I like the scat-back types of WRs but we need that big guy out on the hash marks that can truly make a difference. I know they're hard to find.

Al Toon, Mike Evans, Michael Irvin, Randy Moss. Good hands, big, and a passion for the game.

The Browns seem to love the Elijah Moore-types, it hasn't worked outside of Kevin Johnson.

Side note: I thought David Bell from Purdue was a "can't miss" pick. He was amazing at Purdue. Didn't work out.

The Jets were thrilled we could take Elijah Moore off their hands for a 2nd round pick they previously wasted on him.  He wasn't awful here but he wasn't missed.

I remember the 5'9" 179 lbs Brian Brennan with a nutsack below acorn to constantly get open in the inside hook zones and surrounding gray area in a division of where opponents feared the zone blitz while the cement shoed Kosar welcomed it.  That being the case in 1986 (12 wins in the regular season) Brian Brennan led the Browns with 55 receptions while little known RB not named Mack or Byner (Herman Fontenot out of LSU) caught 47 passes in the flats or a little beyond in gray areas. Both guys situational brilliance came almost exclusive on 3rd downs just making the the zone blitz pay.  Of course - how much of that is possible without the cerebral pre-snap brilliance of Kosar after a week's preparation from Lindy Infante? Another thing Brennan did remarkably well was knowing how/when to sit on a route in lieu of running himself into coverage like so many of those after him did.

I doubt Brennan was blazing fast but he had killer good change of direction that worked well in tandem with great hands.  The problem the Browns have today is the guy with the most unchallenged tenure in the organization is terrible at drafting our 2 biggest needs OL and WR; while I'm not in a huge hurry to praise him for his type of QB. YES, the 2025 draft shows us a blind squirrel can find a nut; but do we really want to count on that for much longer?  That's possible because we have the worst owner in the NFL.  It sucks to be honest... It sucks even worst if your owner & GM refuse to be...

  • Why the focus on Oline and receivers?  Their QB was just selected to the pro-bowl.

LOL....people said Stefanski couldn't develop a QB,...looks like he just did.

We may be old. We may be tired.

    But that doesn't mean - we're uninspired...

I like Concepcion a lot too at 15.1 yards per catch and 9 TDs.  I've seen some thinking the Browns will draft Georgia WR Zachariah Branch - very shifty & blessed with stop and go moves.  I'm not wild about his size at 5'10" and 185 lbs; but he looks like a nightmare to tackle in space.

But this guy Jordyn Tyson at 6'2" tall (below) could be an ideal target and weapon for our QB.

  • If Sanders is going to be the go to QB moving on forward, really need to build around him possibly.

  • Here's Joel Klatt's first mock... no surprise, he has the Browns taking an OTackle and WR with their first round picks.

It almost seems like The Cool Story was 'A' reason for mocking the WR to us.  I love cool stories.  I love the storybook outcomes.  But that never works for the Browns.  I'm at the point where, if it's a story book situation for the Browns...then fucking do the non story book thing.  🙂  Our story books are always the ones that nobody would want to read.  But yeah, we certainly need a WR or OL at #24 (and at #6).

That would be a great 1st round; although I wouldn't mind if we got both of the Big Uglies from Utah in round 1 to fill our gigantic openings at OTackle. Then we snag a very talented WR with the 6th pick of round 2.

Tyson's injury history worries me, but if he fell to #24 I could see rolling the dice.

I'm really starting to like USC's Makai Lemon.

Good thinking!   Syd brought him up as well during the season as a guy the Browns should be looking at.  There's going to be some talented WRs on our doorstep at #24 overall or #38.  I think the LTs are going to go REAL fast.  To play LT in today's NFL - one needs to remember the fist syllable of this sport "Foot."   It all starts and ends with the feet, which is WHY Ohio Sate never considered Dawand Jones a LT.  Aside from that, a strong work ethic to work at one's craft is also desired which is why guys like Jed Wills and Dawand Jones (which is why they were oft-injured more than oft-helpful).  My old football coach use to remind us back in the day "If one fails to prepare - he should prepare to fail."  Preparation separated Joe Thomas from all the rest - look no further than the foot work for a guy that size.  Tour used to be a big fan of Joe's footwork and overall body of work on the edge.

Caleb Lomu, while only a redshirt soph, has 2 full seasons of starting.  That said, if one looks at his 2nd full year of starting vrs highlights of his freshman season - the progress reflected hard work.  The ability to move laterally without losing his block is something pretty special.  That said, he's got more development ahead that we call upside out here in white noise central.  We don't want guys that have already played their best football in this draft.  Let's just say, he was good enough as a redshirt freshman to have their HC move Spencer Fano to RT. The thought of adding both these tackles to the Browns makes my football wood factor go from balsa to sequoia. That said, there's other Tackles I like as well.

If you see a Tackle where there's frequently a TE next to him as well as a wing-back or a H-Back 1 yard over and 1 yard back from the outside hip of the TE - research the "why?"   Don't be afraid to see if that's to protect an OT that doesn't have the great feet/base to fly solo on the edge of pass pro.  That will make NFL teams think of kicking him inside at the next level every bit as much as arm length, if not more... Today, in the AFC North - even RTs are going to have to face TJ Wattshisname on the edge of pass pro...
