Currently our 2025 first round pick is....

Depends on what you would have to give up and how much you love the QB @syd...
But I get what you are saying, the Browns offense needs too much to have to give up high picks to move up and get Mendoza. Jacksonville gave up a very high second rounder last draft and a first rounder this draft to move from #5 to #2.
I'm close to officially advocating for the Browns to go into next season with Shadeur Sanders as the starter (need to see him finish this season first) and use this offseason to go balls to the wall in fixing the offense. After next season, you decide if Sanders is the QB for the long-term or you get a QB in what should/could be a much better QB class in the '27 draft class. (I know, I know. I said THIS coming draft would be a much better QB class than the last one.)
Next year is going to be another throw away season, so do you keep stef for another year ? and yes i am going to roll with one of our rookies next year with #4 as the back up

I think it’s time for a new head coach. I don’t blame everything on Stefanski, but I can’t see how someone survives back-to-back 3-14 seasons.

well last week going for it on 4th down and today for what ever stupid reason going for 2 was just asinine

So what the heck was Stef thinking when going for 2 and not taking 2 extra points?
Post game press conference: When down 14, it tells us where we stand. (something to that affect) I believe the Go For Two Analytics Crowd thinks that you'll probably be successful in at least one of the two attempts. And if you're successful on the first attempt then you can win the game with another TD. And if not on the first attempt, then odds are you'll be successful on the 2nd attempt. Bad luck. They both failed. The first one didn't get off the ground, literally. And the in the 2nd attempt Judkins was supposed to give it to the WR headed in the opposite direction...but I THINK Judkins was thinking, I'll take it in myself...and then realized, wait, they're all over here waiting for me. Oh Shit! Now what do I do? (um, that's why you were supposed to give it to the little WR...because the play was designed for everyone to follow YOU)
That's what I think the thinking(s) were.

I think we've got another year of just 2 QB's to take high in the draft...and I expect us to be at #3. With the Raiders at #2, nobody is prying that draft pick from them. And with the Giants at #1, the Jets have too much fire power for us to match to get to #1 overall.

With our first pick, I want a dynamic addition. A probable All-pro kind of player at their pick.
Which is a list of 3 for the Browns.
Carnell Tate, WR
Francis Mauigoa or Spencer Fano, OT
Caleb Downs, S
Downs has been compared to....Troy Pollyneeds2takeapoopoo of the steelers. He may even go top three.
It's a terrific draft for WR's. So, I could get a wr later in the second round.
So, Fano needs more strength, I guess, but has a very high upside.
I love the power and agility that Mauigoa has. both are considered to be future franchise OT's in ability.
So, here's my best goofy guess.
............................
1a - Francis Mauigoa. Big man, OT, powerful, agile - he is my Wirfs OT pick.
1b - trade up and get Tate. That is assuming Caleb Downs goes before the Browns pick. He is THAT great.

We're up to #3 with the Titans beating the Chiefs.
Next week the Raiders & Giants face off. That moves us up to #2...provided they don't Tie. I don't think that either team will beat their final opponents (Chiefs & Cowboys) so I guess I'd rather have the Giants picking 1st and thus would want the Raiders to beat the Giants.

supposedly he’s staying at South Carolina
The best NFL QB ever to come out of South Carolina is Spencer Rattler.. so he must be aiming for a UDFA slot.

We need someone besides Berry or Jimmy picking a QB that high
It doesn't matter who the owner or GM is... if you need a QB, there's literally only one QB in this class anyone would consider.

BINGO! This looks like a good spot to put some thoughts.
The Patriots were 3-14 during Drake Maye's rookie year. The final game they won against Buffalo (resting starters for the playoffs) - Maye threw 1 pass and took 1 sack before he was replaced so he won 2 games. As fate would have it - their coaching staff was replaced and the Patriots drafted LT Will Campbell with their 4th pick overall.
Sanders is 6 NFL starts old so YES - he's going to hold onto the ball longer than he should sometimes. That said, we're also seeing him starting to step up in the pocket more than we did early on in spite of the lack of protection on the edges. Aside from that, Buffalo gave Fannin a lot of attention while our WR Corps refused to let the Buffalo Bills down with just 6 receptions in 9 targets for 31 yards. Any wonder why many of us hope the Browns upgrade WR & OTackle with early picks? The problem is when we do the simulator - we don't realize we're drafting RTs (even Mauigoa) while Goosby & Lomu are LTs. I say that because the # of top LTs in this draft are get em early or they're gone. Sorry, I have ZERO control over the supply for the demand. Staying with what he have here has us goin for our 2nd consecutive 3 win season. Ummm, NO THANKS! Just our luck, it looks like our second 1st round pick is going to be very close to the 2nd round.

After seeing the Bills game, surely QB cannot be our first priority. While not ""legendary"" by any means, Shedeur is serviceable enough to give a legit shot. Bot he and the RBs are in desperate need of a better OL in front of them. Would also be nifty if would could stop the run now and then.
So OL, DT and a buddy for Schweinburger? -

So OL, DT and a buddy for Schweinburger?OLine, WR, DTackle and CB would be my major wants this coming offseason. I think Devin Bush has been a real find by Berry. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by him.

My current view: If you (the Browns drafting decision makers) think that Mendoza is the only QB to have with a high pick...AND you think that he's going to be substantially better than Sanders...then make a bid to get him. QB is that important. But with Sanders we seem to have something to build on...so you cannot overpay for Mendoza. We need our draft assets to immediately impact the WR & OL positions.
If the Mendoza price is too high, then pick a player or trade out to a spot where you can still get the best WR or OLineman. Those two positions have to be emphasized throughout the draft and free agency.

Good point about Bush; but let's keep in mind he was a 10th overall pick of the Steelers in 2019 coming out of Michigan after running a 4.43. From what I read a torn ACL in his 2nd NFL season set him back. His dad Devin Bush Sr was a 13th overall pick as a Safety by the Houston Oilers in 1995. Looks like he sports some of the old man's strengths against the pass; because that seems to be where I see him making a lot of plays. I need to pay more attention as to how he does against the run because we have been getting gashed in recent weeks. I think some of this is Schwartz trying to get Myles his sacks at the expense of stopping the run.

....talkin' about the game yesterday:
“Watching this [Browns-Buffalo] game and I swear #68 must have a parlay on this game or something. This guy can’t block the sun. Entire OL is trash though. Shedeur can shoot a [Tide] commercial after this game as much as he’s been on his back,” Owens wrote on X.
....he's got 2 more games to tough-out with that OL.
