Official Rock Band of NFL teams

The Browns Board
68 24 5.8k
  • OK, the following may be a lame attempt by me to create conversation and to mix passion for football with passion for music and to get you all to play along. What I want you to do is to name who you think should be the "Official Band of a particular NFL team.

An obvious easy example would be say: Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles (or as The Dude calls them: the F***ing Eagles)

You can use any criteria you want for your choice. It doesn't have to be a Rock n' Roll band. I suspect The Saints could be the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Whatever you want. I gave a couple of NFC examples, but lets start with the AFC:

    Cleveland Browns:

    Cincinnatti Bengals:

    Pittsburgh Steelers:

    Baltimore Ravens:

    New England Patriots:

    New York Jets:

    Miami Dolphins:

    Buffalo Bills:

    Indianapolis Colts:

    Jacksonville Jaguars:

    Tennessee Titans

    Houston Texans

    Kansas City Chiefs

    Denver Broncos

    Oakland Raiders

    San Diego Chargers

I will put in just a few of my own to start with off the top of my head:

Cleveland Browns: The Pretenders. In RRHOF. Led by an Akron girl. (plus, the Browns sometimes play like they are pretending to be an NFL franchise)

    Cincinnatti Bengals:

    Pittsburgh Steelers:

    Baltimore Ravens:

    New England Patriots:

New York Jets: The Ramones? They're from NY, aren't they?

    Miami Dolphins:

    Buffalo Bills:

    Indianapolis Colts:

    Jacksonville Jaguars:

    Tennessee Titans

Houston Texans Archie Bell and the Drells?

Kansas City Chiefs Wilbert Harrison (guy who sang Kansas City)

    Denver Broncos

    Oakland Raiders...Paul Revere and....

    San Diego Chargers

  • Now go with NFC:

    New York Giants

    Philadelphia Eagles

    Washington Redskins

    Dallas Cowboys

    Detroit Lions

    Chicago Bears

    Green Bay Packers

    Minnesota Vikings

    Atlanta Falcons

    Carolina Panthers

    New Orleans Saints

    Tampa Bay Bucs

    Arizona Cardinals

    St. Louis Rams

    Seattle Seahawks

    San Francisco 49ers

More likely Utah, but I was just thinking of the fact that it refers to riding a horse. A Bronco is a horse, you know?

Cleveland Browns: Anvil - Keep plugging away, you'll get your payday

    Cincinnatti Bengals: Bad Company

    Pittsburgh Steelers: The Circle Jerks

Baltimore Ravens: Godsmack - because they stole Alice in Chains' music an had more success with it.

New England Patriots: David Hasselhoff - because they are loved in some parts of the world but by most, they are just terrible.

New York Jets: The Breakfast Club - Because they use other people's songs to build themselves a following and never thank the original artists.

Miami Dolphins: Gloria Estefan - People down there like them but the love ends at the border

Buffalo Bills: AC/DC - They never get the respect they deserve but every home in America has a place for them in there Ipod

Indianapolis Colts: Aerosmith - Safe, family friendly rock

Jacksonville Jaguars: Cristina Aguilara - Pretty, powerful, unassuming singer that people hardly remember

Tennessee Titans: Red Hot Chili Peppers - All the talent in the world but just keep coming out with a new version of the same song every year. And people still listen

Houston Texans - Poison - All the right influences for good results but you can't help but laugh a little when one of their songs come on.

Kansas City Chiefs: The Who - They can fill a stadium on a Tuesday at 9am but you leave feeling like you just got knocked out and robbed

Denver Broncos: Celine Dion When you hear her, you get a little emotional for a second before lifting your head and saying "get it together poosy"".

Oakland Raiders: LL Cool J. A pioneer who used to be at the top of the game but refused to evolve and now he just worries about what he looks like and pretends to be a rapper

San Diego Chargers: New Metallica - You want to like them but once you hear their new stuff and see how arrogant they are, you really just want to see them fail, hard.
