  • I think these departed guys miss us (fans). They get to these third-world cities who throw a bunch of money at them, but when they step out of their limo they get a gathering and a golf clap, not the crazy-eye frenzy freaking fans that live in Cleveland.

There's no place like Cleveland, there's no place like Cleveland ...

    There's no MAYBE about it.

The three years that they were on the same team, Anderson was 16-15 as a starter and while Quinn was 3-9.

Anderson was the better QB, Zombo was right, Shep and the QFs were painfully wrong.

    Long Live Jake Delhomme!

    Zombo

I REALLY couldn't agree more!!!! A huge thanks for this post!!!

  • The untold story here is one of the suffering browns fan once again, if DA thinks he was frustrated he needs to look at the beleaguered fans many knowing full well DA was not the answer and yet that lousy regime refused to let us see if BQ could be the answer for way to long..of course now we know why and neither one was the answer and both were the majority of the problem that just went totally unaddressed by savage and crennel..

It just recently dawned on me how much of a difference mangini ,heckert and holmgren have already made in improving the club, they are making the tough decisions that matter instead of letting things get out of control...now mangini needs to man up and do some pet dumping when something better comes along and quit playing favorites we all know ratty is never going to be any good and elam severely lacks awareness, aggression and a nose for the ball he is weak at both strong and free safety but is likely slightly better than adams at least until asante develops...

2 thumbs up for mangini showing the fans colt mccoy so we could see just how raw this kid is..he showed some good traits but needs a lot of work and it should prevent fans screaming for colt if jake and seneca make some mistakes, i look forward to watching colt mature over time as a quarterback or as trade bait if the regime deems it so but i appreciate the way mangini and this regime are running things...you cant help but to feel good about most of it..

Zombo your a f!cking idiot too. Better QB my ass, he had the worst QB rating possible, Quinn had a better rating just sitting on the bench. Maybe DA shouldnt have passed as much, maybe that was his problem?

    You f!cking mook bastard.

Dude they both blow. Lucky for you brady will be takin off his clothes for money in a few years. So save those dolla bills for some lap dances.

Oprah, barba walters, your wife. You have to kill one, marry one and xxxx one. Go

  • Agreed!

  • DA got the team to 10 wins! No other Browns QB has done that since 99'. (Only 8 Browns QB's have ever done that) The Brown should have gone to the playoffs that year if Dungey hadn't made his team take a dive in the last game of the year. Still people screamed for Quinn no wonder his confidence was shot.

I wish him luck. The Card's job will be his soon. Lienhart will be a bigger bust than Couch.

  • And kevin mass hit 24 hrs in half a season with the yankees and he was still a bum

  • How can one resist another DA/Quinn thread.

Somethings never change. Zombo you sound like Rich4tard telling everyone how you picked the lesser of two evils to blow.

Its good to have them both off the team. Their carnage still is present at least in this thread.

However; if you remember... the Browns controlled their own destiny and had control of that last playoff spot, and blew it when they lost to the Bengals. The Browns should have taken care of their own business instead of being at the mercy of another team. You knew Indy was going to rest their starters (stupid as it may be). They do it every year! They beat the Bengals, they win the division at 11-5, and Pittsburgh stays home. Instead we tie for the division at 10-6 and stay home.

Oh, I know. I totally remember the situation. Just easier to block that part out they were so close though.

I was at that game in Cincinnati on Christmas eve I think. Anderson IS the better QB but when he threw those two INT's right before half time that is was ended up costing us the game and our playoff spot. I was sooooo mad when my brother and I left that game!

  • my life is complete again....another anderson-queen thread

  • Because of my job I have the opportunity to talk to a lot of Panther fans. First of all most of them are spoiled and though they have had some bad seasons they don't understand the torture that being a browns fan is because they got such a sweetheart deal from the league when they started they were able to be competitive right in their second year. That is also the reason the Browns were forced to pick the scrap heap during their rebirth.

