Falcons To Contact The Browns In Trade... Cb On Radar In Draft?
-
Man that would be awesome man. I am all for a trade down if it brings in a few more starters and multiple second and 3 round picks along with Atlanta's number 1. If it is without players and only picks it would probably have to be Atlanta's 1st, second, and third.
-
The only way I would think about making this trade is if we get 2 1st rounders, a 2nd rounder and either a player or another 2nd round pick. That is a big jump from 6 to 27.
-
There first, second, third, and a player or 2 and I would do it. But the players we get would need to be starters. Maybe the RT we need and a DL or DE.

agreed. if the browns do make a trade with them, i hope they get a fair amount in return.
edit: there would need to be some extra incentitive to pass up on a guy like green. also, how are the wrs looking for next years draft class? that could play a factor in the browns decision. if the draft class for wrs is good, that would help the browns to pull the trigger quickly on an offer like this (if atl actually does make this offer).

Heres a site that shows a chart of the draft pick values. It clearly shows that if it's a pick for pick it would have to include Atlanta's 1st pick this year and next with a second round pick either year at the least.
-
Looking at that chart it looks like we would get their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd along with either their 2nd and 3rd next year or maybe a one or two starters, would also flow in a 4th next year possibly. Sounds good especially since I really don't think that our front office is really impressed with damn near anyone in the top 10. I don't really think they like the top two DE's or the top two DT's and I think at this point they don't want to spend the first pick on a WR. I think they are really liking Watt and Jordan, but Watt won't be their at 27, Jordan might and even if those two guys are gone they have shown interest in Heyward who they said would play the under tackle position if they drafted him. I think with extra picks in the 2nd and 3rd round with a front office that has shown to be able to find starter talent in those rounds is a really good thing. You can still find a game changer at 27 and fill so many more holes this way. Regardless if we trade down or not I am just excited to see who are going to be the newest members of the Browns.

I absolutely agree. The steelers, colts, patriotss, etc always draft in the final 1/3 and still find studs. Its all about hitting on the players you DO pick. Also the money saved from 6 to 27 would be big. I guess with the rookie wage scale it wouldn't matter, but all those extra picks to fill all those holes would be awesome

Somebody please correct me if this is wrong but I don't think any players can be traded during a lockout.
If a draft day trade happens I think it can only involve picks.
To trade back that far would take a lot especially getting no players in return, definitely more than two late second round picks.

Good point on the trade thing. Forgot about that.

if A.J. green is there and we pass him up for a trade that doesn't involve the falcons trading us the farm i'd be enraged. We DESPERATELY need a dominant WR, and by basically all accounts everyone thinks he will be. For the most part, I don't really care what picks we would get. Am I in the minority here? I just think the two players in this draft that are absolute can't miss talents are Green and Peterson, and I'd hate to miss out on those guys if we had the chance.

Everyone else has stated my sentiments.
Unless they trade us a shitload of picks + a starter, why would we trade away the possibility of Peterson and AJ Green?

If Peterson is gone and AJ is available, but we feel someone like Blackmon can be just as good or could produce just as well for our team, and could be avaible at 27. Plus you get two 1st plus more picks; it could very well be a good risk for us.

Exactly, moving back that far 6-27 is, well- too far. Atlanta would have to give us the ranch. Not saying if they think they're "one player away" they won't consider it. Cost would be this years first and second, and a first next year minimum.
The Browns need impact players, and dropping out of the top 1\2 of the first round lowers your odds of getting one considerably.

This whole lockout/nflpa rift and potentially not being able to trade players if its not resolved by april 28 may really effect the browns draft day battle plan to fill our roster with capable traded players, however it may up the value of of picks received for trading down as well...
Either way for once i actually have confidence in our GM to bring us the best possible options available at the end of the day rather we hold fast or trade down..
What we know thusfar from the H&H pressers is that they initially didnt want to delve to deep into the FA pool and i hope they can still find a way to prevent the browns from drowning in it..

I think Peterson is really the only one we are looking at with the 6th pick at this point and after that we want to try and move back compared to who is availbe still. You also must be confused because Blackmon isn't in the draft this year.

I don't really think we need next years first, but we defiantly need alot, with points we could be 1-4 this year and 2-4 next year. All areas of the draft that our front office has shown that they can find talent.

Well there goes your risk, seeing as how Justin Blackmon is staying in OKS for another year.
Unless he has a twin brother I dont know about.

I am starting to think Julio Jones would be the better fit for our wco.
-
I'm starting to think that Torrey Smith and the Gates kid fit the WC offense better than Julio does.....
-
What round is Gates going in? I would take him in a heart beat.
-
I think some team will nab him in the second half of the second round, if not earlier.
NFLdraftscout has him pegged as a third rounder. After his combine? I think he's gone before the Browns draft in the third....
but how cool would it be if he is the Browns third round pick, and becomes a Roddy White?
