  It's a hard enough adjustment going from college to the NFL let alone making him know all the different assignments on the line that fast.  Think about it, he's a starter his team valued enough to pay him enough to stay as a part of their plan.  This is his 8th season already.  This league has instant impact guys; but it also those that take a little more time to develop...

Yep, I knew the TT stunt but setting depth by carrying the guard deep into the center as part of it is a new term for me. Thanks and keep 'em coming.

That’s excellent. Short, engaging and informative. “TT stunt” and “setting depth” are terms football fans may have heard before but maybe didn’t know what they meant, and this succinctly explains it.

I can’t wait to see what you do with Oline play. Few things fire me up at the beginning of a play than seeing a pulling guard.

There's a lot more that could be added. So even with this detail, there's greater depth I could add.

Especially when it's a 5 man protection and how the interior C/G combo identifies the IDL they'll double. In this case Kamara drew the RG only and it worked perfectly.   The attack method is still the same, drive the inside shoulder of the guard and aim for the hip of the center.

Thanks, man.  I'll have more on the Oline play after pre-season week 3 and into the regular season when shit gets real real.  Right now my biggest disappointments on the line are Jenkins and Zinter.

Appreciate it.  It isn't as rough or raspy as it was, maybe I need to go back to smoking and drinking ?

Yeah, I was able to see how he did it and why it worked and also how RDT was able to leave his man stranded so in effect the LG became part of the other two taken on by Kamara. He could not get around the deep drive on them fast enough to have any chance at stopping the RDT. Fun play to watch and just wait until it involves Garrett becoming a part of it all and left one on one with the LT. "Meet at the QB "as they say.?

  • Haven't had much sleep, so the tail end of this video suffered.  I'll get better as I go... between the storyboarding, scripting, editing, delivery, pacing etc etc.   This one was slightly rushed, not quite as detailed as I would have hoped.  But I think you'll get a lot of the idea.

Hopefully everyone enjoys.   I have to crash and get some much needed sleep, been up almost 24 hours.

GREAT job TJ!   Excellent use of the pre-snap formations in the video as well as what's happening with the matchups within the progression the QB is looking at. The interpretation of it all was spot-on in the RT9 you shared. Way to Run it Man!   There aren't a lot of lefties starting at QB in this league so I've been wondering if there's been any issues with dropsies from the receivers at practice. 4 of the 5 QBs on the Browns are right handed; so their spirals come into the Receivers' hands with a clockwise rotation/spin.  Then Gabriel comes in and his throws all have the opposite counter-clockwise spin. It didn't seem to be a problem in the game, which was refreshing.

I watched the first half of this 3 times. I wouldn’t normally do that but my goal is constructive criticism.

You’re in to some 400 level college level football speak on this. Have you ever read any old literature that’s tough to digest? Shakespeare? Poe? Homer?

You read an entire page and then realize you didn’t understand any of it because you’re hung up on some passage on the page before it.

“Curl to flat, attaches to the hook.” “Chasing shallow drag.” “Farside flood.” “Receivers are running mesh.” I wrote those down because those were those things for me.

It’s wildly educational. I went back and eventually understood some of it based on context. There was much rewinding involved, which might be ingenious because that’s basically what you’re doing and it teaches others how to do it too.

But l would argue it’s a small percentage of football fans that are going to hang with that.

The points made were solid. Being a short QB is a disadvantage. the film breakdown and the ways you pointed it out were spot on.

The last half was dodgy and you acknowledged that. All of it coulda been said in 30 seconds or less. That’s the sort of thing AI or an English nerd could help you with.

Wanting to give as much detail in my commentary as possible while walking another line that less is more.

I'll continue working to find that balance, just keep the feedback coming.  I have another post about Cameron Mitchell and his struggles you can check out.

The big topic is Shedeur. I'm actually posting every single one of his throws with analysis and recap. About 3/4 done and should have it completed by tonight or tomorrow morning.

In getting the upload ready, I saw similar channels giving breakdowns (hate that word) as far back as Saturday night.

For 99.9% of these guy, the all-22 wasn't even available until 9am the next day.  How the fuck does anyone believe theyre giving the right critique, especially of a QB, when you literally don't have the whole picture?

Like I said, everyone is in a rush to be first and loudest. I want to be the most comprehensive and accurate.

Edit: That reminds me, I dont want to forget about TBB group. So I'll probably just end up making a seasonal RT9 thread and repost the twitter/youtube links in it.  I know a lot of people dont social media and I don't blame them at all.

As the channel matures, you may want to segment videos into something like 'RT9 Pro Series', and 'RT9 All Aboard.' This manages expectations on the viewer side, while giving yourself direction when you make the video.

In the meantime, I will be blissfully unaware about every one of the terms you used, while still coming away with the sense that I learned something ?

  • tia-if you explain to the ones who understand it all that they have to patiently listen to extra explanatory points for those not as well versed, 90+ % will get that and all will appreciate the efforts.?

You're onto something here.  I love and will utilize this suggestion.

I'm hoping it's a little more than just 'a sense'  ?   but thanks all the same.
