  • I love this shit ... Lebron and Braylon in the beat-down ring ... Shaq can promote this baby, Delonte West can provide security, Abram Elam can provide beverages ... let's roll.

You left out Donte providing rides home.

  • I know everyone here is going to crucify Edwards but the way i see it - If i was 130 pounds lighter than any guy, I would trash talk to him esp @ 2:00in the morning when drunk at a bar. i would say the guy got what he deserved.

Yeah, forget that you are a high profile athlete facing a big pay day in free agency, and he is a skinny little 130lb bean counter ... pop him man, and have your homies drag you away.

    That's cool.

Sorry, but that's not me. I do his wife.

As the story goes, Edwards started the trash talking to begin with, not the other way around.

By your logic, if someone starts talking crap to you, and you decide to defend yourself, you should get punched πŸ™„

Yea but the question is don't superstars get to make live by different rules?

Maybe he was parking in the guys handicap spot? ooooopps, my bad, he only does that to the secretaries in Berea.

Just some more evolved than others (in this case, looking like BE is the less evolved one)

According to Mr Givens quotes he coms and starts trash talking which i find strange .. why would someone all of a sudden come and start talking trash to a mr givens whom nobody has ever heard of ? There is more to this story than what is being reported for sure. I woul d rather wait for the police report to come out.

So if 2 donkeys are fighting why care about the light weight one that got itself kicked ?

I don't find it strange, especially if BE has some issue w/ Lebron.

We are talking about BE who parked in a handicap spot and was classy enough to swat a basketball hard into Dana Jacobs face in a game for charity.

  • Braylon "Brick hands" Edwards could learn a thing or two about professionalism from Mr. James.

Dude these are minor misdemeanors. I dont think that is good enough for me to call it quits with BE. If he is going to be traded let it be for his lack of production or TO like team destruction , not cos he punched LeBron's friend in his face or something.

  • Edwards is as good as gone at the end of this year anyway.

Don't trade him, don't waive him. Play him.

That's right. Play him. He's in a contract year and he's killing himself right now with his performances. Hopefully, he'll come to that realization and give this franchise a few more good games before he skips town.

And as far as LeBron goes, his comments on the story are another gallon of gas in Braylon's car ride out of town. Edwards' departure at the end of this season will be another addition by subtraction situation.

  • Why doesn't BE just shoot himself in the leg at clubs like normal WRs???

  • I'm not buying this yet.

You telling me the only think BE didn't drop Sunday was a 130lb guy?

  • Why can't Braylon be like Gerard Warren and just smoke some weed and have

guns around him? Then he could have been arrested in Cleveland. Kokinis like

Policy could have said that the arresting officer called him "the nicest person I have

    ever arrested."

I was with you earlier, but after hearing WKNRs reporter talk about it, and him talking about people he knows who were there that are telling him the same story, I think there is far more truth than rumor to this one.

Alcohol can make some people do some dumb things. Especially someone who might be upset about something else that occured earlier in their day.

I have to back masters here. I drink a ridiculous amount and I do a ton of dumb things on a fairly regular basis.

  • This incident is another example of why it's time to cut ties with Edwards after this year (or before). If you're one of the highest paid players on the team and you're going to do stupid stuff like this and be immature, then you'd BETTER be a star player. Edwards isn't. He is incredibly athletic, but he's proven time and again that he takes almost as much as he gives, and his lack of maturity is flashing in neon.

I think, given the right system and a strong, quality core around him to keep him in line, BE could be very productive. That kind of situation won't be in Cleveland at least for the next two years.

    LeBron calls out Braylon

Posted by Mike Florio on October 5, 2009 5:32 PM ET

Earlier today, a man who claims that Browns receiver Braylon Edwards beat him up attributed the trouble to jealously that Edwards has for Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James.

And now James is wading into the dispute.

And, in other words, it's getting goooooood.

"I've never crossed paths with Braylon before, but it seems like there's a little jealousy going on with Braylon and me and my friends," James said Monday, per the Associated Press. "I have no idea why. I've never said anything to Braylon at all. But for him to do that is very childish. My friend is 130 pounds. Seriously. It's like hitting one of my kids. It doesn't make sense."

More importantly for Edwards, his boss responded to the situation on Monday. And coach Eric Mangini, who has been fining guys for parking-space infractions and water-bottle violations, doesn't sound happy.

"I know there is an incident that has been reported with Braylon Edwards, it's something that I am aware of," Mangini said Monday. "It is something that I spoke with Braylon about and personal conduct is very important to me. I always want our players to put themselves in the most positive positions. This is something I will continue to gather information on."

Edwards had zero catches in Sunday's overtime loss to the Browns. Per the AP, it's the first time that Edwards failed to make a reception in his entire career.

UPDATE: The Cleveland Plain Dealer has more from LeBron, who attempts to educate LeBrown on one what it means to be a pro athlete. "I know how to handle myself as a professional athlete and I take care of my friends and my family. It is unfortunate that some guys don't understand that. You are a role model to kids and you should carry yourself that way on and off the field. And I carry that. I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize myself or my family. I'm one of the guys that look at being a professional athlete at more than just being out on the court."
