Let's talk about the NEW Cavs
-
Shaq and Z are unrestricted free-agents and Delonte is most likely soon to join them because we can cut him and add $4 mil to our cap space

OK, but Delonte West is really a pretty damn good player. Worth 4 million to keep him in this market.
The only catch would be his legal troubles...and his bi-polar disorder.
Why get rid of him when he is such a talent?

Here's my starting lineup
JJ Hickson F
Jamario Moon F
Anthony Parker G-F
Anderson Varajao F-C
Mo Williams G
Backups
Daniel Gibson G
Daniel Greene F-G
Antawn Jamison F
Leon Powe F
Jawad Williams F
Obviously we need to find atleast one true center

I say if Shaq and Z still want to play here, and for the right price, we keep them. All things considered, there is NO player in the league with the voice of authority that Shaquille O'Neal has, no matter how over the hill he may be. And Z is a loyal player to this team...and has married a local girl....and deserves consideration for that.
Besides, WHO out there at center would in reality be better than either of these two?
-
I would love to have Shaq or Z or both back I just dont see it happening, Shaq will probably go to Miami and play for minimum to get another ring I dont see Cleveland being appealing to him anymore and I have to believe Z's gonna retire
-
I think the Cavs will make some moves with expiring contracts and 13 mill to spend. They'll look for someone who can score off the dribble (ironically, Delonte can).
I'd assume Jamison, Hickson, and Williams are keepers and starters. That leave the 2 and 5 open.

I'm with you.
I always thought that if West was more of a featured scorer in an offense without LeBron that he could be very effective. Two years ago before his problems flared he was our second most effective scorer and playmaker. He's a very gritty defender too and plays longer than his height.
At the press conference today though Grant made it sound like West was going to be cut. He actually stated that we had $13 million in cap space and someone caught him and he said they hadn't made a decision on Delonte.
-
We'll trade Delonte and take on a deal someone's trying to shed... but someone who could be a scorer.
-
I'd like to see us get Grant Hill, Tracy McGrady and Allen Iverson
-
You know at first I was done with the NBA. Not being a homer or anything, just the overall feel of the situation of the NBA as a whole. But you know what I LOVE GILBERT. Why do the Cavs need to be punished for the asshole actions of a few players. F*ck LeBron. I have a new affinity for Gilbert and MY Cavs. I will be at more games this season and support my team 100%. Gilbert is the best thing to happen to Cleveland since Jim Brown and Bernie. GO CAVS!
-
I want young players and draft picks. Everyone but Varejao and Hickson can go. I'm afraid we go out and overspend for some mediore vet.

He's 37 years old, he's not going to get a long term contract from anybody. No matter what his demands are

We need to go in the other direction- think young guys- like it or not, the Cavs are in a rebuild mode. Grant Hill is a clone of Jamison, so is McGrady for that matter- with less production BTW- we don't need them. We're still OK at power forward. Don't forget about Leon Powe. Iverson's 35, at the end of the road with no better current production than Mo Williams.
Center? I'll still take Shaq for limited minutes if he'll work vet minimum, but I have the feeling he'll do that- in Miami- to chase one more ring. Look for Hixon and Andy to split time at the 5, though Hixon's undersized, and Andy's undermuscled for it.

I want Iverson, Mo, McGrady, Hill, Varejao all on the court at once with Hickson, Jamison, West and who ever coming off the bench. Were gonna run the shit outta them score loads of points and play absolutely no defense. And we dont need no stinkin center.
 -
we could not get them all when they were younger and we had LeBron, why would they come now ? We will only worsen our cap space with these guys which will hurt us in the future.
And talking of future why are we trying so hard for Matt Barnes ?
