I didnt draft this year yet but last year my team was god like
2009 roster: UNDEFEATED
QB: Matt Schaub
RB: Chris Johnson
RB: Adrian Peterson
RB/WR: Cedric Benson
WR: Andre Johnson
WR: Wes Welker
TE: Dallas Clark
K: Ryan Longwell
DEF: Saints
Philip River
Brett Favre
Ricky Williams
Jerome Harrison
Roddy White
Miles Austin
Brent Celek
Nate Kaeding
49ers
How many people in this league have severe down syndrome? Peterson and Chris Johnson are consensus one and two in every league and every format. I could see taking Peterson a 3 in a PPR league but otherwise 1 and 2 end of story. Andre Johnson is also a fringe top 5 selection depending on format but a definite first round pick. The fact that you have all 3 indicates you either in a league by yourself or the rest of it's membership would rather try stuffing a square peg in a round hole for 5 hours.
EDIT: AND Roddy White who goes in the 2nd round consistently in just about every mock I've seen this year. Who was the first pick in this draft? Let me guess Peyton Manning or Tom Brady? lol

I agree. I looks like it is a league for Retards...no insult to the owner intended....at least he knew who to take.

Fvck no. Adrian Peterson should put up comparable points. All you're doing is throwing in a receiver for free.

Peterson will fumble more than Johnson though.Do you get negative points for fumbles? He had 7 fumbles last year during the regular season. Fantasy football championships usually happen in weeks 14-17 for fantasy football depending on the league. Adrian Peterson still puts up monster numbers and as I said above in one of my posts is the consensus number 2 pick in just about every league and the difference is minimal. Trading AD and Housh for Chris Johnson is just handing the CJ owner a solid fantasy receiver for free. CJ and AD production will be very similar and don't be surprised to see Peterson put up more points.

I like that CJ for AP and houshmazdah
Housh shouldnt even be in your starting line-up and CJ> AP
Good trade. fill in your open roster spot with a september hot starter off of FA's...

It's not a good trade no matter how you shake it. Housh will still be a solid WR in all formats. Justin Forsett should burst on to the scene out there and they have Leon Washington. All of which leads to a bolstered run game something they haven't really had since Alexander was run out of town. Hasselbeck appears healthy and they added Golden Tate in the draft. Housh will have someone opposite him to take some of the heat which will lead to more targets and ultimately more completions. I'm not saying Housh will be a fantasy monster but he'll be solid. The difference between Peterson and CJ is going to be minimal so no I wouldn't have made that trade and there is a reason the other guy did.

Housh is a ham and egger no other way to slice it. You can get a better WR (or player in general if u need a back up at another spot) off the waiver wire. The difference last year between CJ and AP wasn't so minimal. AP had about 700 less total yards and only 2 more TDs. do the math at a pt for every 10 yards and 6 for a td CJ was about 58 pts better then ap. divide that by a 16 game season .... Do the trade! CJ is a beast or listen to the squeelers fan and ride out whos your moma

I guess it depends on your scoring format. Defense are also going to key on Johnson heavily this season and AD is a more physical runner. Either way in most formats the differences aren't huge. CJ is certainly a more intriguing RB but Housh is still had 82 catches and almost a thousand yards without a run game to keep defenses honest last year. In standard scoring formats it was a 11 point difference between the two running backs. Even in a PPR format the difference is minimal. I'm not sure what kind of scoring your fantasy league employs but in no regularly used format did CJ outscore AD by 58 points. You also aren't going to find a easy wire replacement for Housh. Sure people get hot but everyone else in the league is going after those hot tickets so you better hope you have waiver priority. I definitely don't make the trade but I've said that 4 times now.
EDIT: And what stats are you looking at? 700 less total yards? CJ barely beat out Peterson in receiving yards and catches and only had 193 more yards on the ground.

CJ: Rushing Yards: 2006 Receiving yards: 503 Total Yards: 2509
AP: Rushing Yards: 1383 Receiving yards: 436 Total Yards: 1819
2509-1819= 690 yds.
Not quite 700, but close right?
He had 600 more yards on the ground. You were right with the receiving yards though.
Also, here are their total fantasy points for 2009 in a PPR league.
CJ: 360 total
AP: 292 total
68 point difference. Accounting for a 16 game schedule, Johnson outscored him by 4.25 points per week.
So the question is, is TJ Houschmazoadazilla 4.25 points better than your average guy off the wire?
T.J. was the number 26 receiver in this format. A WR3. He scored 149 points or 9.3125 per week.
Mario Manningham was number 30. He scored 133 points, or 8.3125 per week.
Chris Chambers was 40. He scored 118 points or 7.375 per week.
Giving up T.J. just leaves an open spot on your roster to pick up a young guy getting hot. There's no throwing in anything extra. It all comes down to who is more valuable to you between CJ and AP. TJ's stats were a dime a dozen. Hasslebeck is still in a bad position, I like Forsett but he won't get his shots, and Seattle is still not a good team.

Forsett is the starter in Seattle and while I agree there are guys that get hot on the wire a lot of those guys are being drafted. I usually like to keep my horse on the good teams. CJ is certainly the focal point of the Titans but he's also going to rely heavily on the consistency or inconsistency of Vince Young. People are going to really key on Johnson as well. The offense in Minnesota even without Sidney Rice is more potent especially with the return of the drama queen. If I had the number one pick in my draft and had to choose I'd be going CJ but he's not heads and shoulders above AD and Housh will get the catches in Seattle. I dunno. It's just not a trade I'd make. And is the guy in question IN a PPR league? He may not be and in standard scoring the difference between the two backs is minimal.

CJ was approximately 60yds per game better with Vince at the controls I believe though. Does he repeat that? Who knows. I agree Johnson isn't head and shoulders better than Peterson. I like the Vikings, A LOT, don't get me wrong. My argument I guess is whether Housh is worth even considering a week in week out starter. Housh is his best in a PPR league, so, in my opinion, if he were in a different format Housh is even more easiy replaceable. I see both their (AP and CJ) stats returning to nearly even totals. My big problem is with Housh. He was less than two points better per game than Chris f'in Chambers last year, and a mid level WR3. I just don't value Housh, the same way I didn't trust Dwayne Bowe in 09.
I see the trade as Chris Johnson plus a waiver wire pickup for AP and more or less a waiver wire caliber player. Call me wrong, just my opinion.

I would take him hands down over peterson and to give up a guy like housh to me is a no brainer. Every year undrafted guys emerge. Miles austin went undrafted in most leagues and finished well into the top 10 last year.
You are really discounting the other offensive weapons on the Titans ... VY is coming into his own, Britt is a young talented WR, Scafie is a nice TE and Cook is a young TE with some nice potential, Nate Wash is a steady WR, and Damien Williams from USC is looking decent. Its not like they are absolutely terrible here. Plus not saying it would happen, but who knows if Gerhardt ends up stealing some goaline carries from AP .... no one is stealing anything from CJ

Toby Gerhardt will take carries ONLY when AP can't physically go at the goal line. I'm also not discrediting the rest of the titan offense I just don't trust VY even if he did have a bounce back towards the end of the season. I guess in hindsight the trade isn't terrible but the guys that are considered sleepers are getting drafted in a lot of leagues this year. I don't think the waiver wire explosions will be as abundant in a league that knows what the hell they are doing. Who knows maybe suns is in a league of clueless owners and it will pay off. You are right though, it's not a bad trade..it's just not one I'd make confidently.
