Think we could trade Jake for a washing machine and get rid of his contract????

I need a new washing machine. Do you think the Browns would trade him so that I could get a new washing machine?

  • I think that Cincy may go for a QB if Palmer does indeed retire like he says he will do, but i see them grabbing Green to try and make his life a lil easier....But ill be hoping they go after Cam Newton or another QB but i just dont see that theres any QBs worth taking at the #4 spot unless Newton blows people away with his Pro day and 40 time and other things

  • I would love Peterson. I love me some good corner play!

    He's a tank but does he make it to 6? I think he's a top 5 talent.

EDIT: And for those suggesting a trade up it would be ABSOLUTELY mental. You're picking 6th and will have a great talent at that spot no matter what. I don't know what trading up would cost but it would likely too much and you may only need to move up one spot. Most of the mocks I've seen have the Browns drafting AJ Green so I imagine that's the pick especially if the Bengals lose Palmer and even then I don't see them drafting a WR. They still have CJ and Owens will probably stick around. I don't think a WR makes Palmer stay.

I don't see any way that Owens will be allowed to say after running his mouth at the end of last season. But, Cincy has done a great job of drafting receivers in the past and not first rounds. Whosyourmomma and Chad were both second rounders I think

A lot of teams go BPA instead of need and AJ Green is the BPA. I really don't see any way he makes it to 6. As far as being mental for suggesting a trade up, I stated that I almost always hate the idea but when there is a chance to fill your biggest need with the best prospect that has come along in 3-4 years sometimes you have to bite the bullet. Is it worth the price/risk? I am not sure. But if the FO truly believes in McCoy then they need to get him some weapons. If you go into next season with Ben Watson and Peyton Hillis as your top receiving threats then you should just press the fast forward button until it is time for the 2012 draft.

  • Lets trade Delhomme and a 4th rounder to Cincy for their pick. I'm game.

  • question: where can i find combine results?

  • There is no way we trade a pick. If Cincinnati drafts green, we definitely need to draft a corner. This year almost seems like a wash with all the cba drama heading in a bad direction. Also I have a feeling Cribbs will be traded on draft day, for what I am not sure.

  • IMO, trading up for a WR would be insane. But exactly the kind of stupid move we have been known for I guess. We aren't a WR away from contending. If we were a strong team with one major weakness at wr then it might make sense. Too many holes to fill on this roster right now.

I don't see how this team can afford to burn a draft pick on another developmental QB, even in the 5th or 6th round. There will be plenty of undrafted guys you can look at for training camp qb's. It is a lot more likely to find a useful lineman, linebacker or special teams player with the lower picks. That is how the best teams solidify their rosters.. by finding useful players in the lower rounds and among undrafted players.

Tyrod Taylor. Will at the very least become a good Wild Dawg QB, could develop into a Mick Vick type of player who we could either trade for more than we spent, or have take over if Colt doesn't pan out. That is what homlgren was known for, taking QB's late and shipping them out later after he had turned them into something. Think of it as an investment.

  • Yeah I would spend a 7th on Tyrod Taylor. He could be descent 24 td and only 4 picks plus over 800 yards rushing on 19 attempts. I would take him in the 7th, maybe 6th.

  • you guys are crazy if you think Green is gonna slip all the way to 6 hes the best player on alot of teams board and they will just draft strictly on BPA not on needs, so to people saying that hes gonna slip Ill be here on Draft Day when Cincy grabs him

  • Yeah, if Green runs a solid sub 4.35, he'll most definitely be gone by 6.

I don't think he is that fast, more like a 4.4 - 4.45. And you rright there is a good chance that he is taken by Cinci as long as they still think Palmer isn't serious and teams before them might pick best available player with at least Cam Newton and maybe that dude from Missouri going too. But if you think about it one of the 5 players will fall to us, Miller, Green, Peterson, Fairly, Bowers and I am fine with taking any of these guys.

  • I think Palmer is serious. In my opinion, who wants to play and stay for that piece of shit organization who only have two winning season over the last 20 years??? However....They had better receivers last year. No question about it. The Bengals gave Palmer Ocho and Owens. Weren't those two good enough? If you can't do good with those two, then you suck period.

He may be serious, but take a look at the Bengals organization.

They don't budge when it comes to threats like that.

So is this an intentional or unintentional slap to Ron Wolf's face? Holmgren has NEVER been known as a talent-FINDER, but rather a great DEVELOPER of raw talent. Which he is not even asked to do here. Brett Farve brought to GB via WOLF developed by MH, Hasselbeck drafted by WOLF developed by MH. Did he possibly have INPUT on the subject of talent to bring in.....absolutely he did, but that doesnt make him responsible for bringing in those talents. Ive been around long enough to realize Cleveland Browns fans always think they have gotten the cream of the crop anytime new faces come in here, even though every ounce of common logic in your brain tells you not to think that way. Im not saying MH can't become a great president, might be that guy. But lets keep the facts factual, instead of pretending that what we want to happen is reality.

On the surface I have no problem with you or anyone believing this, but the problem arises when before the guy even does anything he is considered a god. So if he, god forbid, turns out to be as big a failure as everyone before him, it will be nearly impossible to convince the people who skew his coaching and managing skills that he sucks and is the problem.

I like you HIB, but that is an obvious brainfart that is too common around here. Anyways sorry for getting too off-topic, but I just cant hardly hear it anymore without wanting to shake the shit out of someone.

Palmer could retire... if so...that would be hilarious.. because the Bengals would look like a bunch of assclowns

I haven't announced the guy a god and I really don't know how you can take my comment that way. All of my excitement this off-season is based off of 1) last years draft which both Holmgren and Heckert worked on and 2) the whole organization plus the coaching being on the same page for the first time since Holmgren got here. I will admit I am wrong by saying that Holmgren drafted those guys in Greenbay but he did the same thing when he was in Seattle (even though all he got out of it was Wallace) when he did both the GMing and coaching. So regardless he is going to attempt to draft a low round QB and have him developed until he either A) proves to not have enough talent and gets cut, B ) gain enough talent to where he becomes a trade for a higher draft pick than we spent on him, or C) develops into a starter if he really developes well and Colt doesn't pan out due to ability or injury.

i understand the need for depth at every position so seeing us draft another corner this year wouldn't upset me one bit. but another QB? come on. i thought the consensus here was we're behind colt mccoy. we would have won a couple of more games last year if he wasn't hurt. blah, blah, blah. and if saying colt is the guy for the upcoming season, isn't holmgren contradicting himself by saying he'll draft another QB? WTF???? draft picks are way too flippin precious to keep picking the same (offensive play maker) position every year. yes we need DE, DL, RT, WR and yes more DBs.

cut delhomme (thanks BTW for bringing in this waste) keep seneca. find someone along the lines of a ratliffe (yeah i know he sucks). you'll get him cheap and you won't have to waste a pick this year. if holmgren is so good at developing QBs then why does it matter who it is??????
