I Couldn't Be More Happy With This Loss!

  • Crazy take.

Young teams need to learn how to win, even if their head coach stands in their way. Winning breeds confidence, and there's no guarantee a high draft pick is going to be the cure.

lol, exactly. cause i mean cleveland hasnt' had any high draft picks lately. you know, if they could only have drafted in the top ten picks the last 8 out of 10 yrs or so they'd have surely taken that talent and put it to good use..............right?

high draft picks DO NOT = WINS!!!!!

what's the average pick of the bronws the last 10yrs? between 5th and 9th?

what's the average pick of the Steelers the last 10yrs? between 24 and 29?

not actual #'s, but you should be able to figure out what i'm sayin.

You're right, but it sure as hell should help out and for us it hasn't. This organization doesn't have a formula for success or good leadership/management/ownership.

Until we have a decent formula or leadership, look for more wasted talent to come and go from Cleveland.

  • We obviously lose out to Balt and Pitt. This guarantees either Blackmon or Barkley--FRANCHISE CHANGING PLAYERS. IF we had beaten the Cards today we would slip to the teens picking another Taylor.

For all you that think we should have won out are all fools--there's no winning mind-set, we go back to being the Browns next year with a marginal first rounder, and the season was lost anyway--the onlyh thing we have now in our pocket in next year's draft (which will be a good one!) Sure the win would feel good until what, tomorrow? Then reality sets in that we just lost out on a Franchise player.

Welcome to Cleveland Barkley or Blackmon. It's as good as done.

And also for all you that are bitching and moaning about my philosophy on what's best for our team, I hope you don't cheer for that player we draft next year, because if it were up to you we wouldn't have been in position to draft him. So, F off.

Browns did good today by losing.

    That's the end result.

Really...you might want to have that head examined. By your logic, If I cheer for my team to win, then I can't cheer for any players they draft with a high pick? How does that make any sense? Are you trying to say that we should be happy with a crappy team but glad they have "Star" players? Are we supposed to cheer for them winning but boo the new draft class?

The bottom line is this...I am a Browns fan! I will root for them to win EVERY SINGLE GAME! Where they draft does not matter to me as much as WHO they draft does. I will root for any new players that join this team! If they have a bad season (quite often), I will still root for them to get better and that means that, yes, I will cheer for whoever they draft! I will take the good with the bad and the bad with the good until the day I cease to breathe or this team ceases to exist any longer!

  • After 3 more years of time wasting "observation" and blind rebuilding this regime should have a good idea of where it wants to go, and then holmgren quits and the whole process begins again with the new inexperienced president and his vision of what the new San Fransisco Clowns should look like..

Got to have an owner that wants things done and built in a fairly specific way regardless of who is in charge without an owners input and design everything is subject to change everytime the regime does..

Lerner does appear to have a minor design input that seems to involve keeping the browns a loser and aiming for the 1980s style WCOs instead of giving the fans what we wanted and expected before al lerner took over the expansion browns and that is the old AFCC style of in your face football like all 3 other teams in our division still utilize..

  • Im not for losing to get a better draft pick but i am looking towards the future, and you can go ahead and forget about Blackmon he will be gone..

As far as Barkley is concerned really no way do i take him over RG3 he isnt going to lift a franchise up immedatiely with game changing abilties like RG3 hes more of a guy ala McCoy you put the Peices around him and hes outstanding...

And come draft time RG3 will be clear ahead of Barkley based on hes an OLYMPIC sprinter/hurdler not just Ncaa and excells at the best times...If there is a physical freak in the draft its him and i see him moving up the draft boards ala Cam Newton style.

