Browns Vs Lions .... Your thoughts

  • Jake impresses me-- wish he'd go downfield more but he's using what he's got and I like what I see.. Huge improvement..

Defense scares the hell out of me.. Come on Shaun, heal fast ...We need the big guy....

Some cheap penalities were called tonight... How can there be interference when the ball thrown is totally uncatchable... Doesn't that apply in the modern NFL....

We need a #1 receiver although Josh is quietly growing into the wide receiver position....

Gotta find a way to stop the run... Giving up too many big plays 15+ yards....

    Hillis is a beast....

I like what I see but we have a long way to go............................

    Peace

    T.Dawg

  • My biggest concern is the D- line , and special teams .............weren't πŸ˜•

  • I thought the offense looked very good tonight with Jake running the team. He

seems to put the team into good plays. It looks like the Browns will be much improved

    on offense.

The defense is a different story. It's the same old, same old. They can't stop the run,

they can't cover a tight end, the linebackers look sloooooooooooow, and Abe Elam

is absolutely terrible!!!! If I were Mangini I would seroiusly consider cutting him and

at the very least put him on the bench. Start Mike Adams or move Brown from corner to

safety and start Haden. I don't think Ryan is showing much but even then his defense

has not stopped any of the first team's offenses we have faced.

BTW Calvin Johnson is a beast!!

  • I really hope the Defense is holding back blitzes for the regular season. Its funny how teams are not going after Ward now. He is in alot of plays but hasnt been beat since the first game. Our Offense looks good as well, and if you havent noticed, the wild dawg hasnt been released yet. Jake is still feeling these WRs out and I think he is going to be great for us. The addition of Hills was a great pickup for us, he has done it all so far, and has brought a swagger to the Team. From what I have seen so far this season is that we do have a bit of work left to do, but we are on the right track.

Why go after Ward when Elam is on the field. Elam makes no impact plays, can't cover, and can't

    tackle. The Trifecta!!!!

  • First team looks pretty good considering the little time they have worked together, much work still needs to be done on both sides of the ball but a lot of that polish will eventually come with the team jelling as the season goes on and more hits in next years draft...

We still have no quality depth at many of our second unit/backup positions but you expect to see this in the middle of a rebuild...this rebuild has been so much better orchestrated under this great regime than i would have thought possible at this stage with the mess they inherited...hits from the draft, sweet trades, very selective FA pickups and good coaching are already having a measurable impact..

Im even liking Dabolls playcalling even in its vanilla form but lets hope he adds strawberry "n" chocolate and calls it something besides neapolitan...hehehehe

Its feels good knowing your team is finally heading in the right direction and is going to be competitive and playing their asses off to try and win until the last whistle is blown..its been so long i almost forgot what it feels like..its going to require a little patience but this time its for real i can feel it in my gut! πŸ˜‰

    Jake Rocks!

35 years young and lookin good in orange and white!

  • Regular season game the Browns win this one easy.

Hillis was a terrific pickup. Our wrs aren't going to scare anyone. Harrison needs to hold onto the ball. As Gips said depth is a concern, and Elam is a liability at saftey.

Those bashing lame arm McCoy need to give it a rest- the kid threw the ball 60 yards in the air last play of the game.

Aye but the rookies have to tested and ward nor haden will be tested for long, and in the regular season they will go after elam by ground and air...even when blitzing abe is to slow to get around blockers and to weak to plow around them..many of us know he stinks at both FS and SS but he is slightly better than than the other guys currently competing including asante...honestly abram elam isnt half as good as poole was but he is twice as tough but only because he doesnt tackle hard or run hard and he isnt going to get any better like some think...and thats what the draft is for when you have a competent GM and by golly i believe we do..πŸ˜‰

Ward... i love that kid wow its nice to see a SS that can also cover as an FS he has some learning to do but i love watching him charge around the field like a pit bull looking for his bone..but he will likely get injured fairly often because that kid comes to play ball and thats expected to a certain degree with agressive SSs and thats also why elam would make a great backup to ward next year, he is durable by the very nature of his non aggressive slow reactive style, slow speed and weak tackling..

  • It scares me more when the offense sux in preseason than the defense. There is nothing exotic about preseason defense or offense, but if the offense can't even move the ball, run proper routes, read basic defenses, etc than your screwed.

Anyways I love how we finally have vets who are here to teach the yung'uns AND can still play at a high level.

No doubt Colt has the arm, probably why he was made a qb in the first place. When I talk about a minus arm it doesn't mean he can't put it down field. I don't think he can put it down field with any accuracy. That ball last night was 7 yards out of bounds. passes out of bounds give you ZERO chance.

We would have had a better chance to score calling a 5 yard swing.

That was Quinns problem as well. Once asked to throw all out, there goes any degree of accuracy....at least we now know all of Colts deep throws need to be aimed towards the goal posts, be it a disadvantage since you now have the entire secondary able to converge on the ball rather than half.

