Imagine wasting time hyping up a conference instead of your own team

That’s what the SEC homers do.

Because I don’t think there has been a team more hyped up that never delivers shit like his favorite team. Guess he feels the need to pimp the conference to do the work his team never can do.

Texas A&M doesn't think they can spell SECCESS without the SEC; and we wonder why they need a 12th man?

That said Texas Tech and their killer good defense didn't need the SEC...  A&M, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Mizzou, Colorado and others should have gone back to the way it was now that the NIL for all could restore some of those old rivalries & traditions.

    - Reform the old conferences.

    - Bring back the traditional rivalries.

    - Bring back the BCS formula to help with pre-season rankings and minimize human bias.

    - Cut out conference title games

    - Round Robin, 9 conference games

    - 2 OOC

    - Automatic playoff bid to conference champion. Top 4 seeds host.

    - 1 at large.

Gives us the best of the BCS without watering down the product with an expanded playoffs;  further invalidating, what used to be, the best regular season in sports.

Yes. Conferences need to be capped at 12 max.

Get USC, Oregon, etc back into the PAC. Get Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, etc into a new Southwest Conference.

If Notre Dame would ever join the Big Ten, I'd hope for Penn State to leave and form a new Eastern conference with teams like West Virginia, Pitt, Syracuse, Boston College, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Virginia, etc.

    Get the geographical rivalries back.

These institutions also makes sense in terms of their endowment & academic prestige.    Notre Dame should be Big 10.  Penn State I'm on the fence about.  But it would make for a strong conference if the old Big East had Penn State & Miami in it.

    Yes INDEED!

I just watched a little of the Lacrosse Semi-Finals game between Syracuse & Notre Dame.  Even though SU got rathoused - they pulled the score within 9-7 until SU surrendered about 4 or 5 goals against ND's awesome power play.  SU has won some Nattys in Lax; but I can't help but wondering what it would have been like to watch Jim Brown playing Lax at Syracuse.  He never lost 1 face-off.  Here's a little info on how he did.

Can you imagine getting an SEC team out of their own backyard for the playoffs?

Especially like Columbus or Ann Arbor in December or January?

Already saw that with the Vols coming to Columbus.

Even though Missed Again fans were re-watching Legally Blonde & Ken and Barbie movies with @mld-woody during the last 2 rounds of CFP - the higher ups in Ann Arbor greased the right fannies & paid the right dirt-bags 3 years ago for me to say the Big 10 Won the last 3 National Championships.

All that said, understanding how easily SEC schools like Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, etc seemed to have the highest volume of top recruits every year - did Nick Saban just decide he was going to be unbeatable as soon as he left Michigan State or did he have a little access to double-secret player salaries going on when he arrived at LSU and later on again at Alabama? When we think about it, the end of Clemson's ability to compete with the elite began when Kirby Smart landed at GA. Impact? All of the top high school players in GA stopped leaving their home state to go play at competitive places like Clemson. Consequently, Swinney's team/program took it on the chin. It sure looked like Smart brought what he learned about taking a program to a higher level from Saban to GA. Reality is as soon as other conferences were allowed to pay players the chants of "S-E-C, S-E-C, S-E-C" aren't heard nearly as frequently after someone from the midwest intercepted that southern little "I've got a secret."

Let's slap a positive spin on this stuff; because @mld-woody and his classmates/buddies up in Ann Arbor are looking to provide emotional support and constructive alternatives to disappointed college football fans in lieu of watching the College Football Playoffs. I bet they make adorable little angels in the snow that time of year so stay tuned...

FWIW, Mason Graham is a GREAT kid now that he lives in Ohio during football seasons. I appreciate the movie tip though Woody. Check out the movie "Overcomer" - you can stream it on Tubi and it's available on other streaming providers. Once it gets going, it never stops getting better and going places you didn't see coming.

I'm a huge SK fan and the 90s version of The Stand is pretty good for being a 2 night TV movie. I recently re-read the book and the graphic novels and I was about to watch the 90s version again, when I saw they did a new mini-series in 2020. I made it 30 minutes into the first episode and shut it off lol. I do not recommend it.

I watched that one too. It is remarkably meh. I think the most notable thing is the second to last episode ends in the same spot as the 90s version, but then it goes an episode longer. I’m not sure that was a good thing.
