Yeah, I think we can 2 very good Tackles by the time we're done with our 2nd pick.  There's a lot of good OGs in this draft as well as college OTs that will play OG in the NFL.  Can't wait!

My concern isn't who is available. It's that the Browns lack the tact to sift through who is available to find the best talent.

Berry, with all of his Ivy League ability, has a proven track record of not being able to find the best football player to fill the need.

That's certainly true of his ability to draft good offensive linemen.

The # of great drafts have eluded him after the tremendous opportunity to learn from Howie Roseman in Philly.

  • First & hopefully last coffee fetcher post of the off season ☕ ?

    GM Andrew Berry staffing

    1) Coffee fetcher ☕ Paul Depodesta moved back to baseball career.. Colorado Rockies (for those concerned)

2.) After Berry's best draft of 6... Longtime (2009) Browns Director of player personal (pulls together all scouted/coaches draftee info to GM) Doughnut fetcher ?.. Dan Saganey..

Takes a job with the Tennessee Titans, a few days after day 3 of Berry's best draft on April 26th 2025

    3.) ? roll please..June 26th 2025.. Andrew Berry promotions of new ☕ .. ?.. chasers ?‍♂️

Browns have promoted Adam Al-Khayyal to director of player personnel after stints as director of pro scouting and assistant director of pro personnel during his 11 years with the organization.

Shaun Herock has returned to the Browns as a senior college personnel advisor. He was previously a scout with the team and has also worked for the Packers, Raiders and Falcons.

    Happy Presidents Day ! ??

(don't shoot the messenger of dream jobs of NFL coffee fetchers ☕)

  • Monken has to be the one to pick/hire the coordinators.  All of the coaches have to report to the HC.  Haslam can be introduced to him upon the DC's fist day of work in the building.

The problem with the Browns is the owner and his relatives.

  • sadly.... we could have had John Harbaugh, who I preferred greatly.

except, he had standards. Other head coaches have told the Browns "not interested".

behind the scenes, the Browns control in the gm and haslam - true leaders won't go with it.

    https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/cleveland-browns/news/its-over-dealbreaker-kept-john-harbaugh-coaching-browns/53c75022c1107239331ed4b7

"As first reported by ESPN Cleveland senior analyst Tony Grossi, Harbaugh’s "prerequisites" for taking any job are significant.

    A $20 million salary, a $10 million staff budget, and--the ultimate dealbreaker--final say over the 53-man roster."

in short, Harbaugh wanted to pick the gm, etc. But no, the browns owner/front office clusterfook will prevail.

I don't know if Monken will be a winning head coach for the Browns, but it seems that any head coach they hire will have to be a follower instead of a leader. and Monken won't be an innovator, I think. We'll see. Monken's offense failed his last year with the ratbirds, not a great look to become a head coach.

Are we starting two rookies on the offensive line or three?

As many as necessary.  We drafted and started 2 rookie QBs last year and 1 of them needed a step stool to see over the line of scrimmage.  Just think if we drafted an Olineman in round 3 instead of the QB. AB drafted ZERO OL in 2025. The current OL lost 14 games in 2024 and 12 games in 2025 - so I'm all for upgrading whatever is needed upfront.  Aside from that, have you looked at how many of our 2025 starting OL are FAs in 2026?   It also looks like Conklin is gone and Dawand Jones comes off his 3rd consecutive season landing on IR followed by surgery (but 390 lbs on a pogo-stick would at least be an alternative to a rookie. Warm fuzzies?)

I HAVE mentioned we could add a FA like RT Braden Smith from Indy (a former 2nd round pick from Auburn).  There's probably FAs at OG we can sign to minimize the number of rookie starters or continue to use Teven Jenkins inside as needed.

    how does this sound?

Day 1 pick on a tackle.

    bring back teller.

Day 2 pick trade for a competent tackle.  Berrys strength seems to trades.  Saw an article about Walker Little this morning.  Well documented that he doesn’t draft lineman well but you bring in someone that can play at this level. So less guesswork.

Spend Day 3 on two interior lineman.

    You’ve added four lineman here.

Thanks!  Looks very good overall!  If we draft a Tackle day 1 and bring back Teller - that's a GREAT stat!

This part we can negotiate some but I like your point about less guess work - Day 2 pick trade isn't a bad thought IF Berry is careful because this is what I learned about Walker Little (below) and it doesn't look like he'd solve our LT problem. However, I think we can go after Indy RT Braden Smith in FA without giving up anything via trade if we used our day 1 pick on a LT.

Great idea with interior OL on day 3.  Here's the draft simulator results I shared previously and I got 2 OGs I like a lot on day 3 Miami's Anez Cooper (he's the house in the #73 jersey that lines up next to Mauigoa) and Texas' DJ Campbell.  That said, how did ND's Malachi Fields last until #248 if me or anyone I was drafting against knew what we were doing?

I’m worried that someone new comes in and say Mason Graham is now a bad fit.

Yeah, multiple D positions can be affected by a new DC and a new scheme.  High draft picks can end up as bad fits.

One classic example is the "turnaround" from 2018 to 2019 of Ohio State's defense..

2018 was the 52-51 win over Maryland and giving up 49 to Purdue among other travesties.  Schiano was DC [with Alex Grinch as co-DC]. That defense couldn't stop a nosebleed even with Chase Young, Jonathon Cooper, Jordan Fuller, Okudah, and Nick Bosa, among others.

2019, with the same players and Hafley coming in as DC, was one of OSU's best defenses ever, with a lot of D guys still in the NFL on their 3rd contract.

Hafley is now HC of the Fins.

At least under Stupanski we got in the playoffs. All we got from Huey was the promised jump in the lake for failure tour.

I'm liking Monken more and more... He's reminding me of Bill Parcells in a big way.... He tells it like it is and doesn't give two shits how people perceive it. He is the anti Shitfanski...

Crank it up Todd!!!    Want me and my band to come down?  🙂

  • Can you imagine the kind of year Monken is having so far?  He was hired.  He then had to interview and hire his staff among intrigue regarding the Defensive Coordinator situation.  While doing that he had to try and get familiar with his new players, and also learning some of the Combine players that they'd be watching and interviewing.  After that his OLine was going to get an overhaul in FA.  And while all of that's going on he's got to get a playbook put together and into the hands of the players.  The draft then hits followed by a few little off season workouts and stuff with the players.

And so now, he'll be asked QB questions from here on out.

Bookmarking this for when Monken names Watson the opening game starter.

  • FYI, Demetric Felton jr. was hired by the Browns as a Player Skills Development Analyst.  -  Welcome back Demetric.  You weren't used properly here...and your title seems to indicate that you would be aware of that.  See if you can get them to utilize Dylan Sampson better than Stef did.

I expect DW to look great in Tee shirts and shorts then crap the bed when it counts... There is no long term future with him at the helm.. I would rather they see if Shadeur can be the guy than waste time on this asshole.. I find Taylen Green intriguing also.. Just my .02 cents worth...

Long term I don’t see the point in starting Watson, but I’m not Monken. He wants to win now, and if he feels Watson gives him the better shot at winning this season he’ll be the starter. I’d rather see Sanders, but it’s what it is.

I don’t see any real future in the NFL as a QB for Green.
