Wasn't this a Cleveland band? I remember this song from the mid '80's.

Yes, they were a Cleveland Band, if I can recall. More like the mid-70s. Ask Westside Steve, he could tell you for sure.

If I am not mistaken, Wild Horses may have rivalled his band for the "Best Band in Cleveland" title. Or maybe not.

He might tell you that there were no rivals to his band for that title.

Actually, you'll find more redneck, black-toothed, bourbon-swiggin' people in southern Ohio - you know, the one that can run, jump or swim across the Ohio River from West Virginia across the border. I hav some relatives on my Dad's side who I would never admit are relatives if you saw them in person and they live down there!

Most of the people I know in Jax are either transplanted northerners or second/third gen transplants, not very many rednecks at all.

Shinedown - from Jax and more modern than Synard or Molly Hatchet.

Time is no excuse for shit music. I still have my parents original pressing of Yellow Brick Road. Love Elton's old stuff. The Bruce wanna be, Micheal Stanley sucks.

You got to be from the back hills because your favorite Elton song is "Please let my cousin go down on me".

Not sure where you are coming from. I like both Elton John and Michael Stanley. I don't think Michael Stanley is a Bruce Springsteen wannabe any more than anyone else. That was just a style of music that was popular.

In that regard you could say that the Rolling Stones were a Beatles wannabe simply because they came from the same country and had similar stylings.

You have to disregard his image and lifestyle, but I liked his songs.

You know, that actually sounds like it would be a good name for a band, wouldn't it?

I always hated Metallicrap...the most overrated band with the most overrated guitar player who has the best equipment and still manages to have a shitty guitar sound,,,I hate them crybaby arrogant whiners!

  • OK, the following may be a lame attempt by me to create conversation and to mix passion for football with passion for music and to get you all to play along. What I want you to do is to name who you think should be the "Official Band of a particular NFL team.

An obvious easy example would be say: Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles (or as The Dude calls them: the F***ing Eagles)

You can use any criteria you want for your choice. It doesn't have to be a Rock n' Roll band. I suspect The Saints could be the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Whatever you want. I gave a couple of NFC examples, but lets start with the AFC:

    Cleveland Browns:

    Cincinnatti Bengals:

    Pittsburgh Steelers:

    Baltimore Ravens:

    New England Patriots:

    New York Jets:

    Miami Dolphins:

    Buffalo Bills:

    Indianapolis Colts:

    Jacksonville Jaguars:

    Tennessee Titans

    Houston Texans

    Kansas City Chiefs

    Denver Broncos

    Oakland Raiders

    San Diego Chargers

Bengals = The bangles....broke up faster than the bungals fanbase after the first loss of the season..

Stoolers = Pissed Jeans (very appropriate)

Ratbirds = Sheryl Crow "There Goes the Neighborhood"

Browns = Pretenders due to Chrissie Hynde being from akron but joan jetts "i hate myself for lovin you" is the song that resonates through my brain..

Seriously the pretenders are music i unfortunately associate to the browns..if the pretenders had a song called "barefoot at the beginning of the blistering hot road" or "Up the burning cuyahoga river without a paddle" it would be a smash with browns fans!

Ozzy osbourne 'crazy train" a song that could be talking about the effects of being a lifelong browns fan would be my favorite! hehehehe
