  • I was probably in favor of Watson starting after last week. I think I am firmly with Sanders, for two reasons. First, I think he played better overall, Watson looks horrid, I get you are working with 3rd teamers etc so you should be balling out against 3rd teamers as well. It was terrible. I thought Sanders was better with the same cast last week then Watson was this week. Second, his answer to the question about the boos. First, I don't think we should be booing any players, and certainly not cheering when they get injured. That said, Watson's answer should have something like....Look I understand the situation, I can only control how I play and the only way I am going to fix that issue is to win ball games and I am doing everything I can do, to do that. Thats all he had to say. The way he handled the whole thing has been piss poor. Just ride Sanders and see if can be the guy so going into next season you know for sure one way or the other. I would just cut Watson at this point.

  • I don't know why the Browns play calling was trying to just run out the clock the last Sanders possession before the half. Totally backfired. Just f'n let him go for it, not just run the damn ball allowing them to preserve enough time to score on the Browns. Very disappointed in that series before half. Took the wind totally out of the team's sails. Let the kid try to do the 2 minute drill, not the two minute milktoast.

If we're paying attention to the sequel since 99 - quality tanking takes practice before it becomes a well perfected art. There's a lot of newbies this year that gotta learn this.

As we speak, the current home stadium for the Browns hasn't hosted 1 playoff win by the Browns. It's getting too conceivable for comfort that it could go all 30 years without a Cleveland Browns' post season win there before they move to the new stadium being built mostly under-ground. I'm sure a lot of smart ass fans of division rivals can't wait to bust our chops with "Get this, the Browns are building a new stadium that will be easier than ever to bury when they perfect their "Sophisticated Tanking" again.."

The current stadium not only hasn't seen a Browns playoff victory, it hasn't seen a Browns playoff game.

2002 the Browns went to Pittsburgh and lost.

2020 the Browns went to Pittsburgh and won, then went to Kansas City and lost.

2023 the Browns went to Houston and lost.

    That's it.

  • If I hadn't watched the game, I would have known how bad Watson was going to be just based off of his 2nd throw. My god... this is awful.

The idea that Watson is going to start tells me three things:

    1. Sanders is either a few seasons from being a legit starting QB, or...

    2. Sanders will never be a legit starting QB

    3. Todd Monken has zero chance of succeeding if he thinks Watson should start

I'm not in the building, so I don't call the shots. That said, between...

    • Watson's commentary

    • His completely inability to elevate the 2nd & 3rd team

I don't believe you can start him week 1. I feel Shedeur will get the 1st reps with the 1's on Saturday. Then Watson might get SOME reps. This is all provided Shedeur doesn't fall apart during this full week of practice. But from this perch, Sanders is your QB1 right now (barring a minor miracle)

    I sincerely hope so.

I have zero interest in watching Watson play for this team ever again.

Now THAT is adding salt to a wound - why you gotta get hurtful man? ? The Browns are projecting a 0 for 30 seasons at hosting a playoff game in the current stadium unless something miraculous happens before they start playing in the new stadium...

  • Todd Monken needs to step up and "be the adult in the room" and save the Browns from themselves regarding Watson. He needs to officially end this debacle for once and all. You would think when the owner called the trade for Watson this offseason "a swing and miss" would have done it, but alas, not so much.

If he doesn't, I'm already writing Monken off. On to the next head coach that virtually no other NFL team has any interest in hiring in said position, like every fucking head coach Jimmy Haslam has hired since he bought the team. Because no head coach candidate with options would ever consider this shit show.

Monken has a press conference today at 3.

  • it isnt too early to see they will be Clowns once again and Monken already shows that he will be the head clown.

    losers again

CD, I was volleying between LMAO & feeling REALLY bummed out remembering the Cleveland Browns had a 10-6 record in Joe Thomas' rookie season that wasn't good enough to make the playoffs. That was a very good OL especially when the old feller playing Center Hank Fraley was still able to pull around end vey easily. Today, Fraley is the Run Game Coodinator & O-Line Coach for the Detroit Lions. Moving Kevin Shaffer from LT to RT made him far more efficient in 2007. In ATL he was a LT but his QB Michael Vick was Left handed passer meaning he wasn't functioning as the blind side pass protector there - so when Cleveland 1st used him as a blind side pass protector before the 2007 season Shaffer struggled.

    Here's some cut and pastes

    image.png

    image.png

Not to forget the big sure-handed 6'5" WR Joe Jurevicious contributing the following (mostly on 3rd downs): 50 receptions, 614 receiving yards @12.3 yards per catch and 3 TDs.

  • Just stopping by to say hello. ?Thanks to our local Channel 7 blocking the NFLN live feed of the game- so that they could show the replay at midnight I only was able to watch the first half. OK, Sanders looked good, and the INT really wasn'this fault. Did have pretty good O-line protection.

The reports I've seen said that Watson looked horrid- and got booed pretty badly. From that, and how crappy he played against the Bears- the QB decision is pretty obvious. Start Sanders. Watson is washed up, great- a $230 million dollar mistake. May as well cut him and be done with it. Browns can probably pick up a scrap heap backup QB when other teams start doing their cuts- they couldn't do any worse. Or work a trade with another team for a backup that would only involve a low draft pick.

  • When a franchise makes one of the worst deals in professional SPORTS HISTORY and you are the object of that"deal" and you are the very image of that disaster, you should not be surprised at being booed and it IS personal and You personally STINK ! Cleveland fans have every right and every justification to boo You and to top it all off, you exacerbate it by whining about it....go get a massage, twit.
