I'm gonna have to disagree with one of your opinions. How does your WR/QB passing game get the advantage? You have Danny Amendola starting, he was a UDFA and spent the last 2 season's on practice squad's. I think your underrating MoMass, Robiskie, and Cribbs a bit. Cribbs didn't play special teams last game so he can focus on the WR position, so I wouldn't look at cribbs as just a special teamer. And you dont even mention the TE's Evan Moore and Ben Watson who also play in the slot and split out occasionally, they've been the brightest spot in the passing game. We put MoMass, Robiskie, Moore and Watson on the field with Jake Delhomme at QB....were gonna surprise alot of people this year passing the balls.
I disagree with your point on the WR's. It doesn't matter if Amendola was a UDFA, he has shown more in this league than Robiskie. Until Robiskie proves me wrong, I'll take Amendola any day over him (if not for his ST value alone). And Donnie Avery (or Robinson, take your pick) is every bit of the receiver Massaquoi is. And then we got Mardy Gilyard who should be a deep ball threat. But the Rams are actually pretty crowded at WR this year, despite what you might have heard. We don't have that elite #1 WR right now (neither does Cleveland), but we certainly have an intense fight for roster spots going on, and we got some quality at that position. Your WR core kind of reminds me of our WR core last year. You have a guy or two that showed some promise the previous year, but the rest of the guys are somewhat unknowns when it comes to regular season performance (other than a play or two in a few games). Cribbs could very well help improve the WR position for you guys, but again, he is an unknown for the most part (not a whole lot of time at WR).
But you could certainly make a point about your team being much better at TE. The Rams have basically nothing at TE except for very raw players with no experience, but with some potential. This is one point I failed to mention in the article.
Jake Delhomme could very well turn it around. But he kind of reminds me of Marc Bulger, except not as damaged. Bulger is completely shell-shocked and just no longer has any poise in the pocket, which causes a lot of stupid throws. I hope he works out for you guys, but I would easily take Bradford over Delhomme at this point, hands down. But that's just my opinion. Bradford's ceiling is at a point where Delhomme will never even sniff, we know Delhomme's ceiling (above average QB that can win with a good supporting cast). Bradford will make some rookie mistakes, but he just has a hell of an arm and killer accuracy.

I think you'll change your mind on Robiskie tomorrow night, will see. He didn't get on the field much last year because Mangini has a philosophy of earning playing time through special teams. Doing that helps with player respect and competition, no matter where your drafted you gotta earn playing time. Even if it hurts the team short term its worth the long term gain.
Robo was targeted 21 times at WR and had 7 catches for a average of 15yds a catch (7th in the AFC) That's made him work extremely hard through the offseason on route running and understanding the offense. This training camp and preseason he's shown what everybody wanted to see last year from a 2nd round pick. He'll go into the season the starter and will be the target of alot more passes; accurately thrown passes at that.
I would take Bradford over Delhomme because of age and upside, but that doesn't mean Bradford is anywhere close the QB JD is right now. In the future he'll probably be better, if they get him an O-line, but right now not even close.

And make no mistake about it, I didn't heckle you cause I thought you were a troll. I did it cause you liked the rams. I expected some whitty comments back, but I guess not.
I misread your tone. But you seem to have a problem with me "coming into your house" and laying down smack...but little do you know that's exactly what the Rams are gonna be doing to the Browns Saturday. I hope your rookie CB's like the smell of burnt rubber.

Now thats alot of talk for a team who got the first pick in the draft lol. You still going to show up Sunday to retract that statement after the Browns win 27-6?

I'll have to take a close look at Robiskie Saturday. I always liked him as a draft prospect, it should be interesting to see what he's capable of.
But I disagree with what you said about Bradford. I understand you are giving the edge to the vet, and you might even be right about Delhomme being a better QB right now. But I think you are under-estimating what Bradford is capable of, even as a rookie. I've been watching him closely, especially since he came to STL, and we've got a good one on our hands. I'm sure you're familiar with his potential, especially since there were talks of Cleveland moving up to grab him. But I'm telling you, that potential is already showing more than any Rams fan has expected at this point. Delhomme might still be better this year, but I don't think it's as far off as you think.

if i was a rams fan i'd be worried about bradford's durability, much like i am of colt mccoy's. man if he goes down on that shoulder again it could be career ending.
other than that how are the other draft picks looking for you guys? is chris long living up to expectations?