I agree with you that RG3 would be a better pick then Barkley. I see Barkley as just another USC product ala Palmer, Sanchez, Leinart, etc. What have they REALLY done in the NFL? But I am a little confused with your second comment..."...more of a guy ala McCoy you put the Pieces around him and he's outstanding..." If you feel that way, then why wouldn't you want to just "put the pieces around" McCoy and let him be great rather than wasting a high pick on a QB just to start over again? I say go get Richardson and then a receiver! Let's see what Colt can do with the rest of the puzzle! You cannot put a puzzle together until you have all the pieces. And you can't blame one piece because another is missing.

  • Couple of things

    1. Lebron did change the Cavs for the better, they were a doormat team Lebron comes in and puff we are running for title even thou we didnt get one. I really not a basketball guy, but it was a nice run

    2. Blackmon will be drafted by the Rams

    3. NO WAY in hell we draft Barkley

    4. RG3 will be in Cleveland next yr, or another O-lineman 🙂

    5. Shurmer sucks

    6. Colt sucks

    7. ALL OUR RUNNING BACKS SUCK

    8. Little thank you for waking up for your 4 game Retarded play

  • Oh I'm sure the Browns will find a way to screw up the picks!

Losing just breeds more losing. The higher draft pick is nice, but I would much rather have had the win. No draft pick is a sure thing. You apparently have already forgotten about Couch, Brown, and Warren.

Now if the loss gets Shurmer fired, that would be a step in the right direction.

Warren had half a sack yesterday.

  • You never play for draft position, numbnuts.

You play to win the game. Hello!

    There's a reason you're not GM.

Exactly! I NEVER root for the Browns to lose to secure better draft picks! And well considering our draft history since 1999...

WHat good are draft picks with this asshole doing the drafting. Heckert needs to be fired.

Yeah, and he does draft Jones and the Browns have maybe one more win because of it? Whoopee!!!! Until we see what the Browns do with the Atlanta pick next year, you have no argument.

  • Im gonna go ahead and say that with the extra picks Phil Taylor easily over Julio Jones, granted Julio has shown flashes this year but i hear alot of complaning from Atlanta fans about the Drops....I said this before the draft Jones is a clone of Braylon E. could you imangine another Receiver dropping the ball on this team??/

I will take Blackmon if he is there for us. But as I have said about Barkley: we already have him on our roster. His name is Colt McCoy. He is about the same height and weight as McCoy. His arm isn't rated much stronger, if at all. He doesn't have as much mobility as McCoy. McCoy college career was superior to Barkley's.

Sorry, not interested. Give me Blackmon or give me a defensive player.

I feel the same about Barkley. If we take a QB with our first pick it better be Luck or RG3.. Although I would rather have Blackmon or even Richardson..

  • Name Team G Rec Yds Y/G Avg Lng YAC 1stD TD

    Greg Little CLE 14 57 669 47.8 11.7 76 2.9 32 2

    Julio Jones ATL 11 42 755 68.6 18.0 80 7.3 28 5

    Hmm...

  • It's 1999 to do all over.

Do you take Couch or trade down with Ditka for his entire draft and let him take Ricky Williams.

I don't mind the Julio Jones move.

We should have started restocking the cupboard years ago.

  • If we're not playing for draft picks when we are out of the playoff race than we are some dumb motherfuckers in NE Ohio.

I can't think of any logical person arguing going from 4-12 to 7-9 and neither team making the playoffs and then telling me why the 14th pick is the same as the first 5 picks (Unless were picking some odd ended posisition)

Yes drafts are hit or miss but i'd rather be taking the best player at the posisition and not the 3rd or 4th best when it falls to our pick.

We pick this high in the draft every year. And.... we're still picking this high in the draft every year.

  • I cannot wrap my brain around us loseing all the time. And after every loss I hear the same shit, We need draft picks! No we don't. We always have draft picks that suck ass. We always say the same thing, Give him a few more years! I have spent countless amounts of money just like most of you. When are we going to see results? To me we try to lose. Does anybody remember back in like '01 when we were beating Chicago 21-7 with like a min to go and we lost? It's the same typical shit. Don't matter who the coach/player is. I think we are cursed or just plain suck monkey ass.
