i agree with you. i'd love to pile on the bandwagon here but isn't this country based on "innocent until proven guilty"? like i said before with the lawyers and the media today what is a young, single multi-millionaire to do? he's out with friends (probably on purpose for just a situation like this) and at a club where people are either swarming him in admiration or you got the drunk hecklers screaming at you. imagine going out to have fun but you can't talk to a girl 'just because'. seems like a bad chris rock joke. put aside these accusations and think about it. at least he's not married and cheating ala tiger woods. he doesn't have 7 kids from 6 different women ala cromartie. he's actually a pretty smart dude considering coming from findlay (no offense there) and he has publically come out in front of everyone and stood up and shouted his innocence in regards to the first case.

If he's actually found guilty its all a different story, but he has never even been name a suspect in a sexual assult case in his life.
It's still early in this case and many things from intial rumors/reports will likely change. I agree with you, if any intial rumor will change it's likely the one about him only having one beer. Ben 6'5" and 240 pounds. He could probably chug a six pack and not feel buzzed. I don't see a problem with him drinking as long as he kept from getting drunk. That's when most of the trouble starts for celebrities.
On another note, police confirmed the accuser was 20 years old. From what I hear (and where you would expect millionaires to be) this was a club, not some local cheap bar/resturant. Since when are 20 years olds allowed in clubs that serve alcohal. Maybe the place is one of those family friendly, all ages type place, but that's not what you would expect from a "club". Police believe this girl was in the group traveling with Ben. Even if the assult charge falls through, I can see some issues with underage drinking arising against all parties.

Getting drunk in public in general often leads to bad things, but most people have done it and stayed away from trouble. When hookers, crackheads and lawyers see celebrities, they see a walking bank. People are just waiting for celebrities to do something stupid so they can cash in. If you were to name 15 celebrities off the top of your head that screwed up and got in trouble, alcohal will probably play a role in 14 of them. Celebrities should go out and have fun, but save getting drunk for private parties where a few sober people can keep an eye on you.
Of course, where would sports be without rivals and hating everything about them. When you spend everyday watching, reading about and discussing your team you love so much you usually inadvertently build your hatred toward your teams rival. You hate you rival, their fans, players, coaches, city and everything else about them as much as you like you own team. But don't lose sight of the bigger picture that its just a sport, and saying "well, they are my favorite teams rivial" isn't a defense in court.
STEEL: Not wearing a helmet was stupid, but I think public opinion will overlook it as a strike on his character becuase it only put himself in danger. The McCulty is all but over with. Their has been no criminal charges and everyhting to be known about is out in the open. It wasn't like he invited or forced her to his room. He called for someone to fix his TV and they sent physco-woman. Even if the assult chargers don't get Ben in trouble on this one, a police investigation might uncover some problems related to alcohal and under age drinkers. Police described this place as a "club". My definition of "club" is a place for people 21+ over. The bouncer may have *forgot* to card a few of Ben's group as Ben handed him an autoghraph.

Keep in mind the other qbs you named are married and have kids. Ben is single. I think Ben does what any single average man does, but it will always be different. Burress, Pacman and others go out basically looking for trouble, like the stereotype of a typical rich young man. I keep saying how details about this second incident have more than enough time to change, but Ben hasn't gone out of his way to drive drunk or walk around with an unregistered gun. You can't blame Ben for not sitting in the house all day.