miket,
thats cool you got to go to the old yankee stadium. I haven't been to a game in about a year. Its crazy going back to the bleacher creatures they will make anyone look like a saint. I was disgusted when I saw a little kid get his orioles banner ripped in half and thrown off the upper deck. Arod is gay! I did like the indians after major league. It would be great if harry doyle was your announcer and ricky vaughn did play for them.
stlsportblog,
The sad thing is the rams will probably have the number 1 pick again and most likely we will trade up to take a QB. it is a lose lose situation in my opionion. If we win too many games we get stuck with mangina, but hell i cant root for them to lose... So here is to the Browns becoming the 1999 rams

He might be on par or even better than Jake naturally throwing the ball, but reading defenses, calling audibles, all the intangible's that can't be learned in 1 offseason JD has the advantage. Leadership is gained through experience and performance, when you've been to playoff's and superbowl's people listen and follow. Bradford has to follow the leader before he can be the leader.

Trust me, Bradford's injury was a topic discussed in GREAT detail among Rams fans. Personally, I am not worried about the injury. The inury "issues" were blown way out of proportion IMO. His ac joint (the joint he injured) was actually reinforced with metal, so it will actually break the bone it's connected to before the actual ac joint breaks/fracture again. So that is why I'm not worried about his shoulder. If he gets injured, I think it will be a different injury that is not related to the shoulder.
As far as the other picks...
OT Roger Saffold- is far beyond any expectations anyone had for him. Word from training camp is that he is better than any other o-lineman for the Rams (even Jason Brown, one of the better centers in the league). They even have him at LT over our 2009 #2 overall Jason Smith
Jerome Murphy- Looked great in mini-camps, but having some rookie growing pains as of now. He is looking pretty solid but has some work ahead of him. He's a very physical and hard hitting CB.
WR Mardy Gilyard- A lot of people thought he was a 2nd rounder. We got him in the 4th. He is still making some adjustments because he played in the spread. But the guy has killer moves and is turning heads at camp, he might be used as a KR before he is a WR. But there is a lot of buzz surrounding him.
6th rd pick TE Fendi Onobun- The guy played hardly any footballl in college. But he is 6'6" 260lbs and runs a 4.4 40. He was drafted soley on his athletic ability. Obviously we are hoping he is another "basketball player turned star NFL TE" like Gates and Gonzalez... but we'll see
7th rd pick DE George Selvie- He could really be a steal. He was the DE opposite Jason Pierre-Paul in college. He was thought to be a 1st or 2nd round prospect, but last year he got a lot of double teams (which allowed JPP to get a lot of buzz). He has been very impressive so far, he will probably be used mostly as a pass rusher, but he is already working with the 1st team D on passing downs (not bad for a 7th round pick)
Then there is Bradford who is looking phenominal... There are some other picks, and UDFA rookies, but no one really worth mentioning as of yet. Also, watch for a young DT name "Cudjo", he played well last week, he is a no-name that is starting to emerge.

I cant wait till the Browns defense eats Bradford for lunch. He's not gonna know what hit him lol.

while i don't agree with browns fans attacking the st louis fan who came here for info, imho i think the st lou fan should've done his own research. all he had to do was go to the cleveland browns official site or google cleveland browns to find his info the way a real sports blogger should. but since he took the easy way out, i hope he doesn't take all of the credit for his sports blog by just putting his name on it. he should atleast thank members of thebrownsboard.com.

Taking over 3 hours to gather info and write an article is not "taking the easy way out". Like I've said, multiple times now, news articles typically focus on a player or two, or one aspect. Do you know how many articles I would have to read to find answers to some of the most simple questions on unknown rookies? And btw, I did primarily use news articles as my source. And I did thank the members who did provide info. I didn't hit the "thanks" button, but I figured a written form of gratification would be more meaningful. And I did give credit to fans in areas where I used only the fan's info (read the part about the your outside linebackers, and I think there was one other part).
EDIT: But I'm open to suggestion, I think a quick 'thanks' is in order for this website. A few members provided me with some valuable info that I used, so I guess your idea to mention it at the end of the article on the website is something I can do. Consider it done.

Hey guys, you still wanting me to check back in after the game? Our D is looking awful dominant against a team that is supposedly "better all around, position by position"

You are a idiot. And buffalo is a better team than the colts. We fumbled the ball and are missing the right side of our oline. I never knew anyone to talk smack on a preseason game but live it up. Oh and go drink some antifreeze and drive
In all seriousness we look sloppy but rather have them look like this the 2nd preseason game.

Lol... You're comparing your team to the Colts? You are delusional.
Don't blame the fumbles, that's your problem. It's called discipline, it's part of the team's performance. It's raining for our team too.
