  • I don't think anyone can tell how these guys are going to do until they start working together. Individual skills are not nearly as important as the sum of the parts. Since 'everyone on the same page' seems to be a theme with this administration, I'm guessing that's why these particular guys were brought together. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

  • Holmgren is a genius

He will prove his worth as a GM "this year"

    Go Mikey!

Holmgren is not the GM. Tom Heckert is.

Shows how much this idiot knows.

it seems like to me and i could be wrong,

you are....and thats where i stopped. your just not worth the time until you take off the glasses.

edit: so basically, you have no debate for any of the points i brought up?

how can i have "glasses" on ( i take it you meant homer glasses) when i never guaranteed anything and only said i'm optimistic for the future of this team? that doesn't mean i think we're going to the playoffs this year. that doesn't mean i think we're going to win the superbowl. it simply means i think we have some capable people running this team who seem to be on the same page and i look foward to seeing what they can do.

not sure what you're getting at. but feel free to actually go back to my post (#20) where i thoroughly explained my points and debate against any of them. or feel free to come up with your cop out responses/taking my words out of context because you can't debate any of my points.

you just seem to be one of those doom and gloom, whoa is me types who would rather sit in a puddle of tears than to be objective. and yes, your post looks very much like the pro-mangini fans who seem to hate on holmgren and co lately. if i'm wrong on that one so be it. but hey, we can agree to disagree and leave it at that.

i don't think pointing out some facts in a smarmy way makes you anti anything. it just goes to show that a lot of people are still upset with holmgren and the way he ousted mangini in what should have been called a lame duck year. i'm not pro-mangini. i'm pro browns. but after 40+ years of rooting for this team and only seeing glimpses of greatness, the big fat fart in the front office better back up his so-called genius and move this team forward. say what you want about mangini but he cleaned out that shit hole of a locker room and was basically used to pass the torch of a good foundation on to holmgrens' boys.

let's just see how these guys work out before you give them grades. you might be asking for that paper back at the end of this coming season (god willing). let's hope we can give them passing grades across the board.

umm, i didn't give out any grades. i think you have me mixed up with someone else.

umm, wow. not sure where you're going with a statement like this. sounds like you want the browns to lose so you can be right and tell us optimistic folks we're wrong.

I thought Mangini could have been a good head coach if given more time (could have fixed a few easy mistakes that he kept making with time management and such) but I feel like if anyone should be blamed for the Mangini firing it should be Lerner. He was the one who brought in Mangini and then the next year brought in a team President with completely conflicting football ideals. I am glad to see that Mangini is gone since Holmgren is here because it is really one or the other, the president isn't going to fire himself and he is going to want what he think can work for the team. I just don't see the point in having a GM and a president who are used to finding players for a particular system and have a coach run a whole different one. Things just work out the way they do and I can not wait till next season to see what this new coaching staff can do.

Or he is saying that he hopes we can give all the coaches A's at the end of the season.

i guess he could've put his period in the wrong place or maybe worded it better. if so, my mistake.

I think he kind of explains it when he says "let's hope we can give them passing grades across the board."

i'm not about to get into a back and forth debate with this guys pr about a sentence that could've been worded better and could also be interpeted in different ways.

oh come on now sj_browns: see now i take difference to your statements about how i felt when posting on this board. listen up little-chicka-dee:

the 'god-willing' statement was to say 'god-willing' there is a season next year. anyone in fifth grade english could've followed along with that one. time to get off the madden 2009 and peak your beak into the sunshine out of your chicken coop.

we are hopefully all free spirits here and we can choose to follow the football spirits in anyway we feel desirable without a school marm coming in to smack us over our knuckles and say we were wrong for even thinking such a thing. and you wonder why the world is going to shit in a hand-basket?

here's my bet: dick jauron head coach of the browns in 2013 with ray rhoades dc. heckert still here, holmgren on his last leg. bet?
