The Official Browns vs 49ers Game 12 Thread

The motion to TE sneak is something the Browns have done multiple times with success this year. Fannin did it in week 1 and we cheered.
I doubt the bulk of you remember that.
The difference between brilliance and stupidity is if something worked. If you execute like week 1, it's an easy conversion.

To me the reason it’s stupid, even if it has worked before, is the TE is doing something he’s not used to. He might do it 2-4 times a year. And maybe 1-2 times a week in practice.
The QB has been taking those snaps since he was 8 years old. -

I have no issue with the play that was called, IMO it was the location on the field where he went for it on 4th down.

This team is 3-8.
We keep hearing they have "nothing to lose" that's a "nothing to lose" call.
If i search this board, I promise I'll find a ton of "if they lose it's fine, just don't lose scared"
They were aggressive, to a fault. Have to live with it.

It was a desperation move by Kevin.
He’s looking for anything that can save his ass.
Notice how that play took the life out of the team?

This also isn't just the Browns. It's a league wide trend. You saw it just a little over a week ago with Mark Andrews and the Ravens.

And had it worked, you're saying it would have given the team life?
It's a constant tit for tat. Can't want it both ways.

How many times has everyone on this board said “Great Call” compared to everyone saying “Horrible Call”
Kev has to go
Considering the bulk of fans on this board exist to only bitch, it isn't the benchmark of reality you'd like to use.
Most fans don't compliment when things go well. But when they dont...? Holy fuck.

You seem to be one of the more knowledgeable posters here, do you think Kev should stay?

Exactly the game was still within reach, just trust your defense although ST could’ve messed up the punt return lol.

I am in the minority maybe but losing and seeing Sanders play solid while bad 4th down execution and special teams literally costing the game against a good SF team as a win win situation.
We need more than one OT and Carnell Tate if he is available

I appreciate that.
I suppose I can only answer that by saying, much like with Joe Woods, removing Stefanski must come with a clear plan. A plan both coaching and with roster construction.
I'm not arguing that Stefanski is elite. That said, when the roster is even remotely capable, we've been a playoff team. Hell, had the defense not been league worst on the IDL in 2022, he would have another wildcard berth under his belt.
Replacing Joe Woods wasnt enough. Had Schwartz been brought in and not received the massive infusion of talent with it, those 2023 results would not have been the same. They brought in Tomlinson, Ogbo and Hurst.
Obviously I'm damn grateful for Schwartz being brought in. But the mindset to comprehensively fix the problem, top - down, was kept in mind.
So many HCs bring in their own staff. So speaking of Schwartz, if Stefanski is let go, the likely hood Schwartz going with him is strong. It wouldn't be just your head coaching you lose.
A massive infusion of offensive talent is also a silent admission that not only the roster is a significant problem, the front office has let it decay to that point (like they did prior)

It sucks because my instinct is to want to win. But, long term, the higher draft picks are the most necessary and intelligent strategy.

Well after 3 games... I can honestly say "Shiddur" isn't the answer... He has 0 field vision... Misses many open field targets.. I can't take it anymore...
