  •  Didn't watch it, but if Arch Manning is on there he's dropping like a stone.

Silver bullets are fucking him up and down the field.

OSU is trying to give the game away now.

    No sir.

If Ohio Stadium still had natural turf the groundskeepers would be replacing divots all over from all the worm burners Manning threw today

LSU-Clemson is on TV tonight at 7:30pm. Nussmeier & Klubnik.  One somewhat meaningless irony of this match-up at Clemson tonight is they call their home field Death Valley and the only other college football program that does the exact same thing is LSU.  That said, they both take a great deal of pride in that name to the extent they have a game day tradition with it all.

If what I saw from Klubnik against Georgia, if there wasn't massive improvement against match coverage, I'm looking at LSU.

It's only week 1 but it looked like the same Klubnik as the 1st 3 seasons.  He had nice stats last year and even other years but that's junior varsity football compared to the other 2 conferences right now.

I'll say this again, when Kirby Smart arrived at the UGA - that football program stopped losing the top recruits in GA to Clemson.  Prior to that, Clemson could beat Bama and/or Ohio State in the college football post season.  Today?  They'll just beat most of the ACC Teams - although Florida State duddn't look like a gimme at all

Nussmeier looked good once he settled in.  This morning, ESPN showed the TD pass he didn't get credit for that they thought he should have been credited for.  It was pretty easy to agree with them.  I didn't know college football put Cheech & Chong in charge of Instant Replay.  Stay tuned while they stay stoned...

Yeah that was laughable. Stay tuned we will hear Dabo pounding the table when they pretty much run the table (they will trip up a winnable game somewhere) “we played LSU to a one score game back in August”.  Nevermind he has the more guys back than most of the contenders.

Nussmeier looks like he’s the most pro ready QB.  I’m watching Sellers now, VATech and Pry have a nice scheme and gameplan going for this matchup but he’s all check down and running for his life.  He has the big arm and mobility that scouts love.

Julian Sayin.  The release and accuracy were great.  Even on the TD pass he didn’t overthrow Tate like most QBs do he put it up and let guy make a play.  I thought he put the ball right in the spot to optimize YAC.  He’s a San Diego guy too.  Brian Sipe again?  We seem to have affinity for shorter QBs

? Well said!  Another guy nobody is talking about yet that I want to keep my eye on ASU's Jim Leavitt. He doesn't enter this year with gotta-have stats. I don't know a lot about him but I watched a game where the playbook called for a lot of cup protection in pass pro.  The problem was that cup had more holes in it than a mesh shirt.  He was getting swarmed but escaping it all with poise, completions and scrambles for 1st downs. I kept thinking this kid would be really fun to watch if they could give him better protection.  I decided that obviously wasn't gonna be today so I changed the station.  Ready for this?  The hollow dome talking to you here changed the station on what turned out to be a very a exciting Peach Bowl in the first round of the BCS Playoffs.  It was a double OT 39-31 loss to Texas.

I could go either way with Carson Beck; but I'm thinking he's too risky along with the hot and cold polarity.  There were 2 versions of Brett Favre - 1 that played in Atlanta in between the meeting naps and Happy Hours; and 1 that had got the coaching he needed in GB to make it all work and win.  They nick named Favre "Wild Thing" early on in GB because of all his risk taking in the pass game.  I get the feeling Carson Beck wouldn't get the same type of trust but I could be wrong there.  For now, Miami seems happy he wore out Kirby Smart's patience.  I'm not a big Kirby Smart fan so I wouldn't mind it at all if Beck had a great year for Miami.

SC Gamecock QB LaNorris Sellers looks like he has some Air McNair in his game.  The question is how often does he hold that hostage?

It's been a fun 1st weekend of college football.

  • It will be interesting to see if Carson Beck can come back from the dead and get himself back into talks of first round projections. Miami beat what was considered a potential national champion contender Notre Dame last night.

I didn't get to see the LSU/Clemson game, or South Carolina/VTech, so I didn't get to see Nussmeier, Klubnik or Sellers.

Lee Corso went 6 for 6 in his last College Gameday picks. Cool way to go out.

Not so fast, my friend... indeed.
