  • Thanks for looking this up. I don't have time to check all of these, but I'm looking at 899-901 and I think the wording of the source you got these from is misconstruing the information. This "conscription" appears to be completely voluntary. It looks like a program that is offering to foot the bill for med school in return for a year of service for each year paid for, much like ROTC. That doesn't force anyone to become a certain type of doctor for the rest of their lives, but it does fill the needs that I pointed out in my earlier posts. It's an incentive for filling the most unwanted medical jobs, and it'll get new meat every year, with a rotation rate that is imo, fair. Yes, they pick what type of doctor you are for a few years, but they paid for med school, and now you owe it to the government.

I had no idea this was included in the bill, but Cal, I kid you not, I am now really looking forward to this, as I don't have the cash for med school, and would prefer to not be in debt for all my life.

  • Well, I hope it helps you. There IS good in this bill.

    but there is also bad.

The "conscription" part comes in when the gov will decide

    ALL ? doctors' pay?

But, I hope you don't get gov control for $$$, like GM did. GGG

    The two parts I bolded,...

"PG 660-671 Doctors in Residency – Govt will tell U where ur residency will b, thus where u'll live.

Pg 676-686 Govt will regulate hospitals in EVERY aspect of residency programs, incl. teaching hospitals."

sounds like you'll be told where to do your residency, where you will be a doctor? and where you will live...

I don't know. The financial help would be great for you future docs, though.

It's just the rest of the things that don't sound right....

  • And as for the government setting wages, I'm going to need more clarification, I'm still pretty new to this whole realm of healthcare. Non-preferred physicians refers to people that aren't under a PPO, which offers services at a reduced price, does that refer to all private practice doctors, then?

But here's the part where you said it'd set all government wages.

    Page 127

    10 (😎 PARTICIPATING, NON-PREFERRED

11 PHYSICIANS.—Those physicians who agree not

12 to impose charges (in relation to the payment

13 rate described in section 223 for such physi14

cians) that exceed the ratio permitted under

15 section 1848(g)(2)© of the Social Security

    16 Act.

    It refers to this

    http://www.ssa.gov/OP_Home/ssact/title18/1848.htm

© After 1992.—For physicians' services furnished in a year after 1992, the “limiting charge” shall be 115 percent of the recognized payment amount under this part for nonparticipating physicians or for nonparticipating suppliers or other persons.

Does that mean this has been in place since 1992? Perhaps nothing has changed since then? I could be wrong, but due to the wording here, I'm going to assume this has been what it's like since 1992. If you can point out otherwise, let me know.

16 TO PRIMARY CARE.—The hospital as

17 signs all such additional resident posi

section iv and v on page 665-667 talks about an increase in the number of resident physicians, and it appears that each hospital has a set limit, for it to get these additional slots, they have to meet criteria listed in this section.

section vi on 668 discusses when these additional slots need to be added by "the secretary"

I don't know, I'm not seeing anything where it says that the government chooses where your residency is. Every hospital needs to have resident physicians, and there are only so many available slots. I don't see anything where Uncle Sam tells you where to apply for a residency, he only says where additional residency slots get added.

Maybe it's on the second section you brought up, but hell, I'm exhausted from trying to translate this shit. But I don't think this section says what your source claimed.

  • Hey VT, before you start freaking out over that, it should be noted that that entire post is a copy-paste from noted right-wing loony asylum www.freerepublic.com, and is full of patently untrue and conspiracy theory bullshit (as I see you're finding out as you read the actual bill and not some Retard's "translation" of it).

    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/ar...l-needs-check-/

Here's a starter. Plenty of other sites have already debunked most of these claims, you can literally google any of the lines in that email calfox posted and the first 50 results will be information to the contrary. Or you can just trust some crazy freeper.

I have no idea who mz the pussy is, nor do I have any idea what this has to do with anything. The information is either true or it isn't, your ad hominem arguments are dumb.

You aren't even similar in style to mz the pussy.

  • See, this is what scares me about people like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. You guys will come here, posting about the endtimes along with some link of some person with an agenda. You NEED to factcheck this shit! I don't care if it comes from Limbaugh, Beck, Maddow, or Obama himself. It's really scary to see that these people have the power to say something and people will blindly believe it. Hell, I about posted something from Rachel Maddow the other day without doing research on my own, but started looking around and her evidence wasn't as great as she made it out to be, so I didn't. You guys should not take anything, ANYTHING at face value, of course it's going to be twisted in some way. Do some actual research and educate yourself instead of blindly buying into what some pundit's statements.

    @shoot

I've actually read stuff from politifact, but that site is definitely slanted to the left, so no one here is even going to bother with it. There are hardly any objective sources of information on the internet if you're looking off of politically based websites. I've learned much more about the healthcare bill, reading through this topic, and reading through the bill than I ever would have listening to someone on Fox, MSNBC, or the blogosphere. I'd encourage everyone to do the same.

Haha, you say "slanted to the left," I say "in touch with reality" 😆

Either way, you're right about Fox/MSNBC etc. People need to stop watching cable news, it's poison.

  • Some of their truth-o-meter stuff about Obama's promises is bullcrap. He extended the patriot act, it's listed as stalled. We're still in Iraq, yet that's omitted from this website. There are quite a few more under the stalled or compromise section that should be under broken, imo. The site's just as biased as any cable news organization.

  • the stuff I posted is exhausting. I'm sorry I don't have a whole lot of time either...

123 trays planted. Still planting. Took break for dinner.

I think maybe Shoot is more like Shep. Who knows.

But, about your snide comment, She... i mean, Shoot:

    It was here:

    http://www.naturalnews.com/026733_health_h...healthcare.html

Not some weird right wing nutcase site.

I tried to just bring it up. Some of it has merit, I think, some I have no idea.

But to say something so ignorant as "NO AVOID ALL NEWS FROM FOX",

is really foolish. You are in a minority worshipping the extreme liberal slant of CNN.

BTW, Fox rules the ratings, because most Americans want to KNOW that the HELL is

    REALLY GOING ON.

Tell your professor to take a bath, ditch the stinkin pipe, wear some new clothes, and

to grow the freakin up, and start being an American.

It's too late for you, but maybe it would help other future students of his. 😠
