QB and then Carnell Tate, Tackle in the second and I’d find the other tackle in the offseason with that 3rd round pick (Trade). That addresses the major wounds we have on offense.  You may actually see Judkins perform really well with this setup too.

So here's the million dollar question if you consider what this QB class probably looks like:

Who is this QB you'd take with the Browns first pick in the first round? There's possibly Mendoza, then? And I don't think the Browns are going to be drafting #1 or even #2 this coming draft.

I am not assuming it is just Mendoza.  I think there is some football left to evaluate what is available - thankfully with this playoff you see more of the prospects play good competition.

Example: Mendoza against Patricia and against talent better than his own.  Maybe Simpson in the same spot.

    Maivia against Iowa

    Nussmeier against Bama.

    Dante Moore Oregon playoff run.

and then meeting with these guys and putting their mental ability to the test l.

Id have a hard time taking Fano because we need a tackle if we find someone suitable at QB.

I said it last year don’t pick a QB because you need one at #2.  We were also staring at Shedur and Dart.  If it’s just Mendoza and we can’t get him - I’m more inclined to stay away from the position again.

But I tend to think this group is little better.  If I’m being homer shoot me but if we want to wait Julian Sayin looks the part accuracy release and movement in the pocket.

  • What I'd like to see is hitting the oline early then finding a decent QB in round 2 or 3.

However, whenever the draft rolls up so does the QB hype and we do need one.

In a perfect world the Browns first three draft picks would be a QB, OTackle and Wide Receiver in no certain order.

You are right about the QB hype train, but IMO beyond Mendoza the only guys that could get pushed up to the top of the first rounds are guys like Dante Moore of Oregon, Ty Simpson of Alabama and LaNorris Sellers of South Carolina.

Those three guys combined will have about 60 college starts at the end of the season, with Sellers having the most with somewhere in the mid 20s. I know Todd McShay has said that 35 starts seems to be what you want at a minimum.

There isn't any way Cade Klubnik (Clemson) or Garrett Nessmeier (LSU) are getting up that high into the first round. They are most likely Day 2 (Rounds 2/3) guys. Drew Allar from Penn State might fall into Day 3 at this point.

  • If the only 2 sure QB's in this draft [mendoza, simpson] are off the board before the Browns pick, I have a hard time passing up Arvell Reese in the top5.  Sometimes you have to pick the most talented player.. he is going to be a many-time all-pro, and just like Micah Parsons he can start today at both LB and edge rusher.  Clips of him fucking up 300# OL are not safe for work.

  • Don't look now but Arch Manning is starting to look like the QB everyone was expecting him to be. Against a pretty decent Vandy defense he went 25 of 33 for 328 yds and 3 TDs with O ints. 2nd good game in a row. Keep an eye on him after a bye week when they play at #5 Georgia. Then we'll know if he's worth a top pick.

    Maybe in the 2027 Draft.

I don't want to use a top 5 pick on a QB with less than 20 college starts if he would be foolish and come out after this season.

    Reese is a beast.

I can't believe how well the Buckeyes defense has played this year. Yes, the schedule hasn't been daunting, especially with Texas and Penn State underperforming this season, but considering the amount of starters the Buckeyes had to replace, wow.

And Knowles leaving was a blessing in disguise.

  • McCarthy was assumed to be much more sure thing than basically anyone 2026, and all the questions are being asked about him now.  IMHO it's all Sayin in 2027 -- so just pure BPA in 2026.

If the first two rounds are a top OT, whatever top D prospect falls and best remaining OL at the top of rd2, that's a win and hopefully all will be starters.  Currently [per NFL.com] it's #6 and #20 in rd1.

FWIW, the questions never stopped about Darnold until he went to a place where success was possible.  Now, he's at the 2nd place where success is possible.  This is really McCarthy's 1st year so there will be growing pains in and around injury.  I don't know if he'll be what they wanted or not - but to make any conclusions just yet are premature imo.  Once upon a time Tampa was the place where guys like Steve Young & Doug Williams were labelled busts until one was traded to Bill Walsh and the other was traded to Joe Gibbs.  Those bust labels disintegrated.

There better be at least two OLinemen in the upcoming draft, and I'd love to get another stud LB to complement Carson Krautbacker.

Not sure about Sanders, it seemed to happen on Thursday(?). I'm ready for him to play when he's ready to play. I want to see him play this year, but I don't want to rush him. I want to see him when he has a chance to actually play well.

For him to play well.  He needs way better players and coaches around him.

Misread by me so this is an EDIT:  If you were talking about Gabriel I would say Elevator cleats wouldn't hurt either.

  • Does anyone really believe that Andrew Berry and crew can actually evaluate talent at the QB position ?  How many pro bowl players has he drafted ? This organization needs a total house cleaning. For the last 50 years it’s been the same circus, different set of clowns !

  • Browns have to take QB in the first round. They messed up QB this year with so many on the roster, and they’re still stuck with Watson, who will never start again.

I can’t imagine a more toxic locker room. Cleveland media has prayed for Dillon Gabriel to be injured. Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco requested trades. You need to go all in on your QB and draft him in the first with the five year guarantee.

LaNorris Sellers would be my pick. Then get WR Carnell Tate, IOL Connor Lew, CB Julian Neal, S Zakee Wheatley, Edge Akheem Mesidor, LT Fa’alili Fa’amoe, LB Jake Golday, RB Hollywood Smothers, TE Joe Royer.

You need an elite WR, and you can’t land any in FA. IOL is your weak spot. Cam Robinson is not a long term starter, but Fa’amoe is an improvement and a draft steal. You need a CB after trading away Newsome, but you have Denzel Ward. Last year’s draft was a home run except for the Galaxy brain idea to draft two QBs. But you’re set at RB and TE.

Yes, thanks for blowing the lead Jaguars.

The Saints & Jets got up to 2 wins.   And the Dolphins got out of the 2 win bracket.

We're tied with the Jets, Raiders, Giants & Saints with 2 wins while the Titans have 1 win.  Eventually we do play the Titans.  Perhaps we can start Sanders against them so as to insure victory for the Titans.

Look at Julian Sayin's 2025 as a 1st year starter for the Buckeyes. Just sayin...

McShay is one of the better evaluators of college talent around. Guess I'll have to catch a Bama game soon to see what he's talking about. And how much of it has to do with a bunch of 5***** OL's in front of him? We know that can make a difference.
