I Am Really Getting Convinced We Should Take Rg3

The Browns Board
45 17 2.4k
  • RG3 has the most potential out of all three top-rated QBs (Luck, Barkley.)

This guy has it all: Fiery competitor, an absolute CANNON for an arm, deadly accurate on deep passes and can take off for a big gain if he so chooses.

I think this guy would bring change to face of the organization who has had pocket-passers every year. Who knows, maybe he sparks a new motivation in the otha brothas on the team like we saw in Steve Smith with Can Newton. Just a thought.

Barkley is good, don't get me wrong, but I see him plateauing, whereas RG3 can really take our team in another direction.

So, here it is, the Browns will most likely be able to choose between the two if no other team trades up to snatch one of them ahead of us.

Who do we take: RG3 or Barkley

He's cam Newton, except he's smarter/better decision maker (don't take my word for it, but guys pretty smart) and he's actually accurate

then it's a no brainer we take him with our first pick, right? No, watch us take Coples. Heckert better take RG with our first overall pick, anything else I'll very pretty jaded.

  • here's the elephant in the room. I love RG3, but his game in no way works with this shitty WCO. I pray to God we realize how useless that offense is in today's game and open it up. IF they do that, he's a no brainer. Him and a speed WR would be amazing.

  • I believe the browns need to grab a QB in next years draft but i am not so sure that H&H would reach that high when there is likely a few gems in the rough they are most likely eying but who knows?

I am glad we got to see colt play and the kid is just tuff and will make a great long term backup for some team and perhaps even in the right system he could eventually be a starter, but imho our current system is not that system..

Holmgren talks a big game about the importance of bringing in the right guy as soon as possible that can help to make things happen for cleveland so it will be interesting to see how many seasons he will need to "observe" colt before making any crucial decisions..

  • It'd be dumb for the browns to take a QB this year. They just drafted colt last year. Give a guy more than a year to develop...holy crap you idiot fans are impatient

Some of the problems displayed by Colt like staring at a receiver, overthrowing etc are not mistakes that are caused due to lack of understanding the playbook.

Also, he is a chance we took on a 3rd round QB. If he panned out well and good , if not, big deal.

Ur right. QB is the problem. Just like it's always been. The browns pick the wrong QB every 2 years...don't you think they wouldve hit on one of them by now?

The browns are the only team in the league that draft a QB as often as they do. They are the only team in the league that thinks the QB is the reason they can't stop anybody on defense...the reason the wrs can't catch...the reason the offensive line can't block and the reason they can't win ever

QBs that find success early are the ones that have talent already around them...unfortunately the browns are too concerned with drafting a new QB every other year so they don't use any picks on the rest of the team.

  • The only debate should be if Blackmon is on the board then i would defentily think about him if hes gone then i would take RG3 and not look back...BPA over Need dont care that he is a QB if you believe hes the best player available take him unless you have Rodgers,Brady,Brees etc...

come on dude .... u have seen Colt play for 13+ games ... You have seen Greg Little catch the ball comfortably when seneca threw it and take it to the bank. Why should we not draft a new QB or get an experienced one who is capable ?

Bpa is a myth. If you take a QB it's because you need one. If you don't need one you will not take one

If kalil is available the browns won't take him because they already have Joe Thomas

Bpa is a joke and a complete myth.

You never know with the Browns if Kalil is there with the 4th pick im sure they would defentily consider drafting him, You see most the good teams draft BPA over Need..Do you think Green Bay needed a Wide Reciever in the last year no i dont think so they still took Randall Cobb

Wait? If Greg little only catches it when Seneca plays then why not start Seneca?

Secondly that is exactly my point. 13 games isn't even a full season and he is playing on a team with a terrible oline and wrs that couldn't catch a cold

Give him some weapons and some protection and he could be all world

Actually they needed a guy to spread the field and improve their awful special teams

    Cobb is exactly that guy

Good teams draft for depth and the future because they already have good starters

  • Canton i am still a big believer in Colt McCoy and dont think he will be a bad NFL QB even with that being said i wouldnt pass on RG3 if you see a prospect that you think can be an upgrade over the most important position in the league i take him, he is a rare player that wont come around probaly for at least another 5-10 years he is a unique player..

    NFC Playoff Picture

    1.Green Bay-Rodgers

    2.San Fran-Smith

    3.N.O.-Brees

    4.Lions-Stafford

    5.Falcons-Ryan

    6.Cowboys-Romo

    Philly-Vick

    NY-Manning

    Afc Picture

    1.N.E.-Brady

    2.Baltimore-Flacco

    3.Houston-Shaub/Yates

    4.Denver-Tebow

    5.Pitt-Big Gay

    6.NY-Sanchez

    Bengals-Dalton

    Chargers-Rivers

Out of the complete playoff picture i would say only Alex Smith,Tebow and Sanchez are mediocre QBS...Dalton is young,Yates as well and the team mostly had Shuab...So this is a QB Driven league

  • Colt is young too. The top 3 QBs this season were all given time before being tossed into the starting lineup.

Colt needs to be given time to succeed before everybody gives up on him. Who knows how good he could be with a top flight WR.

you're acting like we're hopping off the bandwagon after 3-4 starts. He's had 21 or 22, I forget exactly but that's more than a season to prove his worth. He has had little to no help, I can't argue you that at all. But there's traits about a QB that have to be there and would be shown by now even with an awful supporting cast. Colt is consistently a half second behind on plays, which in the NFL is the matter of life and death. At this point he would have shown the progression reads and improved on that and he just hasn't. Trust me man, I love the passion of the guy and hope every week he can finally figure it all out, but the same day one problems are there. He's a great back-up and someone I would trust to go out there if a franchise guy got hurt and feel like we have a chance to win. But let me ask an honest question to you: Do you truly believe at the end of the day Colt is a franchise QB? I never though Couch was, Frye was, Quinn was, Anderson was. The fact of the matter is that in today's pass oriented, QB friendly league the franchise QB's stick out from day one, not after 3-4 years.

  • Barkley will be better right away (not taking into account RGIII's run ability putting up points with rushing TD's) but RGIII should be the better QB in 3 years.

  • here's the elephant in the room. I love RG3, but his game in no way works with this shitty WCO. I pray to God we realize how useless that offense is in today's game and open it up. IF they do that, he's a no brainer. Him and a speed WR would be amazing.

Yeah?...Try telling the Packers and Saints its useless....

  • Fuck RGIII...Running QB's dont win SB's..and ones that do are far and few between.
