Injuries Mounting- Already
-
Just traded either a 7th rounder or a bag of pucks for depth at o-line, and while lacking top end talent at wide receiver it is definitely one of our deeper positions
I'd be more concerned about Ben hitting his noggin yesterday. Would definitely feel more comfortable with him setting the edge for Hillis and being colts safety valve than the people behind him.... Or any injury that may happen at any position on our D....

considering were counting on momass or mitchell to have a break out year it isnt good. People will stack the line of scrimmage and Hillis will be worn down or hurt..

Already assuming the new offensive system won't allow our receivers to be more productive?
Dabolls offense last year was the most pathetic p.o.s. I had ever seen in the NFL and any other system would have better showcases the talent of out receivers
Do we have a top 10 wideout? F*** no. Do we have more multiple NFL caliber receivers? I believe so, but none of us will really know until we see them in regular game action
Don't forget about Little either, I think he'll be a stud in the slot for us this year with much bigger things for him outside in the future
-
And for Hillis getting warn down or hurt, a healthy hardesty and the signing of Jackson paired with a presumably more productive passing game (I don't believe things could be worse than last year) should eliminate that

Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Cribbs leaves practice with a knee or leg injury, will undergo exams
plaindealer.com 12:45 AM
CLEVELAND -- Browns receiver Josh Cribbs suffered a left knee or leg injury in practice this morning when a defensive back came down on his leg in one-on-one drills. He sat out the rest of the practice and wore an ice bag on the knee for some of it.
He was heading in to see the doctors and will probably undergo and MRI.
He might miss some practice, but should be okay for the first preseason game Aug. 13.
"I didn't want to press through it and risk missing a preseason game,'' said Cribbs. "If I was a young guy trying to make the team, maybe I wouldn't have come off, but I don't reallly know what's wrong. It's strained.''
Cribbs said the defensive back landed on the knee and he felt something right away. "I'll know more after I talk to the doctors,'' he said.
Fellow receiver Carlton Mitchell also left the field with what coach Pat Shurmur called "a shoulder episode'' leaving the team thin at receiver. Starter Mohamed Massaquoi is wearing a hard walking cast on his left foot and is out for at least a little while. He's on the non-footbal injury list.
The injuries have opened the door for rookie receiver Greg Little, the team's second-round pick out of North Carolina, to receive first-team reps. He's currently in the starting lineup alongside Brian Robiskie.
"I think the fact that I played in the West Coast offense in college has helped me to be able to move up and work with the ones,'' said Little.
In other Browns news:
* First-round pick Phil Taylor, the defensive tackle, is still holding out in a contract dispute. Apparently, the two sides are still talking. A source said the deal could be done very soon.
* Tight end Ben Watson suffered what's believed to be a concussion on Saturday. He sat out Sunday and watched practice in a ballcap.
* New acquisitions Broderick Bunkley, the defensive tackle from Philadelphia, and John Greco, the guard from St. Louis, were not yet on the field today.
* Free agent signee Jayme Mitchell, the defensive end, was supposed to arrive in town today but was not in attendance. He's not allowed to start practicing until Aug. 4, the start of the league year.
* Running back Montario Hardesty has looked solid and has held up well through some spirited drills. Pads go on for the first time tomorrow.
* The Browns might need to look for some outside help at receiver because of the injuries.

so he hates the way our FO is sitting on their hands. bitching? whining? i can remember all of you doing a lot of the same last year, so i'd STFU if i were you.
hey, and you could all be eating shit if he turns out to be right. wouldn't that suck?
BTW when is it alright to bitch about something you don't agree with? do we have to check in with you guys first? what makes you the true browns' fans? pompous asses.

You guys sound like a bunch of xxxxs. Give the season a chance to start, then start your xxxxing bitching.

Embarassing??? Whining for my team to get better is embarassing???
Embarassing will be when we play the steelers and ravens this year..
We have cap money, why not sign a stop gap wr??? Mike simms-walker signed a 1 year deal with the rams. What would it hurt to make moves like this???
I'm telling you last year everyone said we had the slowest wrs in the nfl, do you think they will run faster in the west coast offense?? If so your probably the same dueche bags who baught the reebok pumps to make you jump higher

Did you guys ever stop and think "Holmgren and Heckert know the game of football infinitely better than you or I so maybe they don't like the FA market this year and are waiting until next year?" No, you didn't. We don't need to hit a salary floor as a team, it is league-wide. As long as all the teams collectively spend 90% of the salary cap we are good. Maybe we are holding out until next year. This is going to be a brutal season with a young coach/QB.. so let's be patient because if you would open your eyes to the mid-long term future you would realize that H & H are building something that we have not had since the Browns came back into the league. Then again, bitching, moaning, and showing all around immaturity takes a lot less energy than being patient so do what you please.

The thing that is extra frustrating is that I keep hearing browns fans state that a team like us doesnt need Free Agents, cuz we aren't on the cusp, But last season we played a tough schedule and where in alot of the games we lost. This season I was expecting us to sign some depth and maybe some veterans to fill some holes on are roster. We have a much easier schedule than last season, So is heckert and holmgren trying to get a high draft pick? Its gonna be tough for us to beat the bengals for that top pick if that is there plan!

of course i did. i like heckert and think he's the best GM we've had since being reinstated. holmgren to me is over-rated but again that's my opinion. and i think i should be able to voice my opinion as part of this forum. sure i don't like the way some people come off with the way they state their views, but that's their right.
do we have a running list of people on the board who have the right to come off as assholes and others that don't? that's all i'm saying. don't jump down a guy's throat because he thinks the FO should be doing more. and diehard: we've got preseason games starting in less than 2 weeks, so when is it ok to start complaining?
i've stated in either this thread or others related that i wasn't expecting our FO to throw huge money at some used up vet, but was hoping they'd fill the holes not addressed by the draft. that's it. if that makes me sound inmature or bitchy you must be the most sensitive person in the world.

I'm sure Hardesty will be on the list of injuries very soon haha

And I think all of us Browns Fans should be Pissed, if you are Happy with the players the Browns have signed since the Free Agency period has begun than you are an idiot
