  • If I ran college football conferences would be topped out at 10-12 teams max, and Texas A&M would be out of the SEC and in a new Southwest Conference with Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor, etc... Nebraska and Oklahoma would be in the Big 12, USC, Oregon, etc would be in the Pac 12... oh well.

With all that first round talent it makes you wonder why the SEC can’t make it to the championship game. ?

Nice deflection try from your original statement. You get an A for Attempt. LOL!?

    @canton-dawg said:

They’ve been saying that for three years now.

No deflection, I stated there were 4 Buckeyes taken in the first 11 picks in the draft (quality reference).

Somehow you’re propping up the SEC with the amount of picks (quantity reference).

That’s what the SEC homers do.

I like Zac too. He writes for The Athletic, and their draft coverage was second to none the last couple years. I know it’s a paid subscription deal, but it’s probably worth burning a free week trial on draft week just to check out their coverage. It’s impressive.

Towards the end of that clip one of the guys really tried to bust Zac’s chops over scapegoating  DePodesta, and he wasn’t having it. There was a pretty interesting article in The Athletic a few weeks ago about DePodesta now that he’s back to being the “baseball guy” with the Rockies. It shed some light on the mystique surrounding him with his role in the Browns organization.

Oh, I've hyped up my guys quite well thank you. Glad we got Concepcion, but sorry somebody got Bisontis earlier than I thought he would go. He'd have been good for our IOL. And of course it goes without saying I brought Garrett to the attention of this board when he was an underclassman at A&M. The greatness was there from day one with that guy. Next year let's see what Isaiah Horton has to offer at WR. He's another I can already see should be more than decent based on some of the catches he was making in the spring game. There was one where he reached back under the armpit of the defender with one hand and somehow made the completion. I don't even know how he even saw the ball let alone caught it.

  • Relevant for all my Browns fans.  I'd encourage all of you to join.   We'll be diving deeper into Taylen Greens game next Wednesday.

  • Friendly reminder for all my Browns fans - Taylen Green study, tonight at 8Pm on discord. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

  • Watching ESPN's 'The Pick Is In' from last night...

After Berry made the trade down with Kansas City, he told the Browns war room that his thinking was that the Browns would take someone from Fano, Jordyn Tyson or Francis Maiigoa.

One way or another it was always going to be a WR or a OT....

When the Browns were on the clock the Cowboys wanted to trade their  #12 and #20 and a 5th rounder for the Browns #9 and #24 picks. Glad the Browns declined that.

I know they showed us taking Boston at 39, but I don’t think they showed us getting McNeill-Warren.

  • OK Boys just remember the name for the 2030 draft. Under Armour AA OT Mark Matthews Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. 6'6" 300 lb #1 OT in the country and #3 overall player any position now committed to Texas A&M. Almost no baby fat and also a basketball player with the agility to play either R or L OT. A&M's plan is L OT from day one.

  • Now that everyone can pay players legally, it's not shocking the SEC lays eggs in the playoffs.  The lack of coaching that has always been the SEC is shown again and again.. and the SEC will continue to whine until they find another way to cheat.  In addition, not only can't the SEC win without cheating -- they want everyone else to tell them they aren't cheating while they continue to cheat.  This is also why at least once a year the SEC threatens to leave the NCAA -- because they don't want to exist in a system that doesn't allow them [and them alone] a way to cheat.

    (1) The entire dog vomit about "the middle of the SEC is tough" -- is always and will always be trash. The middle of the big10 is tougher - and the top, middle, and bottom of the big10 repeatedly beat the top, middle, and bottom of the SEC.  In 2026, Iowa waxxed Vanderbilt -- with theoretically the SEC's best player, who didn't get drafted.  Illinois beat Tennessee.  In fact the only SEC win in a bowl game was in the bowl that had 2 SEC teams.  The team that won the SEC got monkeystomped in the first round of the playoffs -- like they didn't belong.

Does the entire SEC's WR coaching staffs need to go to a gay bar and have someone show them a triple release?  Ryan Williams has nightmares about getting hit while Jeremiah has dreams about running through tackles.  Alabama couldn't run the ball the length of your dick because their WR's whiff block like the OSU room the year before Chip Kelly.

The Middle Of The SEC teams seem difficult simply because all the coaches aren't good.  All those posts about drafted players support this.  If the players are so good, why are the teams dogwater?

    (2) Both Ed Orgeron and Kirby Smart have within the last 2 months been on podcasts admitting with wild details that they paid all their players long before NIL was a thing. They gave so many details there would be show-causes if eSECpn didn't pay the NCAA to sit on their hands.

Fun fact: If you've ever had cheap calamari, it's probably a boiled pig anus.  You know, like the SEC!

  • Iowa "waxxed" Vandy? I guess the Big 10 doesn't produce math majors since a 7 point win is not waxing anybody. Better stick to pubic waxing Unsympathetic.?

A near TD favorite being down 21-3 middle of the 3rd quarter while mustering 1 FG and 4 punts on their 1st 5 possessions.

Yeah, Iowa physically handled Vandy. Even if the final didn't reflect that.

He was cherry picking. Michigan lost to SEC 6th overall Texas by 14 and to 7th overall Oklahoma by 11. Wisconsin lost to 4th in the SEC Texas by 24. And anyone who believes that no major team in the Big 10 was ever "cheating" in recruiting is either lying or very naive. The $100 handshake goes way back in history, but the amount changed over time. Now it's all legal. And Hayden Fry took his cheating ways (Eric Dickerson and others) from SMU to Iowa decades ago.

Look, I'm not one to speak for others or defend other grown men - but no, he didn't cherry pick anything.  Bowl games are the specific reference here.   This is before your SEC Stockholm Syndrome, but the narrative started with high profile bowl games. In this case the 2007 & 2008 BCS title game losses by tOSU.     Those were all it took for ESPN, whom Unsymp correctly took a shot at, to let their money machine begin the SEC superiority chants at every and any possible media opportunity.

Now we see the coaching, talent & money has leveled out and that leveling has provided a clarity;  We see which conference benefitted disproportionately from their behaviors in comparison to others.

And we shall see if that holds up over about a 10 year period. Then and only then can conclusions be made. Correlation does not equal cause and effect. I'll do my best to stick around long enough.?

And the references he was making were from games this past season. That was cherry picking. I just clarified it a little.
