Mike McDaniels new HC?
-
Can't I wishful think it was ANYBODY but this guy (below)? ? I forgot he even existed to the extent I hoped or thought you meant to say Josh McDaniels. This is clearly not HC material so it only makes sense there's a rumor the Browns are interested. His current players don't look like they respect him at all as a HC. Seriously, how can they? No emotion or communication skills. Whenever I see him on TV he's not acting as a Leader of Men. Then I wondered if he ever even played football so I researched a little more and posted what I found below. It IS the Browns we're talking about though...
Not a fan but he regained control of the locker room and obviously player’s respect as they may end up with 7/8 wins compared to our 4/5.

Thanks for your pov MDD; and they have responded since the Browns beat them soundly - so it's definitely worthy of note. I don't question his football IQ/Intellect as much as I question him ever being an ideal fit as a HC. We've always seen Coaches that were better Coordinators than HCs -(ie; Norv Turner, Lindy Infante, Bud Carson, Josh McDaniel, Dennis Allen, Dan Quinn, Brian Daboll, Robert Saleh, Buddy Ryan, Matt Nagy, Steve Spagnuolo, etc).
To me, it's conceivable that players on the Dolphins started playing for their NFL futures/career survival more so than McDaniel's ability to coach it out of his players. He'll be a good Position Coach/Coordinator moving forward under a STRONG HC. I just don't ever see him as an Andy Reid or we wouldn't be discussing it...

Mike McDaniel? No thanks.

McDaniel for OC, absolutely. McDaniel for HC, no way.
I have no interest in the HC retreads who got canned or are about to get canned: Daboll is an idiot, Glenn, McCarthy etc.
Any interest in Mike LaFleur, OC of the Rams for HC? Worked for the Browns in 2014 as an offensive intern for Kyle Shanahan's one year as OC. Shanahan took him to Atlanta in 2015-2016, then Shanny took him to the 49'ers 2017-2020. He's been McVay's OC since 2023. I imagine he's learned quite a bit from those two.
-
Plus McDaniel has struggled with depression and drinking. Being head coach of the Browns is probably going to send him into a weekly relapse.

Him & Flores would be my top choices.

so Stefanski wins our last 2 games vs division foe's, Team did not quit on him, so for the haters don't be surprised if he is our coach next year

only because of the defense, that isn't Steflunski's doing, they won them despite him. 1 td vs the steelers, 0 offense tds vs the Bengals. and the Browns got 0 TDs vs the steelers the first time they played them.

so a shit offense has nothing to do with trading away all those picks and giving that dude 240 million guaranteed. nope I guess note

wait, that is a completely different story, of course that stupid deal screwed over the Browns, But not drafting olinemen and wr's they should have drafted has nothing to do with that stinking, dramatically asswholish trade.

I'd take John Harbaugh in a heartbeat.

I would prefer they fire Berry and keep Stefanski, rather than keep Berry and fire Stefanski, but.....something about Kevin's demeanor in talking to the press, makes me think he wants out.

Berry isn't going to fire himself. And most people, regardless of status and title, are too soft to take accountability and will punch down.

When do Head Coaches get to pull rank on GMs and orchestrate such trades like that? And who gave Watson the GUARANTEED money - the Head Coach? You think it was Stefanski? When I saw a press conference where Andrew Berry corrected a female reporter with a very sparky "I DIDN'T DRAFT BAKER MAYFIELD" - I knew they were done with Baker. He was the plan of Dorsey so here came the ego of a the new GM about to get what he wanted very soon - and sending Baker packing in the process. That GM wanted his own QB and giving up all those draft picks to get him - Berry neglected building the OL via the draft. The ones he did pick have often been deemed in active for games. The situation became so bad in recent weeks that Zinter has finally been active the last few weeks or so. I don't think Berry has what it takes to build a team. He inherited Garrett, Ward, Njoku, Bitonio, Teller and Chubb - more specifically - the Pro Bowl Nucleus
If I'm a young QB prospect looking at teams that might be drafting a QB - I'm praying Andrew Berry doesn't want me for the Browns without any talent protecting the passer on the edges. Last draft was a blind squirrel finding a nut. Berry needs to go the most IMO. Having said all that, I DO agree things are stale with Stefanski here. I just don't know if firing both the GM and HC at the same time is doable so I'd start with letting Berry go first. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
