Don't care how tall or not a fan is.  (hey, you don't wind up with the ceiling jobs)   I just don't want a short QB.  Thus the 'midget' moniker.

? No need to apologize for the 'midget' moniker unless I lose a mouthful of cold beer reading it.  Still possible; but that'll be more my fault than your's.

I don't want a short QB either.  the irony is if the the 5'7" QB is standing in the same room as the 6'2" QB - yes, that ceiling will be higher for the shorter feller.  Having said that, using bigger ceiling in this QB comparison - countless paid draft analysts had Sanders rated higher than Gabriel.  That was just comparing football skills and perhaps the body frames of each WITHOUT looking at the elephant in the room - Shedeur's dad.

I normally don't care what Colin Cowherd thinks but he had some good perspective about how Deion Sabotaged his son's draft status.  Apparently he made his rounds at the Super Bowl within the last 2 years stating what types of teams he didn't want drafting his son.  As you can imagine, the chronological order of the draft is often set by the records of all NFL teams.  Most of those teams Deion was mentioning/describing needed a QB (and they were drafting where Shedeur could have been selected).  They all avoided Shedeur because they didn't want to deal with Deion - and rightfully so (even though he hasn't caused any problems in Cleveland that I'm aware of).  The shame of it all is Shedeur had a 74% completion percentage - higher than anyone else (but the next closest guy was actually Gabriel with 72.9).  Both started for more than 1 college football program. Shedeuer started 4 years while Gabriel started 5 years + another 6 games in 2021.  Shedeur's OC at Colorado was a former NFL OC & HC. Regardless of people's opinions of Pat Shurmur - he had some success as an OC for the Eagles when he was Chip Kelly's OC (and they led the NFC in scoring and went deep into the playoffs).  Marshall Faulk was another offensive assistant coach there so there wasn't anything leading me to believe the NFL Game - especially Stefanski's offense - was going to be too complicated to understand.  Reading defenses from pre-snap into the progressions is going to favor the rookie getting more coaching and experience with the 1st unit imo.  Worse of all, this organization proved Deion right with its OL and OTs in particular aside from a WR Corps that scares 0 opponents.   Who can get open immediately if/when no blocking upfront warrants a quick pass?  Nobody.

The shame of it all is Shedeur had a 74% completion percentage - higher than anyone else (but the next closest guy was actually Gabriel with 72.9).  Gabriel's numbers were right up there with the top QB's in just about every category  ('cept height)  🙂

As you stated, neither of the Sanders' have been the problem that everyone feared.  Although it's probably because  of what everyone did to them...which was to Stay Away.

That would be nice if Crosby didn't play.  On the other hand, it would be nice if he did play and Shedeur played well in spite of it...

  • Watson designated to return today so he could potentially play in the last 2 wks of the season I think.

    ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  •  Deshaun Watson. Medically cleared to practice.

    WE'RE SAVED!   SUPER BOWL BROWNS!!

One thing I'll say about him....he, Shedeur & the ipad are together on the sidelines quite often in between drives.  And Shedeur has credited Watson on multiple occasions for his helpful tutoring.

  • as much as I get aggravated with Sander's faults, I don't dislike him, and I think he is a better qb than watson. If Sanders can speed up his clock and fix a few very fixable other things, it would be great.

Otherwise, the Browns need to draft a qb with the best traits of Gabriel and Sanders in one guy.

They put watson back in there, I won't even watch the game. Or maybe I will just fast forward every time the offense is on the field.

  • What a perfect way to end this shittastic season!

  • Oh boy, here we go

  • Ahhh Let's alienate the fans some more...

  • My thing with Watson is, when he's in the game he doesn't play smart.  When he takes off running he thinks that he's going to bowl over defensive players instead of sliding.  I want a QB that's smarter than that.  No matter how good you might be, you're no freakin' good on IR.

  • Without looking it up, is this the final year for DW’s contract?

And here would be my question. Are we certain that any QB we draft in 2026 would be any better than a healthy DW? My answer would be no, we are not sure because we know he had success in Houston already. Get him a decent OL and then see what the questions are from there. We improved our DL in one off season and draft. FO needs to do the same with the OL. And I have not been impressed with any of the possible college QB's available in the 2026 draft.

I have zero interest watching Kevin Stefanski and Deshaun Watson try to work together again.

If Stefanski gets fired, the only thing I would get out of Watson starting for the Browns would be seeing the selective moral outrage from the dark corner of this board all up in their feelings again.

But seriously, just no. I'd rather them roll out Sanders all next season and see if he's possibly starting QB material or do the Browns need to draft a QB in the '27 Draft.

If the Browns are going to continue to pretend they're all set at Offensive Tackle - nobody is going to work at QB. How many games do we have to watch from Flacco to Gabriel to Sanders to see a WR Corps without a legit #1 WR without ANY pass pro from the Tackles. The sum of crap is none of our WRs get open immediately to bail QBs out of the hopelessness. NEXT YEAR, maybe people will listen to me when I say we need to improve LT (as well as RT).

I understand Dawand Jones went to Ohio State; BUT I also understand they were smart enough to realize that ain't a LT or a high effort guy.  Bill Callahan's reaction to Jones showing up at about 400 pounds to his 1st NFL Training Camp was this is your response to getting an ideal opportunity in the NFL?  That's not an inner chest a REAL FO would lean on but here they are 3 IR visits later summing up surgery went well we hope he returns to pre-injury form (countless all you can eat buffets?). Good luck with that...
