There's really no excuse for this. You were supposed to be a 1st round talent.

Ok, I've some questions for Rees.

Good stuff my man. I like it when I come here, or any site and feel like I learned a little bit more than what I knew before opening the site.

Thanks for all the time you put into this between the Holidays! Well done TJ!

Fannin is now 9th overall in rookie TE yardage ever.

I'm not sure what the question is, but early impressions are that Dante Moore ain't the answer.

Right now they are mugging the TT WRs and nothing gets called.

Refs were letting them play. But the TTU offense, specifically the QB, weren't in any position to merit flags.
Bad offense design, bad execution. However, Lee Hunter is an absolute creature.

Moore is really sloppy with the football whether it's handoffs, snaps or pitches. Basic stuff you're not supposed to worry about. Oregon's overwhelmed Texas Tech's offense. TT's Defense was playing well considering the turnovers and short fields they kept inheriting. As the time of possession margin increased in favor of Oregon - TT's D finally gave up a couple TDs. Oregon's D seems to be getting much less credit for that team's success; but that margin of error favor they give Dante Moore means their remaining opponent needs to be aware of it. Indiana probably is - but Oregon seems like a tough team to beat twice imo.

Grab some coffee, whiskey, beer, tea, whatever your choice... and come hang out with us, watch film and talk shop. Tomorrow at 7pm est on discord.

Great stuff per the usual, but watching Moore play you can definitely see why he’s going to be a top 5 pick on potential.
of course, it’s another year of a seemingly overt franchise guy in Mendoza being out of grasp for the Browns. I swear to God before I’m dead the Browns will luck into a #1 overall pick in a draft with a guy like Burrow, Luck, etc.

Dante Moore did about what I expected. Not good.
-
It's why evaluating college QBs is so tough right now... they all play in a spoon-fed offense.

There's that word again fans love to toss around- "scheme". They can't explain it, but somehow it's a catch/cure all for the football IQ.

Good breakdown. Actively always looking for work too.

Carter Smith is not an NFL OT
Great job sharing your analysis Tuesday on the discord. As someone that played OL for 9 years - I think you looked at all the right things starting with his base. His unique pass pro set sure doesn't make it easy on himself. He'll probably get thrown into the pretty big group of Tackles with shorter arms this year making NFL shoppers not comfortable. As I've pointed out the month or 2 this is a VERY SMALL class of guys that will play LT in the NFL (hence my urgency to hope Berry understands the importance of draft preparation for the teams biggest need).
Despite all that, Carter Smith has given up 0 sacks. Therefore, beyond the good luck - there's a scrappy volume of work worthy of praise IMO. Hopefully I didn't just jinx him; because I want them to beat Miami. They can't do it without getting Rueben Bain Jr blocked though.
I'm pretty sure Smith will get drafted by somebody; but I don't know if it will be to play LT (which you pointed with not an NFL OT). Interestingly enough, the Bears drafted 6'8" Tackle Ozzy Trapilo from BC in round 2 in 2025 (who took over the starting job at LT in week 12 before getting injured in the 2nd half of their playoff game vrs GB) but the biggest thing that surprises me here is his short arm length for a guy that height shown below. This guy became pretty damn good for a rookie despite that 33" arm length handicap that give NFL scouts panic attacks. I'm guessing he does some things a lot easier with more fluidity than Carter Smith - but I admire Carter Smith's effort. You don't accomplish giving up 0 sacks as a LT if you're not willing to work for 60 minutes. I wouldn't use a 1st or 2nd round pick on him but in round 6 or 7 to kick him in at OG or try him at RT or maybe even Center? Why not?
