Jerome Harrison traded for Mike Bell (Jay Glazer reporting)
-
I saw him fumble 10 times with the nest o line in football. Covered up by the same o line that was blocking for him.
thats funny cuz he doesnt have 10 fumbles in his entire career

Fumbled lost?

I love my browns. Making a trade mid season no way

the browns got better.
harrison has taken 6 carries over the past 3 weeks. mike bell didnt fit in the pass first offense in philly. but when the saints ran the ball, mike bell was the go to guy and in this browns offense where running the ball is key, it will help a ton to have another guy who runs north and south behind the best left side in all of football

denver was nearly 3 years ago and in his second season there he didnt get enough carries
in his first season in denver he had comparable numbers to his last season in new orleans as a super bowl champ
157 carries for 677 yards in his first season in denver
172 carries for 654 yards in his only season in new orleans

I hope you are right there. And I hope your gay ass picture is not.
Black and gold community, WTF are you doing here anyways?
p.s. if he is the next coming of Christ, why hasn't he been the featured back (excluding injury) in ANY system. Zing.......

blackandgold.com is the saints forum that i post on. its a lot like this site and if you read my first thread i encouraged everyone here to go and chat with the posters there. lots of good football knowledge and discussion. they are a tight knit group and are very friendly and welcome anyone
i started posting here because:
i live in canton
im also a browns fan
the saints play the browns this year
sorry for being so nice and informative.
**edit**
mike bell isnt the next coming of christ. he isnt even the next coming of peyton hillis. but he is a running back that fits the system that the browns run and he has shown that when he is given opportunities, he does a lot with them.

some of them are. but its to be expected
you dont expect to have a fan of another team to come in and know a lot about your team. i follow the browns too so i like reading what everybody else here thinks about them
for the most part the posters here have welcomed me but ive had a few jump on me. probably because they are afraid that i'll talk smack about the brownies. i assure you that i wont. im just here to support them and give a somewhat unbiased opinion of what the rest of the league is looking at when they see the cleveland browns

everyone thought hillis was crap when he was thrown in with the BQ trade, look what we have now. bell will be a solid #2 behind hillis, and thats all we need, someone whos good enough to be an actual option when hillis is getting a breather or injured. last game we couldn't run the ball when hillis wasn't in cause harrison wouldn't get us anything.

Very misinformed? Dude you got bitch slapped because you wanted to throw our new QB in even after holmgren said he wouldnt be playing this season. We had no clue that jake and seneca would both go down with injuries, and that is the only reason colt is starting. not because he is any better then the other two.
aye yai yai.

Looks like i was right...AGAIN.....anyway Canton probably forgot more about football than most here know...from the looks of your buddys knowledge of Mike Bells career fumbles he would be in that number..You can be tough behind that monitor pal..thats typical of 12 year old behavior..

Exactly.
One also has to consider that Bell runs a lot like Hillis, so when one or the other is in, the plan doesn't have to change. It seems to me the blocking calls are more of a power zone blocking scheme....get a hat on somebody and drive them and let the bruiser make a hole and get 3-4 yards. Harrsion couldn't do that....he needed seams, and why he couldn't do much.
Bell is the perfect back-up to Hillis.
We have settled on a power running game...grind out 3-4-5 yards a pop.
Change of pace is great unless the change of pace was to have the back slammed to the ground at the LOS.....which is what Harrison provided
-
We will be sure to grind the clock, but we also will be sure to be 2-14

To clarify, Holmgren said he wouldn't play unless (paraphrasing) bad things happened which means both Jake and Seneca go down with injury. Well, it's time to take the wrapping off of the emergency procedure. Holmgren isn't stupid. He knows what he said. He and the coaching staff have discussed this contingency (I'm speculating).
This illustrates one problem with sports fans (not necessarily Dff88) and that is that we have a hard time with reading/listening comprehension. "can" does not mean "will" and "won't" can always be qualified with a contingency. Small details make a big difference.

I agree like I said we have no choice but to start him now. McCoy is the only quarterback on the roster that has had reps since final cuts were made.

Do you even follow the NFL you moron?
Yeah he does but according to Gips; Thomas having the only bad game, against a very underrated DE in Abraham who no one really talks about, since we drafted him signifies that Thomas is quitting on the team and is going to want to be traded.
As far as the latest trade goes... I liked what Harrison did last year but it was evident this year that he just wasn't getting it done and I'm glad we did something about it now then wait till the off-season.
-
I am beginning to wonder if Davis had inched ahead of Harrison on the depth chart and the team decided to make the move while Harrison still maintained some value..
-
I just love how everyone know's all there is to know about this guy and we havn't even seen him play one down in a Browns uniform yet. I think ill reserve my judgement for after Sundays game lol.

This is a great trade for the organization. I don't know what the argument is for - we took a person that we didn't want in a system, and he did not want to be in the system - and we were able to fill that with a back that will be able to benefit the system. This is huge, and maybe you have to know every aspect of the game to realize it - but it is. Our offensive line, when productive, is one of the most explosive and strongest in the NFL. When you put in a back like PH 2/3 downs, and then an entirely different back on other downs - the style as to which your offensive line plays changes completely. We now have essentially the same type of back running every down. The offensive line, now only has to worry about shrugging their man, pulling their man, every down - every play. Peyton Runs for two downs, 3rd and 2, he's banged up and tired - Harrison comes in, and the Offensive Line collapses because they are not used to making they holes and running to the side in order to get the plays available to make him successful. Now we have an additional guy in here that can push it through the middle, and bounce of tacklers to get that extra yard. Oh yeah, he also falls forward too.
I'm impressed by this trade, better than the 6th round pick we were going to get from the Packers two weeks ago (yeah, this is true).
