Your Personal 3 Round Mock Draft

The Browns Board
43 22 3.8k
  • no way hayward and matthews drop that far. hayward played himself into the top 15 in that sugarbowl game and matthews will go in the second.

  • Nfldraftscout still has Casey Mathews as a fifth rounder. That's bogus.

    *********************************************************

Here's my first mock draft with Green gone:

Round One - 6th pick - Marcel Darius, DE/DL, Alabama

    Round Two - Torrey Smith, WR/KR, 6-1, 205, Maryland

Round Three - Marcus Gilbert, OT, 6-5, 320, Florida

But, now I see that Torrey Smith may go in the first, easy, too.

So, with the idea that Marcus Gilbert may last until the fourth round for the Browns, because everybody else

got their tackles already, I like this draft:

Round One - A. J. Green (or drop down a bit and take Julio Jones?)

    Round Two - J.J. Watt DE, 6-6, 292, 4.87 Wisconsin

    Round Three - K. J. Wright, 6-3, 250,4.59 (lowest), Miss. St.

Those would be three immediate starter/impact players. OR, I'd jump at Wright in the second (to keep the ratbirds from

replacing stinkin ray blewis, and doing this:

Round One - A. J. Green (or drop down a bit and take Julio Jones?)

    Round Two - K. J. Wright, 6-3, 250,4.59 (lowest), Miss. St.

Round Three - Sam Acho, DE/DL, Texas

As I said Heyward would have to drop but alot of mocks still have him being a late 1st early second so there is a 50/50 chance that he falls. Also the Mathews pick isn't a stretch at all. Most mocks out there either have him going to us or being picked in the late 3rd. Obviously this would be the PERFECT draft but in reality it is who I personally think we will get with Heyward being the largest stretch, not Green. There is a good chance that the draft could end up looking like Top DE/DT, Baldwin, Mathews/OLB.

  • Here is the way we need to go.

    1st-Prince Amukamara, CB, Neb

    2nd-Marvin Austin, DT, UNC

    3rd-Corey Liuget, DE/DT, Illinois

I know first 3 picks are going to the Defensive side, but we need a shot of youth and talent on the side of the ball. These 3 together with Haden and Ward, would be one hell of a start for the Browns. I would also love to take a shot at another qb in rounds 4-7, maybe Christian Ponder from FSU.

I really think that they are going to try and go after Vincent Jackson this offseason. Also I think Cribbs will be gone on Draft day for like a 3rd-6th rounder and swapped picks.

Also these are the Free Agents I would love to have, but obviously we wont get them all.

    OT- Tyson Clabo

    ILB- Chad Greenway

    OLB- Matt Roth

    LB- Manny Lawson

    WR- Vincent Jackson

    WR- Sidney Rice

    WR- Steve Smith "Giants"

    RB- Darren Sproles

and for the love of god, please resign Phil Dawson.

  • 1) AJ Green

    2) casey mathews

    3)leonard hankerson

I'll agree about Dawson and Ponder (extremely smart guy) but not much else. We're not drafting the SECOND best corner at #6, not when you need wr-DL Lb help.

So we get rid of DUI Edwards and bring in double DUI (and holdout) Jackson? Not likely.

  • 1st. JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin

    2nd. Drake Nevis, DT, LSU

    3rd. DeAndre McDaniel, S, Clemson

  • Am I the only one who would love to trade up for Patrick Peterson? He and Haden would wreak havoc in the AFC for the next 10 years.

I hope ur the only one. Not only would I not draft him but def wouldn't trade up.

What good does it do if we have 2 shut down corners, but can rush the passer or stop the run?

AFter taking a CB in the top 10 last year I really think the last thing we will do is take another one in the top 10 this year when we need the most help at WR (if we don't pick one up in FA) and rebuilding the DL. I am 100% positive that we won't trade up to take one in the top 5 when the only difference between Peterson and Amukamara are that Peterson can do returns and is a slightly better tackler and Amukamare might be slightly better at coverage (didn't look too bad at tackling when I looked at his highlight film). I can't wait for a new CPA to be agreed on so teams can actually start trading and signing FA's. If one doesn't get worked on before the draft we will definatly see us picking DL and WR in the first 2 picks.

  • 1st round selection- PATRICK PETERSON CB LSU

Its a strech but he could fall to us at this spot. Every team drafting ahead of us is very poor on defense so which position do they draft. They are all in need of a CB and D-line. Not too many CBs get picked this high! Keeping fingers crossed. Alternate pick Marcell Dareus.

2nd round selection- GREG JONES ILB MSU

Hard hitter, sure tackler, yeah doesn't sound like the browns I know but this is the new browns, 2 def players first 2 rounds and both will end up starting

    Alternate pick -Marvin Austin

3rd round selection- Benjamin Ijalan G/OT Nova

They try to sure up the right side of the line with an overall well rounded lineman. Alternate Pick Leonard Hankerson WR Mia

    Heyward = another Vernon Gholston

Hmm, I guess you're right about trading up for him. But if he were available at #6, i'd take him in a heartbeat.

The only players I really want in the first round are AJ Green, Nick Fairley and Patrick Peterson (much better prospect than Haden). Odds are, we won't land any of them. If thats the case, we should trade down and pick up Robert Quinn who should still be there at #10-13.

Don't be an anti Ohio State homer. Just because they play the same position doesn't mean Heyward is going to following Gholston's footsteps. It's like saying that Ohio State is never going to have another good WR come out in the draft because of Ginn and Robiskie.

The only reason gholston failed is because he was lazy which everyone said he wouldn't be in the pros but he still was also you cant just expect to run around people in the NFL which is the only move he had Heyward on the other hand is versatile since he can move around on the line and still be effect not to mention he has power and decent speed where gholsten just had speed

I don't buy that a teams gonna draft a player that hasn't played football in 2 years in the first round. Character concerns and only 1 year of good production doesn't translate to a top 10 pick in my opinion. I think some draft guru's have him slotted way to high.

  • 1.Trade down to 13 to the Lions acquire extra picks and get Julio Jones...Dont see AJ Green being there and unless Fairley or someone falls no thanks on Quinn who hasnt played in a year

2.Justin Houston OLB Georgia...Or Cam Heyward if he were to fall, also maybe Marvin Austin

3.Casey Matthews trade up if you have to grab him