Anyway most of the Panther fans realize that they may have lost a good thing with Jake being gone. You can't ignore last year but you also can't ignore his previous 5 years. It is GREAT not to have a QB controversy. Lets not start one. Jake is the man this year period. Seneca, I was surprised to hear he was still in the league when the Browns picked him up. Colt is a good guy but like Quinn there was a reason he was drafted where he was.

  • Zombo said:

I always want what is best for the Browns. At that time, Anderson was better for the Browns.

Never said he was great. Never said he was the answer. Just said he gave us a better chance to win football games on Sunday than the other option.

I said to "blow up the position" ... to get rid of Anderson AND Quinn ... which they finally did, thank God.

It's really nice not hearing how one of our quarterbacks (the better one) is just an interception-throwing oaf and how the other was "big and strong and quick and mobile and smart and buff and really killed the wonderliks!"

Instead, we have a real QB in Jake. A proven winner. A veteran presence. Thank God the nonsense is over. I am really looking forward to this season.

    Zombo

Fair enough. Theres no bragging about making a call with those two though. And i would think all the bitterness for people who rooted for whoever should be gone by now. It doesn't make sense to keep regertitating the quinn insults or rubbing it in about how superior DA was(insert sarcasm), when neither qb is our problem anymore.

  • Derek and brady don't even deserve conversation. Brady will be out of the league teaming up with channing tatum in no time.

Derek will probably be able to be a back up for a few more years. I also didn't find the humor in his ints. He deserved to get cheered when he was hurt. I still replay it every now and then when I need a good laugh.

No Browns player EVER deserves to get cheered when he gets hurt. Im no big Anderson fan but I hope he does OK in Arizona. Playing with Braylon Edwards as your prime reciever has to drive a QB crazy.

DA went 2 for 17 in a game for 17 yards.

He had the worst QB rating possible, the back-up QB that doesnt even dress had a higher rating because he didnt throw a pass.

You may want whats best for the Browns, allegedly, but DAs cock is in your mouth and its hard to understand you. Think its time for another reach around on D & S.... you old stubborn bastid.

That was an ugly game but to be fair his WRs had at least 9 drops in that game if I recall correctly. Don't take this as an endorsement for DA because it isn't but those are the facts.

The ball hit the receiver's hands on 13 of those 17 passes. They were credited with 9-11 drops, depending on who you talk to. 9 is believable, the other two were tough catches.

I think mikey's got some pent up issues.

  • Anderson got a raw deal here. We can all point to the 2007 season as a positive or negative spin, however you want to look at it. Sure, he screwed up in throwing 4 INT's in Cincy ... but one could ask, what the hell were we throwing the ball so much for in that (windy) game anyway? or we could point to the Oakland game and the botched Fieldgoal that lost that game. Maybe we aren't in the hunt to just miss the playoffs if Anderson doesn't win the shoot-out against those same Bengals after taking over for Frye. Maybe the kid does a teeny-weeny bit better if he received the first team snaps that preseason.

All I know is that a lot of fans here got a redass for DA. The term 'Homo' was used a lot in describing these fans, not becaue of a Paris Hilton like slogan, but because all Quinn had was the buff (shirtless) body. It had to be the reason because the guy had never done anything football related in the NFL to win anyone over by his play. Anderson put up stats that linked back to the good ole days ... maybe even surpassed Kosar for a single season?

In a nutshell, whatever your fetish is, get over it. Anderson and Quinn are both gone. Quinn fans can go wrestle with those Tebow rascals. Anderson has a decent equal in Leinhart to beat out.

I wish'em both well. In fact, I wish Tim Couch well, wherever that nutsack is today.

Stop hating Mikey, you may get a BQ fix on NFL.com this preseason.

  • DA was just a godawful QB, as bad as I've ever seen start that many games.

He will never start again in the league, nor will he get any better. He has yet to improve since HS, so I doubt he will now.

He made a lot of money here and then spit in the town's face as he left. Savage and his tenure here will be remembered the most for setting this franchise back for years by committing to DumbAss.

Putrid fawking QB, but hey----he had an arm didn't he?
