Perhaps we can break down each unit of the team and see if what you say holds up:

QB: Steelers: BR certainly gets the resume edge over Sanchez.

RBs: Jets: I believe the combination of LeShon Green and LDT trumps Mendenhall

WRs: Jets: I believe the edge goes to Edwards/Holmes/Cotchery over Ward/Wallace etal

OL. Jets: Mangold/Ferguson etc. gets edge over patchwork Steelers line which because of injuries are working with some 3rd stringers

DL: Steelers.

LBs: Steelers

DB: Jets

Special teams: not sure....though even you say the Jets have the advantage there.

I think I have bee pretty fair with these assessments.

I doubt the Steelers lose this game. Yes, the Jets beat them there about a month ago, so chances of that happening again aren't too good.

Other points..1) the Jets kicker, Folk is very inconsistent. I wouldn't rely on him, especially at Heinz Field

2) the Jets running game is good, but the Steelers are so tough to run on, the game may fall on Sanchez to get the job done.

3) first team to 10 points is going to win

No Heath Miller or Troy Polamalu for round 1. I'd say both player make a big difference. It should be a good game tho.

QB against the D.....Huge advantage Steelers

RBs against the D .....Advantage Tie - Mendenhall is a pretty good runner, but LT and Greene are also a good combo

WRs against the D .....I'll take the Jets because Edwards and Holmes are much better than Brown, and Sanders, and an aging ward(who is still reliable)

OL Against the D.......I'll take the Jets. They can run block and pass block excellently

DL against the O.....Advantage Steelers

LBs against the O......slight advantage Steelers( Steelers LB are faster, and the Jets LB are slightly slower, but still good)

DB......Two words......Darrelle Revis... he is much more a game-changer than Polamalu. How many elite cornerbacks are in the league? I'll give you an answer: only one and his name is Revis....

Special teams........Advantage Jets

Why does everyone think the jets have an edge in special teams? Folk is more inconsistent than nate kaeding come playoff time and Brad Smith is banged up. Whoever kicks for the steelers now has been much better than Reed. Considering this game may be decided by a field goal, I say the steelers have the advantage in special teams...
