Total Trap Game: I'm Calling A Browns Win 20-14
-
Niners will win by suffocating the browns. It might start slow, but it'll be 20-6 or worse by end of game. browns have a couple wins over the worst teams in the league while the Niners have had the hardest schedule of anyone with 5 or more wins. factor in watson, massoquoi and hillis all being banged up and there's no hope for the traveling team.
-
Damn, you guys are more positive than the Lions fans. At least 1/3rd of them predicted the loss. I've seen about 1-2 people here predict it.
Niners will win. This isn't a trap game because Harbaugh has made it clear that this is a must-win game for us. Our pass defense is horrid overall, but if you look at our last few games, it's one of the tops in the league. I bet top half at the very least. Ask Stafford and Megatron how our pass defense is. Megatron got 100 yards in garbage time. We'll be OK in pass defense imo.
Special teams... if Cribbs can break one early... that's the only way I can see possible doom.

Your a moron, You won the Lion game with 30 seconds left in the game on 4th down on a slant to your back-up tight end who was playing wide reciever cause all your wide-outs were hurt.. There was no Garbage time. That being said nobody stops Megatron, so dont feel bad about that..
Aslo you guys rave about your defense and you should you have a very solid D. You seem to no give any credit to the Browns Defense. You keep forgetting we have the 4th best defense in the NFL, and the top 4 Defenses in the are ALL IN THE AFC NORTH.
I understand alot of niner fans are coming over here, because they are off to a great start, and you are pumped about your team. You should be, but show a little class. YOU WOULD NOT BE PULLING THIS SHIT IF I WAS SITTING ACROSS FROM YOU AT A BAR.
That being said, I for one really like your team, and hope the Browns follow the pattern the 49ers have done, but with a better QB..
fact is niners have a very solid Defense, solid Special Teams, and a great Running back with a great tight end.
WE aslo have a great D, but do not have a great running back or any offense player for that fact...We have alot of "what Ifs" What if Little is the real deal, what if Mitchell plays a down( I think he is this week), what if Moore can get in the game, What if Hillis can stop being a bitche and be the man he was last yr..
As for your coach, I love it. I think hes a really good coach. Wish the Browns had him...
You take all the stupid threads and post on here forthe 49er fans...Everybody in the beginning of the yr thought this was a game we could win. THen the 49ers started off realy well, and we are not that good. Do I think we have a chance?? Sure I do..
My heart says Browns win 17-9
My Money says 49ers win 17-13

Ok, I know when somebody goes over the top, it is commonplace to not only defend your team, but in doing so, downgrade the other team. That being said, this defence is clearly better than decient. They are top 5 in the NFL at least.
Yards are not what wins games, points win games. Holding teams to the fewest possible points is the main objective, not holding them to the fewest yards.
Here are some stats on what the 9ers have been doing on defence:
2nd in points per game
10th in YPA against the pass. So despite giving up the 6th most yards in the passing game, the 49ers are still making teams work for that yardage.
5th in YPA against the run, and 2nd in YPG.
3rd in third down conversion percentage
1st in red zone defence, and are the only team to not give up a rushing TD in the red-zone.
Justin Smith
The browns have played Dalton, Collins (worse than painter), Henne, Hasselback, Camboller, and whithurst.
Here are their YPG numbers:
Hasselback (13th)
Dalton (23rd)
Henne (24th)
campbell (27th)
Collins (33rd)
Whitehurst (35th)
Naturally the browns passing yardage is going to have pretty good numbers compared to the rest of the NFL, but it says just as much about the teams they have played as it does their performance against the pass. In that situation, if the browns have an average passing defence, their raw numbers should be top five.
By comparison the 49ers have played
Jackson (25),
Dalton (23),
Vick(11),
Stafford(9),
Freeman(13),
Romo (6).
The 9ers pass defence raw numbers have been inflated by playing high yardage quarterbacks. On top of that passing yardage numbers are the single chink in what is otherwise a very strong over-all resume. More importantly, those yards are not leading to points, which is what really matters.
Somebody mentioned the 9ers using walker because they are thin at reciever. That is simply not the case. Walker is a viable weapon that can create a mis-match with linebackers, cornerbacks, and saftys alike. If the 9ers used their speedy slot reciever there to run the slant he is not able to drag the dude into the end-zone the way walked did. He can block, run and catch. He will line up all over the field, including in the slot.
I am sure alex smith's reputation preceeds him, and ask any niner fan, for his first six years I have been one of his biggest critics. But he is playing well. His ball placement is very good, he is accurate, effecient, and compliments the running game very well. Most importantly he has made the timely plays when the team needed him to make a throw. Being clutch counts for a lot, and alex has been very clutch this year. His yardage numbers are not great, but that is because he is not throwing a lot of passes, and he hasn't needed to. When the 9ers were down at half time against the eagles, he came out slinging the ball and ended up with 290 yards in a come from behind victory.
I am certainly an any given sunday type of guy, but the 9ers have a pretty clear edge going into this game IMO.

