The 2026 NFL DRAFT QB derby watch!

We found Wyatt Teller for a fifth round pick. I’d take a shade under that for a fourth
Some teams have fire sales... I get it..

I agree Definitely a thin market but 80 or 100 percent turnover with this oline and three or four of which being incoming rookies replacing those guys is a recipe for disaster. Keeping Teller and adding another experienced piece is a must.
And how about when 1 Harbaugh brother in Baltimore saved another Harbaugh brother with Defensive Coaches from the Ratbird scheme. Before that Jim Harbaugh was O for Urban Meyer. After that, Mike MacDonald was hired off Baltimore's staff onto Jim's Staff as DC in Ann Arbor. Once he was hired as a HC in the NFL, it was Jesse Minter's turn to get hired as the DC at TCUN. After he went with Jim Harbaugh to be DC of the Chargers - Ratbird Defensive Asst - Don "Wink" Martindale was hired as DC. Who's the farm club here - the Ratbirds or TCUN? That's a pretty complicated scheme that took NFL teams a while to crack. It was actually developed by Martindale but MacDonald and Minter seemed to use it more efficiently.
I don't think this is against any rules - but TCUN likes to challenge the boundaries with only wrist slaps and unofficial asterisks for cheating...
I’ll give the weasels some credit they have had some foundational pieces to build a defense. Advanced “scouting” cheating department to aid that too. They have been stout upfront the last 4-5 years and have played smart in secondary. This year I think is another story.
Winks all out blitz scheme will be interesting. Sayin can feast with quick throws and of course OSU has generational talent on the outside and Michigan (watch the USC game) doesn’t tackle well this season and has had some communication issues in the secondary.

Considering he’s a free agent when this season ends, yes, just you.

If we aren’t on a QB. Picks 1/1/2 should be OL,WR,OL. I’d dangle the 3rd round pick for a veteran Olineman and then I absolutely agree on Teller we need him back. If you can trade back and secure some ammo for next years QB draft class all the better.
you can’t have 60 percent of your line having never played an NFL snap.
You need a QB for 26. Who and what no clue.
edit: don’t laugh 26 QB Watson with a new play callerProbably just me, but I'm thinking I would be open to a trade - Njoku for a very good OLineman or WR.

Gorka, you want to help him out with an idea here? We know how much you adore talking about the Browns. The last time they went 11-5 - you were so excited we saw you about 3 times in here that season. That said, 1 of those visits was because you wanted to bellyache that Myles Garrett won Defensive Player of the Year over your TJ Watt...

By beating the Raiders we went backwards in the Fernando sweepstakes. We could wind up in a situation where it would take both of our #1's to get him. We really need at least one of those #1's to be OL or WR.

Depends on how much they like him, who ends up ahead of us and if the Jets want him - because they have tons of high picks.
Best case scenario is that Sanders shows the Browns enough to let him start next season and you use the picks to build up the offense, and if he doesn't seem to be the guy go after a QB in what should/could be a deep QB class in the '27 Draft.

Per the part in bold above - well said. TN only has 1 win; and I'm guessing their 1st overall pick from this year isn't looking any better than Shedeur Sanders or Dylan Gabriel. However, he's had more opportunities to do so and their HC got fired for the results.
I think the Mendoza ship has already sailed. The 3 consecutive 1st round picks the Browns previously gave up as well as the 2 second round picks could have had the Browns deeper/younger at OL and better at WR. The thought of getting careless with 1st round picks again could park this team right where it's at. Not only that, the rookie QB would be shark bait in bloody water. It would be a culture shock to what Mendoza is used to at Indiana.

This might be a place to put this. Here's where it stands in the competition for the 1st pick overall:
Titans 1-10
Raiders 2-9
Jets 2-9
Giants 2-9
Saints 2-9
Bengals 3-8
Browns 3-8
Cardinals 3-8
Commanders 3-8
Dolphins 4-7
Vikings 4-7
Falcons 4-7
It's conceivable the Jets could earn the 1st pick overall without needing to trade away any of the FIVE 1st round picks they have stockpiled for 2026 (2) & 2027 (3).... Of those teams above the Falcons, Titans, Commanders and Giants drafted a 1st round QB in 2025. Meanwhile the Vikings deferred starting their rookie QB from 2024 to 2025 due to placing him on IR in the 2024 training camp - so we can put them in the same company. The Bengals, Cardinals and Dolphins have 1st round QBs that always seem to be injured while the Jets have a former 1st round draft pick form another team with a very forgettable 2025 season. The Jets might be better suited playing Fields in the slot or outside with all the injuries they've had to the WR Corps. I'm thinking something along the line that T. Pryor once did to extend his NFL career beyond the dead end it was at. I was the knucklehead that complained the Browns should have tried to sign him last year; and I'm eating that like Pez today.
In conclusion, welcome to the Jets Fernando Mendoza!

With the Jets winning we've moved from #6 to #5.
I predict that we finish 4-13. We'll have to see where that lands us.
I'm hoping that Sanders turns out to be the QB that we can hang our hat on. That way we can concentrate on OLine and WR in the draft. I mean like EVERY FREAKIN' ROUND either an OLineman or a WR.

Let's also get a new HC and ST's coach and hope we can hang on to Schwartz...

That would be great. Sanders has a bigger arm than Gabriel, but I don't know how much his inner clock can improve. He was like that at Colorado. He will have to improve a good bit or the Browns draft a qb with their first pick.

I proposed this two weeks ago but fire Kevin now and promote Schwartz to the interim HC. See how the team responds and give him a leg up on the sweepstakes/punishment in 2026 to win the job.
I do think it is a talent issue. Kevin has proven he can coach at this level and he will be an HC again soon but I think a regime change especially in the front office is necessary at this point.

The best site for draft positions is tank-a-thon.
I can't believe Jacksonville would qualify for the playoffs as of today.
At this point I'm just hoping they fall off, miss the playoffs and give us a pick around 15.

"At the rate he is going, he is set to finish the 2025 season with 27 sacks. Of course, Strahan’s record was broken in 2002, in the final game of the 2001 season. Teams played just 16 games back then. This means Garrett has an extra game in which to aid his journey.
Is that kind of like the * Maris got when he hit 61 in more games than Babe Ruth's 60?

I'm confused where you are taking that from... you quoted an article about Sanders.
But probably not about Myles. I don't recall any asterisks surrounding season records when the NFL went from 14 games to 16 in the 70s.
But I want Myles to beat the record in 16 games.
