Colt Mccoy Is Not The Qb Of The Future

You all need to get comfy with Shurmur because he will be the HC next year.
Holmgren is not going to publicly admit he fubared on the HC choice. He WILL blame the losing on internal issues, he will stick by his coaching decision and Heckert will be gone.
So let it be written, so let it be said
You guys think like fans, not like men who have ever held an executive position
You are insane. Holmgren brought in Heckert as well. Neither guy will be gone next year.

Well, my thought right now is Holmgren is in retirement and Heckert is a keeper so far, and Shurmer..............thanks and dont let the door hit you on the way out

I don't think for a moment that Heckert will be gone....unless Heckert chooses to leave. But I agree with you, Holmgren will not likely admit he FUBARed the HC choice and Shurmur will be here at least 2 years.

That seems like a fair assessment based on what we have seen so far. My point is Holmgren just brought in Heckert and Shurmur so there is no way either leaves next year.

Not arguing but Shurmur is way underachieving as is Holmgren and Heckert so far has been a moderate success except for pissing away Julio Jones which they all are to blame

kind of hard to truly assess a qb when he is fighting for his life after a 3-4 step drop leaving him zero chance to bail out with the hot read.
The Browns have no offensive weapons so expect a contiued heavy dose of blitzing and stacking the box against the run ( if we had one).
i don't think there is an offensive line in the league that could withstand this level of constant pressure without stepping on their nutz like the Browns
do week in and out.
As far as shumur and his burnt toast offense, there is a reason he was an assistant coach in the league for 11 years. But, in all fairness, give the man at least a
year before the molatov cocktails start flyin

We have MoMass, Little, Mitchel and Norwood and Evan Moore, Ben Watson !!!!!
and none of them make the field stretched
and none of them make the field stretched
If they are able to run 10 - 15 yard routes, even that should be fine ... it is not like the O-Line gives Colt enough time to throw anyway. I want to see Colt throwing away the ball before he gets sacked ... If it is a drop then so be it, but it seems like the way he is hanging on to the ball it is only a question of time before some one injures him real bad !

To Colts' defense though, it's hard for a young QB to be sucessful when you can't run the ball effectively. He is simply not good enough to win these games on his arm. You have to take some of the pressure off of him. Bradford is not good enough to win games with his arm, as he proved against AZ. He overthrew wide open recievers for possible TD's or huge gains down to the red zone 3 different times, in a game in which our defense dominated plus got 2 safeties. So in Bradfords case, he just needs to get better, period. McCoy needs to improve in the same way, but he also needs weapons. He's having to do too much for you guys. When Chris Ogbannya is your starting RB, thats not good. But hey, your 2nd year QB has won 3 games this year, ours has won 0. And I would say the Rams have a better offense than the Browns. So what does that say about Colt? So IMHO Colt just needs more time. But if Holmgren wants to keep drafting til he finds a superstar, more power to him.

I just find it hard to believe that all ... all our WR's and TE's are not able to get open and that is the only reason why our QB is not having success completing passes.

Lets put it this way ... Comparing the physical aspects of both Bradford and Colt ... Bradford has a higher ceiling than Colt.

Agreed. I'm no fan of Shurmur, but McCoy should at least be showing some positive signs. Even rookie QB's on losing teams like Cam Newton are showing playmaking ability. Colt McCoy isn't. Teams have figured him out. He surprised people last year. He's not fooling anyone now.
Uh Newton has Steve Smith to throw to and DeAngelo Williams and Jon Stewart to run the ball. They actually have weapons.

These "weapons" were on the team last year. How many games did they win? How did Jimmy Clausen look last year? Terrible. Same weapons different QB. The QB is the difference maker. Enough of the excuses. We need a new QB.
-
you do make a good point, but a shitty QB failing with proven weapons does not mean a good QB will succeed with out weapons. Apples to oranges comparison.
-
Colt is making 1.25 (roughly) a year. Cutting him is not going to free up much cap. Might as well try to hold on to a solid backup Quarterback, unless he is involved in a trade up with the Colts come draft day. . .
-
You can't just throw the ball away every down as soon as you take the hike and take one step.
It would be 3 and outs all day. Eventually, you have to man up and try to make plays, despite
not having the talent around you that a lot of other teams have.
For instance, this talk about Cam ? Go Google the Panthers on yahoo sports,
and look at their depth chart. The Panthers have DRAFTED EVERY SINGLE STARTER
on their offensive line. It's a team game, you have to build the entire set of players with the right players.
No more drafting based solely on youtube videos, and paper reports. The Browns still need some
FOOTBALL PLAYERS who love the game, and intensely want to win. Anything else, and you don't have a team,
you have a bunch of square pegs in round holes who really don't give a flying whoopee about much more than
their own paychecks and good times.

Yeah Rich it's not Holmgren doing the drafting (who happened to make one pick- McCoy, starting qb). Care to tell me how Heckert has blown his drafting? I'll give you Hardesty so far. Wah, wah, we didn't draft Julio Jones. Forget there were questions about Jones' hands coming out? What if he had turned into Braylon II? And what if that 2012 first round pick we got from the Falcons turns into Justin Blackmon? Huh? Ever think about that? Go tell me how many games your super stud RB Adrian Peterson has won for the Vikings. If you say less than what McCoy has won for the Browns, go to the head of the class. OK, granted I didn't like the Browns getting rid of Vickers to draft Marecic either.
Haden- potential Pro Bowler. Ward- solid pickup. Little- shows promise, starting. Lauvao- starting. Taylor- starting. Sheard- starting. Pinkston- starting. Marecic- starting. Skrine- good 3rd corner, starting potential.
What the hell do you want out of Heckert Rich? Draft 4 Hall of Famers in one year like the Steelers did in the 70s?

Amen.someone with a sane mind.

Colt not the qb of the future? What qb has been?
all qb's go away eventually. But nice prediction. "doi"
Colt isn't Luck. Boo hoo baloney. This Browns fo knows football bigtime -
and if they do draft a qb in the first round, it will be a smart decision I figure.
Too many negative nellies horsin around here. The weaknesses that are killing
the Browns' offense... are not McCoy's fault. Every qb is imperfect.
The Browns WILL draft a RT. And again, Rich before you chime in with your baloney...
the squeeeelers drafted their bookend tackles, first round and second round. go look. The Browns need the right side.
Rich - your squeelers drafted their OLT in the 3rd round. They drafted their OLG in the 6th round. They drafted their center in the first round.
They drafted their ORT in the second round. You wanna bet they draft an ORG this coming draft?
Many plays have failed, and have nothing to do with McCoy in any way.
-
Nobody to throw to that's open or not double covered, and the rush flying past Pashos at full speed after the second step of Colt's three step drop back, and you say he holds onto the ball too long. That's been said about every Browns qb since Tim Couch.
That isn't smart. That's all.
Ironically, the Browns' oline has sucked since 99....

Well That's all about to change Sunday. Joshua Cribbs willbe wearing #32 and playing fullback. Watch out!
Yeah, right!
No, that number is retired.....but I would advocate that #16 line up in the backfield and be handed the ball a few times.....what can it hurt to try?