Fact is the 9ers have a big edge but the browns offense is overdue to put it all together and if the gears start meshing this week in SF you guys will have a game on your hands..
I am an idiot and am going to say the browns offense will unexpectedly start clicking and we will upset the 9ers this week..
Browns 23
49ers 20

I called 33-21 Browns on Monday...sticking to it. We'll be tied for 2nd after this weekend.

Delanie Walker 11 114 10.4 29 3
Walker is Ave is 2.2 catches a game....Again I follow almost every team(Its part of my job). He is in there more because your wide-outs were all hurt, and yes he is more used in the red zone. Nice Player thou.....
-
Looks like Mitchell and Norwood are playing this week. I really like Norwood, small guy but one of the fastest players in the NFL.
San Fran has no idea about these two guys, both could be huge for a victory both very fast. Get the ball to them in open space and see what happens....
So it looks like we will have bascially 3 rookies starting and wide-out, I know Michell is not a rookie, but did not play much last yr

Delanie had more catches and yards through his first six games last year than he did this year, and our wideouts weren't hurt. We aren't using him more at all, it's the same as it always was. Also, Alex Smith doesn't throw that often. Walker has 2.2 catches because he sits behind Vernon Davis, and plays in a run-first offense.
Delanie has been praised coach after coach for years. He used to be a wide receiver in college. The dude is a beast. He has been lining up as a WR for a few years now, trying to get a linebacker to cover him to create a mismatch. DW would be a starter on most teams.
I understand if you cover every team, but true Niner fans know Delanie better than you do. I don't mean this to be offensive, but it's like I came in talking about how well I know Robiskie (sp?). I don't, and I will never claim to know any Browns player better than any fan.

You think that Braylon hasn't played good since leaving the Browns? How have the Browns fared since then?
Gee and u think the Browns were playoff calibre when Braylon was there ? look at the history and the record. Why dont u use the Jets as an example considering they are the neutral team ? Why would they let Braylon go and replace him with Burress who has nvr played in the NFL in a while ? Which NFL team in its right mind will do that ? Also after he was let go, how many NFL teams came with a contract for him ?

What you fail to realize is that Braylon is our 4th or 5th option in the passing game. He isnt asked to be the man in San Fran like he was in Cle. Our first option is of course our TE`s(Vernon Davis & Delanie Walker who both have 3 Tds a piece. Our 3rd option in the passing game is Crabtree and he has worked with Alex for a couple years now. You could even argue that Gore and Hunter will see more targets out of the backfield than Braylon will. So that makes him our 4th or 5th option in the passing game? That is a freaking awesome 4th-5th option if I do say so myself. He had 900yds and 7 tds last year for the Jets who were a run first team. Our 5th option puts up better numbers then your #1 option. Dont hate dude, its ok. Get over it already.

he was also getting passes from a semi-respectable QB in NY. sanchez >>> game-manger-almost-geriatric smith who finally figured out how to pass the ball 7 years into his career.

Sounds to me like you fans should be mad at your front office and not Braylon Edwards. For them not putting a viable QB option to pair with your would be All Pro WR. I seem to remember the one year that you guys got really good QB play and went to the playoffs Braylon had 16 td rec. That doesnt happen on accident, Braylon has always had the skill set to be a force in this league. He just never got any solid QB play.
Even in 2007 when you guys took the NFL by storm didnt you guys play 2 qbs much of the year? It was Anderson and I can remember the other guy, who was it? Tim Couch? Point is they have not had any consistency at the QB position for a long time and Edwards performance was a direct result. You guys are lucky to have Holmgren though. He will certainly find you a qaulity NFL QB sooner then later. Thats what he does, and he does it well.

"All-pro" WR's aren't all-pro for one good season.
For as many good plays Braylon made in Cleveland he had two or three bad ones.
Plus the drama.
He thought we hated him because he was from Michigan. No dummy, we hated you because you acted like TO before putting up the stats on the field.
He asked a Texans DB on the line of scrimmage for information about his modeling agent.
Enjoy him. Good wideout or not, he isn't missed.
Wow, really? I have to admit, that is pretty damn pathetic. Get your fing head in the game. I never heard that story before. Could you please share some more Braylon gems? This is a real concern for me because as you know we had to deal with the real TO(AKA diva presidentay). And most Niner fans will tell you, up until this year Crabtree has been a bit of a diva himself. Not only that but Vernon Davis was trying to pull that diva stuff too until Singletary threw his ass out of the game and kicked him off the sideline. I think Vernon has turned it around though and I think he finally gets it, the team comes first. I know all about cancers in the locker room and how they can divide a team and ruin it. Im just not as aware of his antics as much as you Browns fans would be. I was kinda hoping the niners would re-sign him after this year. Everything I have heard has been on the up an up. Of course Harbaugh has known Edwards since he was a young child, maybe that helps, IDK.

I honestly don't care if he goes diva, as long as he is a productive receiver. I think after seeing not too many teams have an interest in signing him, he is going to become more of a team player and less about himself.
Oh wait! Are we talking about Braylon or TO?

Look with Edwards, you signed him to a nothing contract, so if he acts like a jack ass, it will not cost you shit.
BE just has not lived up to the expections, let alone his own idea of how great he is...
