It is hard to compare all the divisions. Any given day you will win or lose in any of them. I will admit that lately the SEC has had some great teams. But the big ten is not the MAC remember that. The Big Ten has some stiff competion and just like every Bowl Division they have their up years and down years.

As I have said many times...it isn't the top of the Big Ten that lacks....it is the bottom. You judge a league by how weak they are at the bottom v how strong they are at the top.

The whole BCS system is flawed. But even if you get passed that and look at each BCS bowl games, you see that the Big Ten almost always has to play an away game, while their opponent has a home game. USC in the rose bowl is a home game for them. No wonder they win it virtually every year(Note: ohio state wins it this year over oregon as both teams play at a neutral location). How about we move that game to Ohio or Illinois and see how that turns out? Another example was a couple years back when Ohio state went to Louisiana to play for a championship against who? LSU... go figure.. Until the BCS games are played on a NEUTRAL field, the big ten will always be at a disadvantage..

You can convince me that the Big ten is on the same level as the SEC...but you will NEVER convince me that they are better at least this year.

Does Kentucky even have a football program anymore?

Yes, and I know that was sarcastic and a rhetorical question.

But we are talking about the SEC and Big 10 in whole.

That Penn State game was a joke

the big ten has improved somewhat. But who in the big ten could beat Alabama or Florida?

Penn State didn't beat a ranked team all year until today. Ohio State played well but they are lucky it wasn't USC.

They're lucky it wasn't USC? You mean the same USC team that Oregon scored 50+ points on. The same Oregon team that Ohio State held to 17 points tonight?

Ohio State just beat up on the best team in the pac ten..holding them to half their normal scoring average. Tremdous game by the OSU defense and a great game by Pryor leading the offense.

the same USC team that beat OSU this year..

So what...that was a long time ago. USC lost 3 times in conference and lost their chance for the rose bowl when they gave up like 500 points to Stanford and Oregon. So I guess in your pea brain...USC is the rose bowl champ because they beat OSU early in the season?

I am saying the big ten is not that good. USC, Stanford would have hammered them..

Penn State is not that good either. It is a marginal weak conference. Boise or TCU would hammer either of them

you seriously have no life but to troll, I wasn't home yesterday because I was at a new years party, but then today I woke up, and I check the board, and I see that you post a thread saying "it's 2010 and browns still have no championships", good to know that you have nothing to do in your life but to to troll a Cleveland Browns board on new years, moron.

USC had the chance to "hammer them" as you put it...and scored a last minute TD to win the game. The difference between the two teams is that OSU got better as the season went on and USC got worse.

Ohio State squeezed past Navy, lost to USC, lost to Purdue, took ovetime to beat Iowa.

not that good but hey the Bucks won and I will give them credit. I rooted for them today!

wins are wins chachi....who cares if they "squeezed past" anyone.

You said USC would "hammer" OSU...but when they had the chance to do that, they barely won the game. OSU got better from that point on in the season and USC got worse, losing 4 games in conference play, several times getting the crap beat out of them in embarrassing fashion.

Ohio State just beat the best team in the pac 10....deal with it.

It's like she's 11 years old. The reasoning is mind boggling.

I think it's the same reasoning that had Montana or Idaho as the national champs a few years back because it could be figured out that someone beat someone and they beat someone else who beat someone else and on and on until the only team who hadn't lost to someone was Idaho or Montana or some other such nonsense school.

I understand that OSU lost to USC early..but Ohio State went on to have a very good season after that. USC lost FOUR times after that game and only Oregon is playing in a BCS game. Ohio State played a shitty game and lost to Purdue but went on to beat Iowa (who is playing in a BCS game). How many pac 10 teams are playing BCS games this year?? And USC lost how many conference games?

I, for one, feel good for the Big Ten fans. Usually they have to rush to get these posts out before bowl season starts; this year it actually holds true after the first Saturday of the bowl season.

What is Mark May going to say now? He's still bitter about Ohio State, Michigan, & Notre Dame not recruiting him.

Great day for the Big 10, but it's going to take a few more season's like this for the idiots at ESPN to acknowledge us as a great conference again.

to go along with commentators, did anyone else but me hear much brett mussberger or however you spell his last name was on Oregon's knob all night? Literally they'd tackle Terrelle Pryor and he'd act like they just won the game. On the flip side, when TP would make a good play he'd find a way to belittle it.

Mark May has to be the worst, followed by Lee Corso and Mussbereger

ANYWAY, it is refreshing to see the big ten turn it around. I hope Iowa can pull through and show the strength we have. As much as I hate to say it though, we still aren't above the SEC. Next year will be a good measuring stick however. I said it earlier on here, it only takes a couple years for a conference to go from all powerful to mediocre. Remember the ACC in the early 2000's? Now it's a complete joke, for the most part.

As my random side note, the biggest news of college football this year is going to be the mass introduction of the triple option to most people's offensive gameplans. Mark my words.
