Whats up with CRIBBS on kick's
-
In they're eyes being a receiver is a bigger deal than a return specialist, so he doesnt wanna get hurt returning and lose the bigger money....what a shame

He's got the rep as the best return man in the league now. Opposing teams take a huge part of their game plan to stop Cribbs on special teams returns. He hasn't "lost" his desire to return, he's gained the respect of every team in the league...

I agree totally... every announcer talks about him being a deep threat and blah blah blah... it was nice to win a game today with out him having to run two back to the house! (not that I would have minded!)

This hits the nail on the head. Cribbs has not lost interest in returning kicks at all, he takes alot of pride in holding the NFL record for kicks returned and I promise you he would love to raise that record even higher.

I was wondering the same thing remember when the Bears made Devin Hester into a reciever and he didnt return one for like three years up until last week, i was only wondering before the season began if Cribbs would catch that same kind of syndrome i really cant quite figure it out Hester was a freak returner as well and then just became a reciever and didnt take anymore back then they gave the job to Daniel Manning

Another thing to consider is that we are not giving up over 30 points every game this season, so Cribbs has fewer chances at those huge returns than before.

He has looked disinterested all season, like hes more intwrewted in being a receiver or something

I though I just Read where Hester had a Boat load of TD Returns in his 1st 5 yrs... then a Long Slump , before getting another . Maybe its More Focus by opponents and kicking away and all that. I Think if you let your guard down BOOM... there he goes. But then again all great Returners seem to have a 4 or 5 yr Peak , then Fade away too.

Kind of reminds me of when teams started kicking away from Eric Metcalf! I know after the Steelers were burned twice in one game they stopped kicking to him!

UGH... I remember that Game well in my Parents Living Room. I think I tossed a Pen into the wall after the 2nd one. Needed Players to remove them... My Dad was to Busy Yelling to Notice (Lucky me)

I think the blocking has been poor compared to the past two years and Josh has lost some confidence in his blockers.

I remember that game well. I was still living at home, and my parents were in Florida, so I had my dude and his girl (who was a Steelers fan) over to watch the game. Afterwards we tormented her. Mostly because she was an Ohio born Steelers fan, and she rooted for Pittsburgh, and Denver, to piss her dad off. Oh, but she liked the Cavs though.

The highlight of that second punt return still makes me jump out of my chair everytime that I see it. That was the season we started 5-2, had the lead in the division, cut Kosar after getting crushed by Denver, and finished 7-9. That game though, and the Monday Night game when we beat the Niners were my 2 favorite games that season.
