It woulda been cooler if he broke the record for freestyle rapping at age 70-74. I would totally watch that.

It's one of these Craftsman/Husqvarna models with a common failure on the front transmission mount where the bolts strip out because the case is aluminum. So the transmission basically rotated and the belt got destroyed.

I did the redneck fix of tapping bigger holes and using bigger bolts with a boat load of loctite, seems solid :hng: But I am waiting on more parts to put the rest of it together, it needs a new transmission cooling fan too since that broke apart.

I bought this thing for like $80 5 years ago and all it needed then was a valve adjustment, ran it since then without any problems until this year... I replaced the head gasket, carbeurator, starter. Now fixing the transmission mount, new fan, new drive belt.

Hopefully it keeps going strong, I dont wanna shell out the crazy prices mowers are these days.

Damn, you know your stuff. Density is a thing when it comes to affixing things to other things. Aluminum is less dense than most other metals. I get it. Every deck will eventually fail because deck screws are more dense than wood.

Oddly enough painting and mowing lawns are among my least favorite activities. Seriously. I would gladly clean the shittiest of toilets and dig the deepest of ditches before l would want to paint walls or cut grass.

Sat outside under the gazebo watching football on multi view sipping bourbon and smoking cigars.

Pictures probably not clear enough but it shows the failure, before, during, after fix.

After I did the tap to bigger bolt things I saw a YT video of someone who just removed the bottom bolts on the transmission case, drilled through, and added long through bolts that go all the way through the mount.

Woulda been better but ah well, this should last the life of the mower with how old it is

Long time coming - ordered a new desk for the office, along with an Ipad pro, 4k camera & mic. Also a new dresser/light setup to have a more uniform look to the room. Finished all my play charting on Watson, haven't finished editing the video clips though. Picked up an ecovacs, robot mower, then began working on setting it up.

  • Came back from Erie, PA after attending a 50th bday party for a good friend of mine Saturday night.

Me and three other friends went in together and got him a Walter Payton jersey for his bday. Thank dog he's not a Steelers fan.

Post script: There was a mass shooting in Erie, PA Friday afternoon, 8 people were murdered, plus the shooter took his own life.

My friend, who the party was thrown for his 5oth birthday, is a counselor and I think will be talking with the first responders today who were there.

Sadly two of the victims were kids.