  • I thought the late hit/personal foul on Suh was complete bs on Suh's part. I love hard hitting football, but that was a blatant attempt to injure someone. He grabbed Jake's face mask, yanked on it one way, and then pulled back on hishelmet and threw him to the ground. I was truly surprised Jake was not injured. I'm sure his neck will be hurting today.

That was a punk ass move and he's going to be fined. I just hope they fine him a lot.

    http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2010082852/2...lions#tab:watch

Video: Throw him down, big man! Throw him down!

  • I agree suhs play was total bs. I was hoping he would get chopped blocked and tear an acl. Seemed like detroit was just a dirty team.

I am not worried about our d yet either. While we don't have the players to be great, we will scheme and look better in the regular season. I'm sure the pats d wanted to look inept also. It is what it is preseason. Players don't play with intensity, coaches don't sceme and I don't get an errecction

Some of you Browns fans are amazing! When your guy does it, it's a great play, or, hey it's a tough sport. When it happens to your guy, it's a cheap shot, a dirty team, and you root for a season ending injury?

You your ED problems have nothing to do with this forum!

He grapped Jakes face mask and threw him down. If that were Peyton Manning or Tom Brady Suh would have been suspened for 3 games and fined out the ass. Everyone throws in a cheap shot, but to try to break someones neck is just bullshit.

  • Formerly Stone said:

Come on......you honestly don't believe he was trying to break his neck do you? It was just an off balance grab. As far as the throw down, hey, it's a tough sport!

Yea, knowing you are 300lbs and pulling on a helmet one way and the body the other way. It was a shitty move on his part, and yes it is a tough sport but you have to be able to protect you QB.

  • Formerly Stone said:

    You're over-reacting

Yep im over reacting to Our starting QB getting tossed around like a rag doll, my bad. Like I said if it were Manning or Brady this story would be bigger.

  • Formerly Stone said:

Nobody likes to see their QB get tossed around but, again, if a Browns player did the tossing you guys would be celebrating his intensity. And as far as Manning or Brady, you're over-reacting.

No he's not. If that happened to Tom Brady Suh would get suspended.

  • Detroit fans have to love Suh's intensity. I love it. But he was out to HURT someone in a xxxxing preseason game. It's one thing to lay a big hit on a QB and knock him out...its another to grab a face mask, rip the guy around, then slam him into the ground. Clean injury=unfortunate but acceptable...dirty hit injury is just what it is...dirty. What if Shaun Rogers ripped Ben's head off like that in a preseason game? Then what would you be saying? The same things we are saying.

  • Formerly stoner, if a browns player did this I would be sick. Facemask I can understand, that shit happens. He was obviously frustrated at the lack of presure and took out his frustration. The second part where he tried to slam him down was gay.

U are a fukcin idiot... I know ur use to slamming ur boyfriend down. The difference between u and suh, is u couldn't beat urself out of wet paper bag.

  • Formerly Stone said:

You're all over-reacting. He let go of the face mask long before he threw Jake to the ground. Jees...........

Go look at a Lions forum and see what they're saying. Most agree is was uncalled for. They mainly complain about the impact it will have with penalties against their team.

Yeah he showed great intensity, but there's a line and he crossed it. The facemask was ok, it happens. Then putting his arm around the head, what ever... he was trying to get him down. But to jerk him back the other way by his head and throw him down, cmon man... That's way uncalled for, the play was over. It's especially when some rookie punk does that to a guy who is a vet in the league.

    Go fcuk yourself Stone.

    Dear Douchebag:

    Cut and pasted from scout.com

I loved it, when is the last we had a player on defense that scared the other QB's. I want it as my Avatar.tongue

Can someone post a video of Suh trying to rip

Delhomme's head off? That was pretty funny.

i have to agree with most people here and i loved he showed some sort of emotion. prior to the penalty there was a browns player all in suh's face, then the very next play he destroyed jake. if suh unleashes that type of attitude every play he will become even more disruptive.

I enjoyed it and I hope the next qb he rips the head off of is wearing a Minnie Vikings uniform.

In one play Suh did everything that the league is trying to protect quarterbacks from. Honestly, it was sort of awesome.

The play gets better every time I watch it. Yes it was a facemask. Yes, it was unnecessary roughness after the QB got rid of the ball but there's no way he saw Delhomme get rid of it. I love the play. It's the preseason guys. I'm not ashamed, I'm proud. Maybe we can be a team that will be feared. If I am a QB, I don't want Suh getting anywhere near me.

Ripping off Delhommes head? C'mon Delhommes head is still in tact and he's fine. No stretchers were bought on the field after the play

Dont like it? Stay out of the big mans way. It could have been way worse. It's football folks and I'm ok with people thinking of Detroit as having an intimidating D-Line.

    Dear Asswipe:

I could really give two shits what that site or you have to say. You can keep posting, but I'm done communicating with lesser life forms.
