When the trade happened I thought there was a good shot at having two top ten picks.

Unless I’m mistaken, the Browns are drafting 6-7 (insert my kids running around like lunatics) depending on the outcome of the Commanders.

Assuming the Jets and Raiders are going Mendoza and Moore, there’s clearly not a 3rd QB worth taking in the top 10. We are however still in a prime position to get an elite OT or WR prospect.

If the prevailing rumors are true that Stefanski might be taking the long walk off a short pier with Berry safe, I’d be pretty surprised if any serious HC candidate signs up for Sanders. I could be wrong, but if the brass goes into that process with “Shadeur is our guy” I don’t think the top candidates are hitching that wagon.

Well due to the Raiders results the last two weeks if we had lost both our games we'd have had the #1 pick but instead we're at #6.....

Thanks to Washington we pick 6th.

I knew that our Jaguars pick was not going to be very high.  They had a difficult year in '24 because they didn't have their QB.  It's just like the Chiefs this year.

However Travis Hunter has been a major disappointment thus far. Played in 7 games with offensive 1 TD and 1 fumble. Defense zero ints. We made a good trade. Graham, Judkins, Sampson and this year the Jags 1st for Hunter,  RB Tuten and S Lane III. Anyone we take in the 1st from them is a bonus IMO.

Cleveland traded the second overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, as well as the 104th overall pick in the fourth round and 200th overall pick in the sixth round to Jacksonville in exchange for the fifth overall pick in the first round, the 36th overall pick in the second round and 126th overall pick in the fourth round. They also received a 2026 first-round pick.

The Cleveland Browns announced they have signed six players to futures contracts.

The following are the six players Cleveland signed to futures deals:

                  1. TE Sal Cannella
                  2. G Jack Conley
                  3. WR Luke Floriea
                  4. RB Ahmani Marshall
                  5. T Tyre Phillips
                  6. TE Caden Prieskorn

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will allow players to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

I just saw an alert that Ty Simpson is entering the draft. Kind of surprising since it seemed he could possibly raise his stock with another year at college, but there’s no guarantees so maybe this will be a good move for him?

That's perfect for us. The first 3 picks all need a QB, which should push the talent pool down 1 pick, giving us a better chance to get our guy.

And I'm not too keen on Ty Simpson. Watched him a lot. He's got issues with the deep ball, he's not very good at improvising when the play breaks down, and he easily gets rattled with pressure.

Dante Moore struggled and he is the presumptive QB2.  So Simpson, in a weak QB class, is banking on his film looking better game over game than Moore's.     Or, at least, QB3 is still a 1st round pick.

For the Browns sake, I sure hope not.   I've had my fill of 6ft tall white boys who can't handle edge pressure.

all of the Browns picks need to be the kind of player Joe Thomas was, and Bitonio.....etc.

I like the kid, but his play really regressed towards the end

He's woefully inexperienced. He should have gone back for his senior season.

I've had way too much time on my hands lately - but I mentioned Moore was very sloppy with securing the football last week.  He had issues with simple basics that QBs repeat all throughout practice every day like handoffs and taking snaps.  Anyway, here's a little Google instead of Flugel:

Nah...there'd have been some sort of glitch in the universe so that that wouldn't have happened.

edit:  To respond semi-intelligently, if we had lost both games and possessed the #1 pick we would be a much more appealing Head Coaching opportunity.  Candidates would know that they'll have Mendoza as their QB.  It's bad when we lose...and it's bad when we win.

The Miami/Ole Miss game started off slow but turned into a barnburner. Fun game, Miami pulled it out. Beck looked sharp down the stretch.

I recall he was a top QB prospect, and then he wasn’t, but now his stock is rising again.

Did a search on him and this story popped up.

You may be right. The pros are a major step up, and there is talk of him not being explosive in his cuts, getting off the los in the pros. But every single player that comes out in the nfl draft has "negatives" in their draft profile, unless there is one I missed.....he's supposed to run a 4.6. Tyson is explosive, runs 4.5, but has injuries in his past... down the list though, there is Chris Bell and other wr's, with track speed and serious skills.

I still wonder how you pass on Caleb Downs with their first pick, the wr, except we desperately have to fix the oline, except.....

                                        dammit. This draft is crazy.

I love Downs, but he seems more like a luxury pick at this point, given our glaring needs at WR and OL. With that being said, Tyson isn't just an explosive receiver. He can play in the X,Y and Z role. Something we haven't had in a long time. There is also a very good chance Tate drops in the late 1st.

And like Flugel stated, guys like Lomu will be available late 1st/early 2nd for our OLine.

It's a tight rope with LT though because when I'm looking at all these lists of prospects - they're listing guys like Fano, Mauigoa, and Dunker as LTs and none of them played LT this year (for reasons their coaching staffs knew best).  If you need the prospect offering the best blind side protection for QB - there's a lot of teams needing this that will go for it in round 1 (and they may be gone by the time we get to the draft pick from the Jax trade).  If the Browns want to give their young QB a true evaluation - they gotta get this protection to be legit and reliable.  It's a gigantic dynamic for the passing game.

This draft has some good LTs but the limited supply for the big demand will have many labelling it a weak OTackle draft.  It can be as strong or weak for the Browns as the FO chooses to make it.  The scary thing is I don't have a lot of faith in Andrew Berry's ability to build the OL via the draft.  He's had 1 good draft where all the stars and planets aligned for once; but he's also a huge reason our OL and WR positions are unacceptable.

I welcome the only Defensive Coordinator to earn a Superbowl Ring in New Orleans while understanding Revenge of the Nerds is a sequel. "Come get some!"

                                          LT/RT....who cares.  We need both.

So, if we are drafting for need, which Berry indicated we will since he said there would be a high concentration on the offensive side, I take the best player available.  If it is a RT, take him.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
