Who do you think our starting QB will be?

  • All I've seen are the highlights (lowlights). Sanders & Gabriel seemed to throw identical, horrid INT's.

  • Losing with Sanders will be more entertaining than losing with watson.

Especially the after game press conference. It like a clown show when Shedufus start to ramble. Watch his PC after this past game. It pretty funny to look at the guy and when he talks.

So, here's the thing about that guy with a cell phone and a facebook account. He's not coaching and working with the team.

Todd Monken is coaching the team. And Todd's been saying that Watson has been better than Sanders. He's been making better and quicker decisions with the ball. When and if the two players show Monken that the roles should be reversed, then I'm sure that he'll reverse them.

Monken seems to be a straight shooter. He didn't draft / trade for either of them. He's got no skin in the game of who starts at QB, except for who he thinks is better. And that's who I want to start at QB this season - whomever Monken thinks is better. I want the best player(s) at each position to be the starters.

AGREED! Although it really feels like it'll be a lesser of 2 evils albeit (& like you mentioned) Monken had nothing to do with either QB he inherited here.

And starting next season I believe the Browns will have moved on from both, possibly all three of the QBs currently on the roster as the #1-3 guys.

My dream scenario is the guy they really like in next year's draft falls into their lap, which means they do not have to trade up, and they acquire a veteran QB who can start next season while the rookie gets acclimated.

While I'm wishing, I'd like Jennifer Lawrence to come over with a big seafood dinner, feed it to me, then ask me to wrestle naked with her.

Good luck to the alarm clock that wakes you up before Jennifer gets to your door. Having said that, a before and after picture of that alarm clock might deserve a cold 6 pack of your favorite beer. My favorite Ohio beer I tried when I went to Canton in 2016 was Leg Humpers. Ever try it? It's a lot better than it sounds.

The year Gipper & Hoorta came to Nashville for a game - a sales rep for that beer came for the big Browns Tail Gate Party with kegs of it handing out free beer. Couldn't beat it!

I should've caveated that by saying that Monken said to Shedeur when Shedeur walked into Monken's brand new office, on one of Monken's first days on the job, "We were trying to draft your ass!". So, I guess, there is that...

About that... seeing how the Browns didn't land Shedeur until a trade in round 5 - Monken's poker face told me his Baltimore team didn't feel nearly the same urgency for Shedeur that they once felt to trade up for Philly's 32nd overall pick (to select Lamar Jackson). IMO that was Baltimore wanting to draft a QB's ass in 2018.

Here's a cut and paste of that whole thing:

At this point in my long life I'd settle for any Jennifer. Or even my wife. LOL!

  • Its gotta be Watson. Sanders just ain't it.

That was a big help - thanks Dutch! Here's a cut and paste. Look at that Old Dawg below all ready for action...

  • I truly believe after yesterday's horrible press conference, the Browns will cut Watson.

    What a tone-deaf jackass.

"God put me in these positions to make me stronger?"

    "It's personal," regarding the boos.

Move on Browns. He's not welcome here.....probably not anywhere.

I just came over here to basically post what you wrote.

After yesterday, the Browns would be absolutely insane to start him.

Cleveland is done with him. He's done with Cleveland.

Not only is it personal for him, it is obviously in his head how much he's hated here.

When Jimmy described the trade as a "swing and a miss" Watson should have officially never been an option to see the field again, but the Browns gotta Browns and they talked themselves into the idea of once again trying to force feed Watson being the Browns starting QB. And as fragile physically Watson is, he's even worse mentally IMO at this point.

Take your lumps with Sanders - the other QB who is not going to be in the Browns future - in 2026. Draft a QB with your first pick next draft, for the love of everything holy obtain a veteran QB who is a professional to pair with him, and move on towards Brookpark.

This season is going to be rough.

IMHO Sanders is easy to root for.

My optimism isn't ultra high either,it's not a playoff team, but I'm certain the team will improve as the season goes on. Youngest team in the NFL.

There's some talent on this team, and there's some more potential talent on this team. I can't say the rookies are "talent" yet before they play one down of NFL regular season ball, but...

The Browns are going to draft a QB in the next draft. I think they won't even have to trade up for one, I think someone or multiple someones if the QB class is as good as some think it will be will fall right into their laps.

And that someone is going to come to a team with Spencer Fano somewhere on the OLine, receiver targets like Fannin, Concepcion and Boston to throw to, Judkins and Sampson behind him to hand off to. Whoever the young QB is, he will be surrounded by young talent. I believe the Browns need to keep investing via the draft for the OLine, but the cupboards in the offensive pantry will not be bare.

But the current QB room is among the worst - if not the worst - in the NFL. I can't see how this team even scores 20 points a game. I'm not asking for middle-of-the-road, I'm just asking for 20 points a game. I can't see that happening.

And I think the defense will probably slide towards the middle-of-the-pack. I see them struggling to get consistent pressure, putting extra pressure on a very thin cornerback room. Dog help us if one of our starters goes down for any kind of extended time.

  • should we trade for a vet qb now to back up our rookie qb we get from next years draft. and more than likely need one to start this year,#4 can be cut at any time the money will be the same, the only difference is if we wait untill after next june 1st the money will be spread out longer. I say fuck it. cut his ass tomorrow
