And freeling shoulder surgery last year.  I don’t like that at all.

I’ll maintain we will have someone there at 24 to fill out the Oline.

we could double down the second day too, but I’d like to at least use one second day pick on a WR (rounds 2-3 sweet spot for WR)

I understand you not liking the injury given how hard it's been getting our projected starting OTackles to complete games and/or seasons. Definitely a concern.

Freeling had the shoulder surgery in January 2025.  If there's a silver lining or temporary one, the best season of his college football career followed in the Fall of 2025. Not only that, he seems like the prospect nobody was mentioning a few months ago to one getting a lot of recent love and praise by draft analysts.  As one knucklehead in the white noise section, I moved him up as far as wanting Lomu or him drafted to play LT here. That said, I'll keep an open mind toward other ideas for that LT spot.

At 6….i want as few (no warts) as possible.

this guy wasn’t a thought until the combine - I’d rather the big guys show out on tape and not just in the underwear Olympics.  Tape is good he was taken to the wood shed a little in the Notre Dame game last year…but just 17 games of tape.

shoulders in heavy contact sports or combat sports I’m no doctor but at 21/22 will that hold up at 25 or 30?

    at 6 no thanks

Appreciate the post!  It's a very important point of concern in a draft that's supposed to be about what projects ahead from the adventures in the rear view mirror.  FWIW, many of the mock drafts circulating out there from Draft Analysts before Freeling even did his physical fitness tests and drills at Indy were already moving him up their pecking order. That's not to say that some didn't do it after the Combine.  I always remind myself the Combine never made Tony Mandarach an elite/good LT - just a REALLY rich young man that later became a reliable starting OG for a playoff team in Indy once he somewhat got his life together (for a little while).

I've noticed a frequent reluctance from many Analysts to specify Left or Right Tackle from the onset of pre-draft talk going into the latter part of the 2025 season when they're listing their top Tackles. Then there's an elite Beast/Warrior like Mauigoa that, according to some Analysts, may only be able to play Right Tackle at best or either OG spot due to arm length or feet/ability to move laterally. Okay, so the tape never confirmed him overcoming Gator arms in the trenches in their studies?  Did it ever show him on his own in pass pro against a quality edge rusher?  And did he pass or fail when it did? How often was there a mini entourage of 2-3 guys lined up to his right?  I've never had all the information to crown Mauigoa as THE guy.  AGAIN, I also understand your reluctance about Freeling enough to join you with no thanks at #6 overall.  I'm going back to my first intuition hoping they draft LT Caleb Lomu.  If it's not him, I think the most underrated LT in this draft class right now is Northwestern's Caleb Tiernan with 43 starts showing polish, experience and battle-tested empowerment on the edge in this 6'7" 325 pound prospect.  Why does that mean anything?  He can be available as early as #24 and possibly as silly as round 3 - which opens the Browns up for using the #6 on something else while they remain confident they can get someone at LT not as hyped up as all the mock draft/hearsay faves out there.

Every OT prospect has a weakness or concern as we head into a draft that isn't deep with starting talent at OTackle or LT in particular. Knowing how often I've bet on the wrong horses in the past, I thought I'd find a sleeper nobody is talking about at LT at this time with Caleb Tiernan. I know if I'm wrong he'll probably get re-named "Teargas" in here so... Do I dare say stay tuned???

  • Most lineman have, even at best, *some* lingering shoulder issues by the time they end their college career.

Touch of arthritis, maybe a shoulder scope, and likely micro tears in muscle at certain points.   So long as there aren't structural or nerve issues, it doesn't really bother me much.

Understood.  But at the same time, I wouldn't mind having my LT be athletic, fast & quick.  Would sure be helpful while  trying to block a guy like Myles.

He’s got great measurables, I’m also intrigued by him.

But he’s got all of 17 college starts and apparently really needs to get stronger. This is too much of a project for me at 6. I’d consider it down the draft a bit.

I'd prefer Fano.  He was quite fluid in the combine drills also...and he can play either Tackle position.  Lomu is also versatile along the OL.  And then there's Intriguing Freeling.  I see Proctor as the consolation prize for not being able get one of the higher rated Tackles.

Absolutely.  Since our season ended and we’ve jumped into draft mode I’ve thought we need major help on the offensive line. You can get there many ways.  We are getting there now in free agency.

I don’t see a blindside protector worth a sixth overall pick but i believe Lomu, Miller, Freeling all or at least one will be there 24.

Reaching at 6 is massive waste of an asset.

If the FO likes ALL of the them too I can’t imagine pulling the trigger on one at 6…no one really stands out to me and Some have questions of being moved inside.  I especially do not want a guard at 6
