you know I have said this before, But if they were serious about Schwartz they would have fired Stefanski weeks 8-12 ? and made him the interim coach, why some of you are so shocked is beyond me

I was initially anti on the hire. After listening to Ross Tucker on 92.3 The Fan, I'm more optimistic.
Conference USA Coach of the year after inheriting a winless team. OC at Georgia, who were known as a defensive team, he got them offense. Did a good job with the dreaded Ratbirds.
Let it play out. Our frustration is the FO. Maybe they got something right for once.

There are three reasons why Scheelhaase is the best fit for the Steelers. The first is his offensive mind. As the pass-game coordinator with the Rams, he's worked closely with head coach Sean McVay, offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur and star quarterback Matthew Stafford. Together, they've been one of the best aerial attacks in the NFL over the past few seasons.
That type of experience is worth its weight in gold, especially in a head coaching search. Scheelhaase's keen eye and attention to detail have been instrumental in their offensive success, and that's exactly the type of mind the Steelers need running their team.
Scheelhaase also has a history of developing quarterbacks. He was a QB for the University of Illinois and still holds the record for total offensive yards with over 10,000 in his collegiate career.
Aside from himself and helping Stafford sustain his success later in his career, Scheelhaase is also credited with helping develop San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy while at Iowa State University. The Steelers are a team that desperately needs to identify and develop a starting quarterback, and Scheelhaase is the best candidate around to do so."

I agree and if he was 20 years younger there would be some parting in the streets of Cleveland

He will be 1 and done. Take Berry with him too.
And remember... Todd Monken was the guy screaming at coaches on the field how the team was a mess before games back in 19 when he was a postion coach here... I find this highly comical...

He was technically the OC in 2019. Though Kitchens was the play caller, and by some reports dictating the O (ie Monken was OC in title only).

Not shocked, just a lil disappointed.. Nothing this asshat owner does shocks me anymore
as I said the more beers I drink the more i like the hire
edit: honestly I do like the hire over a young coach ( i mean to put him in with a kinda dreadful offense) he would be lost and the fan base would be calling for his head after week 10, better to stick with someone who has been around

This isn’t a move that is going to do a lot to excite the Browns fans. I get it.
But he is a guy whose last year as a college head coach was very successful, then helped transform a Georgia team from a defense first program to one that was explosive enough on offense to win two national championships, then helped Lamar Jackson become a legitimate passer in the pros, but the last year was a struggle.
He’s kind of the anti-Kevin Stefanski. He’s brutally honest and can rub people the wrong way. He’s never going to be considered a “players coach”.
